Hi everyone. My name is Reina and I'm different from most people. I'm what you'd call "unique", or in some cases, a "freak". It wasn't always this way; at one point, I was seen as the normal one in a family of unique people. At least for ten years of my life, that is. Until shit began to happen and I realized that maybe, I wasn't so "normal" after all.

I don't remember much about the first four years of my life. It almost felt like my mind had been wiped clean, looking back on it. The last thing I remember is a faint memory of a man telling me that it would soon be ok and putting a bracelet on my wrist. The man said it would keep me safe, whatever that meant. Then, he left. I was then found by who would become my surrogate dad, nearly twelve hours later.

My surrogate dad found me in the alleyway and took me in. He fed me, clothed me, and raised me along with his four sons. I was different from them, just as they were different from me; but it never bothered us. I had a family, although a very unorthodox family. I guess I should mention that they were four turtles and a giant rat. Yeah, you heard me. They weren't regular animals either, obviously. They were mutated and could do everything a normal human could do. And like I said, I didn't care one bit; they were my family and the only ones to care about me.

My surrogate dad was the giant rat. His name is Splinter, though we usually called him Sensei as he began teaching us ninjutsu. I know, it sounds ridiculous. How did a rat learn ninjutsu? Honestly, I had no idea at the time, and truth be told, I didn't really care about the why or hows. It just was.

The turtles became my brothers: Leonardo; Raphael; Donatello; and Michelangelo. As we grew up and trained together, our bond grew stronger. And I began to develop feelings for one of them; feelings that were not of a familial type. I hid it as long as I could until I couldn't.

And once my feelings were in the open, it wasn't long until things began to change and then I had to make a choice: one which would affect everything and everyone in my life.

This is my life. This... is my story.
