Volume 0: Introduction

A Planet, much like our own, floats lazily against a backdrop of stars. The view shifts, slowly zooming in…

"The realm of Pokemon is a vast expanse, brimming with diversity at every turn. Yet, despite their tireless quest for rare species, most Trainers only scratch the surface of the world they inhabit," a soothing voice resonates, its words appearing against the dynamic backdrop.

The imagery shifts, showcasing different habitats:

"From the skies," a Pidgeot gently clasping a wriggling worm while three eager Pidgey reach up for it, a Zubat emerging from a dark cave at night.

"To the lush forests," three spirited Snivy engaged in a playful chase, observed by a watchful Deerling amidst the foliage. Meanwhile, a Wurmple wriggles along a lofty branch.

"Within mysterious caves," two mischievous Diglett engaging in a playful mud fight.

"And across sprawling fields," a herd of majestic Ponyta galloping over a hill, accompanied by a Rattata happily gnawing on a log.

"Deep in the dense jungles," a serene Slakoth reclining on a branch, observing a Kecleon that seamlessly fades in and out of view as it traverses between trees.

"Across tranquil lakes," leisurely swimming Magikarp and a lively Goldeen leaping in the distance.

"And even beneath the vast oceans..." A colossal Wailord breaches the surface, momentarily defying gravity, as a school of nimble Finneon swiftly evades its majestic descent.

"Every corner of this planet brims with untold stories, eagerly waiting to be unveiled," the voice continues, accompanied by a gradual zoom-out as if inviting us to embrace the grandeur of this mesmerizing world.

"Join us as we embark on a global odyssey, exploring new frontiers, forging new connections, and chronicling every step of this extraordinary journey... All in pursuit of a glimpse into the unseen realms of Pokemon," the voice declares, while the view returns to its original position. The planet gracefully revolves beneath as the voice resounds once more.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen…to Planet Pokemon."

Volume 1: The Sky

Gentle melodies fill the air, accompanied by the harmonious symphony of Pokemon cries and the whispers of nature. A flock of Starly gracefully soars by, while a close-up reveals a Pidove carefully sidestepping to avoid colliding with a passerby on a bustling sidewalk. A group of Taillow perches on a power line, accompanied by their avian comrades.

The music swells, building anticipation as two Pidgeots clash mid-air, talons locked in a fierce battle. They entwine in a dramatic spiral, pecking and clawing at each other. Eventually, they disengage, flapping wildly to regain altitude. One of the Pidgeots, now missing an eye, serves as a testament to the intensity of their aerial rivalry.

A Staraptor swoops down, snatching a Goldeen from a little girl's kiddy pool, its wings carrying the captured prize as the girl's startled screams echo in the background.

As the music subsides, the scene transitions…

"Ah, to be as free as a bird Pokemon." Whispers the narrator's voice, the camera zooming in, fixating on a particular tree. "Yet, even these winged creatures, blessed with the ability to traverse the skies, begin their journey grounded on two legs, much like us."

A small Pidgey, no more than 7 inches tall, hops along a branch of the tree. Its head twitches left and right, watching all around it as it keeps an eye out for danger. Another Pidgey, equally small in stature, joins the merry dance on the branch.

"Pidgey, known as the Tiny Bird Pokemon, is a common sight in forests and woodlands. While they are often found amidst tall grass, this particular pair hatched high up in this very tree," the narrator explains as the two avian companions continue their playful back-and-forth. "But fear not, for no matter how far they hop away, their innate sense of direction will guide them safely back to their nest."

A larger figure, a magnificent Pidgeot, gracefully lands near the two fledglings. Clutched within its beak is a limp Azurill, which is swiftly seized by a talon and torn in half with a beak strike. The small Pidgey draw closer, their curiosity piqued, as the Pidgeot places half of the Azurill on the branch, devouring its share.

"While Pidgey and its evolutions, Pidgeotto and Pidgeot, are typically mild-mannered Pokemon, they can exhibit surprising ferocity," the narrator remarks as the camera swiftly shifts its focus elsewhere. "However, not all avian Pokemon are safe from harm. Peril lurks around every corner…"

The grass beneath the camera's gaze rustles subtly, indicating the stealthy movement of an unseen presence. From the right, a larger Pidgey lands amidst the vegetation, pecking at the ground and rustling its wings.

In the midst of silence, the camera slowly, almost imperceptibly, zooms in on the unsuspecting Pidgey.

"They say the early bird catches the worm," the narrator declares, pausing for dramatic effect.

Without warning, the grass parts with a sudden jolt, revealing a blur of purple as a predator strikes. The Pidgey barely has time to react as the assailant bites down, producing a sickening crunch that renders the prey limp and lifeless. An Ekans, previously concealed, coils around its meal.

"But in this case, it is the snake that feasts on the bird... Alas, in the world of Pokemon, it often comes down to the law of the jungle, 'eat or be eaten'. Today, this Ekans has found an easy meal, but tomorrow holds no guarantees," the narrator remarks somberly.

As the camera gradually zooms out, several Pidgey perched on the branches above observe the scene, their watchful eyes mirroring a mixture of caution and resilience.

"With each passing day, the Pidgey will learn, grow stronger, until they eventually depart the nest... for those who survive, that is," the narrator states, the scene shifting to showcase Pidgeys of various sizes and stages of development.

"And those who do may one day find themselves on the team of a champion, like that of Lime, the Johto Champion of 2001, whose Pidgeot "Pig" played a pivotal role in a triumphant battle against a formidable Volcarona," the scene transitions to quick snapshots of the intense showdown.

Now, the camera reveals a young child engaged in a battle against a wild Pidgey, with their faithful Mankey as their partner. "In the vast realm of Pokemon, each one of us, whether human or Pokemon, begins our journey from the humblest of origins. Join us as we traverse the globe, unraveling unseen sights and unheard tales. I am Professor Palm, your guide on this extraordinary expedition," the narrator declares.

The camera shifts once more, its gaze now fixated on the esteemed Professor Palm. Clad in a safari outfit, the Professor perches confidently on one of the numerous tree branches overlooking the lively Pidgey community.

"Welcome!" he exclaims, spreading his arms wide, as though beckoning the world to behold its wonders. "To Planet-"

A sudden wobble disrupts the Professor's poised stance, causing him to lose his balance. He tumbles through the lush foliage below, the camera seamlessly capturing every moment of his unexpected descent.

"Shit! Cut!" A voice cries in the distance, as all the Pidgey flies up into the air over the commotion.

"I-I'm okay!"
