Another try at fanfic from a huge adventures in odyssey fan!
Connie Kendall walked into Whit's End on a rainy March day. Eugene and Whit were at the front counter. Whit was reading the morning paper, while Eugene poured coffee. "Well, look who decided to stop in," Eugene said, sarcastically. "Eugene," Whit said chidingly. "She is twenty seven minutes and twenty nine seconds late after all," Eugene responded.
"Don't start Eugene, it's been a rough morning. First, I overslept my alarm, since it didn't ring, and then I couldn't get my conditioner to wash ou- why are you laughing Eugene?!" Connie demanded.
"Oh Miss Kendall," Eugene chuckled.
"Don't oh Miss Kendall me, don't tell me you've never overslept your alarm before! But, that's right, computers don't sleep!"
"Miss Kendall, it's simple maintenance of one's technological devices! I can truthfully say I've never overslept any alarm, since I invented my own alarm clock, without any glitches! It's full proof!
"Why did you never share this so-called 'full proof alarm clock' with me?! You know how many issues I've had with mine!"
"It simply never occurred to me!"
"Stop it right now, you two!" Whit commanded. "All you two do is bicker. Connie, I'm sorry you had a rough morning, anything I can do?"
"No, I'll be alright, I'm just having a bad day, and Eugene's not making it any better."
"You know what John chapter sixteen, verse thirty three says "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." Whit quoted, " because of this verse, we know we'll have trouble, but thanks to Jesus Chris, for he has overcome the world."
Connie smiled, "Thanks Whit."
