Herminia moved a piece of hair from her face. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, this was her third year in The School for Good and Evil and she was nervous.
Her gray-brown eyes stared back at her; they were the most beautiful eyes anyone had ever seen.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and she braced herself.
Damaris entered the room with her light brown afro puffs bouncing.
Her grey eyes looked at her sister and smiled.
Are you ready, angel? It's almost time. I'm so excited for this year. Last year was so amazing.
Herminia nodded and set her brush down. She rose from her chair and surveyed her bedroom one last time.
She knew they might never see their home or family again.
Yeah, Sophie was tricked into believing her mother would save her and Agatha. And poor Agatha; that girl has been through so much.
Damaris nodded her head in agreement.
"Yes, I know we have our own story to tell. I just hope nothing bad happens this year."
She nodded.
If only they had known.
