Author's Note: Buenas tardes, todos. This story is an Izuku Ultraman story. Mi creativo mente has been driving me nuts since I've been watching the Ultraman anime. Not only do they have some awesome powers, but the suits are off the scales. Now (spoiler) I understand that there is going to be an Ultrawoman. Anyway, this prologue is just to get the ball rolling. So enjoy this short introduction.
Prologue
The world was once known as a planet of crude and defenseless race of people that could not even achieve interstellar travel. As such, the planet that humans call home became a target. Not only were humans considered an excellent, and replenishable source of slave labor...but they were considered a delicacy among the extraterrestrial races.
As such, many of these races would travel to Earth to sate their appetites, or make profit off of the human race. One such event saw the coming of a savior to the primitive people.
In his pursuit of the being, Bemular, a being from the world of light visited Earth. There, he saw the potential of mankind, and merged with one to them, giving life to the Hero known as Ultraman.
Through the centuries that followed the arrival, humans began to rapidly evolve and adapt due to the presence of aliens on their planets and something miraculous began.
Whether it was due to exposure to a new threat, a pathogen introduced by another race, or simple evolution the human race began to develop mutations that would later become known as Quirks.
These Quirks would give rise to something entirely unforeseen. A superhuman society where even the weakest of them all could achieve something great through the use of their Quirk.
However, even as the being of light saw how much good could come from these new superhumans, he also saw the potential for great evil. And so the rise of those known as Super Villains began. These Super Villains would use their Quirks, not for the sake of others but for the sake of themselves and their selfish desires. Money, power, status and dominion were their goals.
However, due to the mighty force that was Ultraman, those that desired peace and prosperity took it upon themselves to stand up and fight back against the growing chaos caused by the Super Villains. Ultraman no longer fought alone against the evils plaguing the planet Earth. Alongside him now stood brave men and women willing to risk their lives for the sake of others; thus began the rise of Super Heroes.
But even though the Heroes fought against the Villains, chaos still ran rampant. For centuries the world seemed to have gone insane as the fighting continued nonstop.
Finally, the governments of the Earth found a way to ensure that there would always be Heroes to fight Villains. Schools and training facilities were constructed to teach and groom young people into the world's finest Heroes. The new Heroes were paid to fight and keep the peace whenever they were called upon.
Soon, thousands of young Heroes stepped out into the world to take up the fight against the evil that was brought upon the world by the Villains. Leading the charge was the ever present Ultraman. No one knew how, or why the being survived for so long as hundreds of years had passed since he had bonded with a human. Whether it was by Quirk, or by a power passed on from parent to child, Ultraman was a constant source of inspiration for young Heroes.
Until one day, someone rose up to stand side by side with the great Hero.
All Might. His age, identity, and his Quirk were a complete mystery to all of those around him. Yet this towering behemoth of a man had the strength to stand side by side with one of the greatest Heroes that had ever existed. The two fought together for years against Villains both terrestrial and extraterrestrial alike.
They were the symbols that society needed after so many long years of fear and hatred. Ultraman's near unrivaled power, and All Might's incredible strength coupled with their imposing figures brought about an era of peace as the worst of the Villains shrunk away from the light of day and crept into the shadows.
All Might and Ultraman had won the day after centuries of battle.
However, the constant presence of Ultraman was not as simple as people thought it was. There was no passing down of power through parent and child, there was no lineage to be followed. No bloodline to trace.
ウルトラマン
"Happy birthday, Izuku," said a group of people to the tiny boy sitting at the table. The boy was very small, even for the age of four, but his eyes were big, bright and full of life as he took a deep breath and blew out the candles on his cake. The group, which included his parents, close family friends affectionately known as aunts and uncles to the boy, and his friends, all clapped.
Hisashi Midoriya, the boy's father reached over and ruffled the boy's mop of unruly hair green/black hair, "Did you make your wish?" He asked as the boy grinned at him.
"Uh-huh, I wanna be a really great Hero when I grow up!" The boy proclaimed to the amusement of his guests.
"You dummy, you're not supposed to tell!" Laughed his best friend, Katsuki Bakugo, who received a slap to the back of his head courtesy of his mother. "Ow, what the heck, Mom!"
She glowered down at the boy, "You know what that was for, brat," She huffed as the cake was sliced up and given out, "I've told you before not to be so mean to others, or else it'll come back and bite you!"
The table laughed as the boy grumbled at his mother before turning to his cake. Off to the boy's left stood a a very tall, muscular man, with his blond hair tied back, "You must be proud of such an energetic boy, Hisashi," he said as the boys were eating, "I can certainly see where he gets that hair from, and those freckles!" He laughed as the man blushed beneath the diamond patterned freckles he and his son shared, while both parents had a hand in his hair, what with Hisashi's being an absolute mess, while his mother had dark green, straight hair.
The boy's mother, Inko Midoriya, smiled at her son, "He may be a mess, but he's my treasure." She said, "And I'm so glad you and Melissa could make it, Toshinori," she said as she glanced at the tiny little blonde girl sitting next to her son, "It's just a shame that David and Alison couldn't make it. Izuku was really looking forward to seeing what kind of new gadgets his 'Uncle David' would make this time."
Toshinori just rubbed the back of his neck, "Well, you know how the business is," the man gave a deep sigh, "Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I hardly get the time for myself anymore."
Mitsuki Bakugo gave the blond man a look, "Huh, I thought you were pretty low on the Hero totem pole, Toshi?" She asked, making the man twitch while Hisashi just snickered, "I mean, I've never even seen you on the news."
"Er, well, I...yes, I'm pretty low," he sighed, tongue in cheek, "But I'm no less kept busy."
Mitsuki nodded in understanding, "That's true. Inko used to tell me that Hisashi would come home utterly exhausted on the easiest of days," she said to which the man himself choke on the punch he was drinking, "It's a good thing you decided to retire before you got too popular."
"Ye-yes, it sure is," Inko was trying to suppress her giggles as she cleaned her husband up.
Hisashi cleared his throat, "That it is, erm, Toshi, do you mind if we step outside? I need to talk to you." Toshinori nodded as the two of them headed for the door. The hot July air had them sweating already, even though it was already near dusk.
"So," Toshinori asked as the man leaned against the railing of the appartment complex, "What's got you so worried, old friend?"
Hisashi leaned on his arms, a deep frown on his face, "Izuku..."
Toshinori gave him a worried look, "What about him?" He asked, growing worried, "Is there something wrong with him?"
Hisashi hung his head low, "He...he hasn't manifested a Quirk, yet."
"Well, that's not so strange, he just turned four today, Hisashi," he reached out and placed his hand on the older man's shoulder, "He may be a late bloomer."
Hisashi shook his head, "You don't understand," his hands gripped the railing as the blond man saw the metal crumple underneath his grip. "He's strong, Toshi. Stronger than any four-year-old has any business of being!" He looked at the man, "The other day at the park, I watched him climb a tree...he fell..."
Toshinori looked back the man, then at the door where he heard laughter and shouts from inside, "He...he doesn't look injured?"
Hisashi shook his head, "No...he fell several feet, but I watched him get right back up and brush himself off." He leaned his head in his hands, "I asked if he was hurt, but he said he felt fine. Not a scratch, not a scrape or even a lump on his head!" He brought his fist down on the metal, bending it further out of shape. "What have I done to my child, Toshi?"
Toshinori reached out and gripped his shoulder, "Don't even think like that. He's your son, and he's going to be a fine Hero someday, just like you were when you were still Ultraman!"
"My Quirk was Fire Breath, Toshi," he said, "But the strength? The durability?" He sighed, "That's all from Ultraman...I knew that I'd be different when I separated from him, but I never...my son..." Tears began flowing from his eyes, "What's going to happen to him? If people found out - !"
"If someone finds out about your son, then he will be a great Hero," Toshinori said, "And you know that I'll protect him, and so will you!"
Hisashi sighed, "You know that I'll do everything in my power to protect that boy," he smiled, "He's everything to me...but I expected that boy to have something like my old Quirk or Inko's...maybe even a combination...but look at him now...Toshi...he doesn't have a Quirk!" He looked at the man forlornly, "He's...like I was...like I am now..."
Toshinori sighed, "Hisashi, it's gonna be alright. David's been working on a project that...well," he looked down at the streets four stories below them while Hisashi gave him a look of confusion, "Ever since you...retired...he's been working on some form of space travel, and...a suit."
"Suit?" Hisashi queried.
"Ever since you gave up being Ultraman, and he left Earth, David's thought about what might happen to your son, or any children you might have," Toshinori explained, "If Izuku displayed any sort of powers that were similar to what you had as Ultraman, then he would need a suit to help regulate all of that power."
Hisashi nodded in understanding, "And the ship?"
"A prototype. He calls it the VCX series." He chuckled, "Supposed to be the next big thing in travel. But...he also wanted to find Ultraman's homeworld." He said, looking at Hisashi. "We may find some answers if we can get out there?"
"Or attract the wrong attention." Hisashi said, "Remember, humans are food to ninety percent of the population out there." He looked up at the darkening sky, "But maybe you're right...maybe I could find a way to - "
"Let him be the next Ultraman?" Toshinori grinned.
Hisashi smiled. A small vision of the future manifested in his mind. His son, all grown up and dressed in red and silver...
