Author's Note: Caray, I never believed that this story would gain such a following! And that was just from a prologue chap! But if you guys think that our Hero is going to have an easy time of it just because his dad was one of the Ultramen, then I'm afraid that you are in for a rude awakening. As seen in manga and anime, Ultraman is not always everyone's Hero.

P.S. Izuku won't be getting OFA in this story either. And Bakugo...well, he's not as...who am I kidding, he's an ass!

The life of Izuku Midoriya was not what one would consider good. To know why, one would have to start a few days after his fourth birthday, when his father was testing a new space exploration ship built by a family friend; David Shield.

His father, a former Hero under the name of Flare, had insisted on testing it himself, and Izuku thought that it was the coolest thing in the Universe to see his father sitting in the pilot's chair of what his Uncle David had called the VCX-100 light freighter. It was meant to be a small type of cargo ship that brought supplies to space stations and exploration teams that were stationed around the solar system. It was designed to be small, fast, and energy efficient.

But when the freighter had gone into orbit, something had gone terribly wrong. It was written in the reports that some kind of debris had hit the small freighter, causing heavy damage to it. All that Izuku knew was that he never saw his father again.

That had been one of the worst days of his life.

The worst was yet to come, however, when the doctors told him that he was Quirkless. Something he knew to be untrue. You see, Izuku had a form of super strength. He even proved it by lifting some of the heavier equipment in the doctor's office. This sparked an investigation which still resulted in him, technically, being Quirkless. However, just because the doctors said that he didn't have a Quirk, didn't mean that Izuku gave up his dreams.

His dream was to become a great Hero, like his idols, All Might and Ultraman.

So from that day forward, he began training his power sot that he could use it properly. His mother worried about him nonstop, which led to a small habit of stress eating, but the boy was not to be deterred.

His friend at the time, Katsuki Bakugo, had gone along with the idea of him becoming a Hero, but boasted that he would never be the kind of Hero that he himself would be. A few years later their friendship wasn't what it used to be as the boy with super strength and the boy with an explosive Quirk drifted down different paths to becoming Heroes.

Katsuki thought himself superior to most if not all others considering his Quirk was so powerful, while Izuku's power seemed to be only super strength, a common power that many Heroes had, even All Might. As such, the teachers in their schools were lavish praise on the boy for having such a strong and versatile Quirk. And that had bloated his ego to an extreme degree.

Their friendship came to an end one faithful day when the boy had started picking on another student that had no Quirk at all. Izuku stepped in, and took the brunt of the punishment, but when his friend reached out to shove him, the boy had defended himself by grabbing the offending hand, and, by pure accident, snapped it.

No punishment was given to either child, however, the damage was done, and Katsuki ceased anything resembling friendship toward the boy. Izuku hated himself for hurting him. To the point that he was almost afraid of his power. It wasn't a Quirk, or so he was told, so why was he so strong?

If it was a Quirk, then why didn't he have his father's Fire Breath, or his mother's Telekinetic Quirk? Why was he so different than other children? He didn't know. All that he did know was that from that point on, he trained himself to restrain his power so that he would never hurt anyone again.

ウルトラマン

Izuku Midoriya Age 14...Tatooine Station...

A large crowd had gathered around the area as he was heading to school. He looked up with a smile as a figure lept over the buildings, "Woah, was that Kamui Woods?" Shouted an excited girl as she held up her phone to take a picture of the fight going on at the station.

"Yeah, I heard Death Arms drove a Villain into a wall, and the guy totally went berserk!" Said another girl as the giant Villain smashed into the train station.

Izuku smiled as he pushed his way to the front of the crowd, careful of the people standing around and making sure to give a nod toward Back Draft as the firefighter directed the crowd.

"I'm sorry, Sir, but there's been a Villain attack at the station," said a sharply dressed man as he spoke into his phone, "I've got no idea when I'll be able to make it in!" He held the phone away from his ear with a wince before placing it back, "I'll be sure to take a video, Sir."

Izuku finally managed to push his way to the front, holding out a notebook, "Hey, who's fighting?" He asked.

A man next to him grinned, "It's that newbie, Kamui something-or-other."

Izuku's face immediately lit up, "It's Kamui Woods, the newest rising star right after Hawks!" He smiled as he started writing down in his book while he watched the young Hero work.

The man leaned over and took a look, "Whoa, those are some detailed notes, kid, you some kind'a Hero nerd?"

Izuku just smiled as he finished writing the entry, "Something like that," he said as Kamui attempted to use his signature move...right before someone else butted in.

"CANYON CANNON!" Yelled a boisterous voice as another giant came leaping over the tracks and drove a flying kick into the giant Villain's face. Izuku held back a blush as the giant woman, not at all shy about her revealing costume, showed off her ass to the crowd, "Nice to meet you all," she said in a friendly voice, "My name's Mount Lady, and today's my big debut. So you can just leave this bum to me."

Izuku nearly groaned at the horrible pun, and the obvious flaunting of her body. The crowd behind him wasn't underwhelmed as he was at the moment, and started taking pictures of the woman.

The boy shook his head as he opened up his notebook again and started writing, "Gigantification, huh, that's bound to attract attention, but it's not perfect since I bet there's some limits on where her size can - "

"You're taking notes, on her, too?" The man from before grinned, "You must be wanting to become a Hero yourself, huh?"

That had the boy smiling widely as he finished up and snapped the book closed, "Well, yeah." He said and turned away to head off, "After all, I need to make my dad proud of me."

...

Izuku didn't hate many things, but if he could name one thing it would have to be the way that the teachers of his school let students be as loud as they wanted. True, it didn't bother him all that much, but it made it much harder to concentrate on his school work, which he found he was lacking in (he'd gotten a C on his last report card).

It wasn't the teachers' fault, not entirely. The principle of the school was a bit of a fame hog, which meant he liked to show off his prized students. Of which he was one of them out of two: the other was his former friend (though he still considered him a friend) Katsuki Bakugo.

"Now, settle down everyone," the teacher said, "I'll be handing out some life goal printouts in a few moments," he smiled at the class, then carelessly tossed the stack of papers in the air, "Oh, who am I kidding? You all want to be Heroes, right?"

The class erupted in a unanimous shout of "YEAH!" as they all activated their various Quirks. Most of them were Mutation type Quirks, but the two the remained calm and seated were Izuku and Katsuki as latter just grinned. Izuku was working on his notebook while the teacher tried to calm them down, advising them not to use their Quirks in the classroom.

"Hey, teach," Katsuki called out with his feet up on the desk, "Don't lump me together with the rest of these extras," he sneered cockily, "I'm in a whole 'nother league compared to them!"

"Oh, shut up, Bakugo!"

"You're always shooting your mouth off!"

"Yeah, butt out!"

The blond set off a mini-explosion in his palm, "You guys wanna say that again?" The quieted right now.

The teacher just smiled indulgently, "That's right, I'd forgotten that you were going to try for the U.A." The man said, "For those of you that don't know, U.A. is the top Hero School on a national level with students coming in from all over the world to simply try for the Hero course they offer." He explained while Izuku just rolled his eyes and kept working. "Their courses are extremely competitive, and there are only two classes in those halls that actually train Heroes. Which means that for all the hundreds of students that apply, only forty are allowed entrance, and some of them don't even make it to their final years."

Katsuki was grinning widely as the teacher listed of the difficulties of the school, "That's right, and that means only the best of the best make it there," he said, "Which means it's perfect for me!"

The teacher frowned for a moment in thought, "Now that I think of it: Midoriya, didn't you want to attend that school, too?" He asked, drawing all eyes on him. Now, despite what one might think about the boy, he was quite scrawny. With his slightly baggy uniform on a person couldn't see passed his thin figure to the well-toned muscle structure of his arms and body.

Add to the fact that he was rather plain-looking, at least in his opinion, and was rather timid despite his strength, Midoriya was not one someone could see getting into U.A.

"Midoriya?" One of the students said, "Uh, doesn't he have a strength-enhancing Quirk?"

"Yeah, he's kind'a strong, but not that strong," a girl behind him said, making his he droop. It wasn't like he wanted to hold back so much. He couldn't turn his strength off!

Suddenly, Katsuki moved, and Izuku's instinct screamed at him to save his notebook. Just in time as the blond slammed his hand against the top of his desk with an added explosion, "Hey!"

"Dammit, Deku!" Katsuki shouted in his face, "Are you still trying to get in my way?!"

Izuku frowned, "No, I'm not!" He said to his former friend, "Is it so wrong to want to go there myself?"

"It is when it's pointless!" He grabbed the boy by the front of his uniform with his smoking palm, "I'm warning you - " He didn't get to finish as Izuku reached up and grasped his wrist, squeezing tightly. Katsuki tried not to show any indication of pain, but his eye twitched violently.

"I forget," the green-haired boy said calmly, "Was it the left wrist, or the right that last time?" He asked and Katsuki absolutely snarled at him. "Or, since I need to pick her up at the port today, I can mention to Melissa a little something about your collection?"

Now the blond paled, "How the fuck do you know about that?!"

"Aunt Mistuki showed it to me months ago."

"That damned hag! What I do in my room is my damned business!"

"The only thing you do in your room is pull the lint off your -!"

"Boys!" The teacher shouted over the laughter that erupted around the classroom, "Keep it friendly! Bakugo, back to your seat! Midoriya, let him go!" Izuku did as he was told and released the boy while Katsuki grudgingly returned to his seat.

The class returned to order for a short time as they filled out their career plans. By the time they were finished and handed in the final bell rang, signaling the end of the day for the students. The room was emptied out quickly, Izuku hanging back because he didn't want to get caught in the rush. Of course, as usual, his day couldn't go completely smooth.

As he was putting his books away, Katsuki and his minions strutted up to him. "Deku!"

"I really wish you wouldn't call me that," the boy muttered tiredly, "What is it now, Kacchan?"

The blond's eye twitched as his two minions snickered, "Don't even think about applying to U.A."

"I don't have to think about it," Izuku said with a small shrug as he shoulder his back, "I am going to apply for U.A." He said and made to leave the room while making sure to give the explosive blond plenty of room. "And you have no right to tell me what to do, Kacchan."

"Why you -!" He made a grab for him with his smoking palms, but Izuku saw if coming easily. He pushed the offending hand down, then gave a light backhand to his chest...sending the boy crashing against the wall.

Well, he had thought it had been light. Inside, Izuku was panicking, but he tried not to show it. Though he knew that his arm was trembling because he had just inadvertently hurt his friend, and his heart was hammering into his ribs. Katsuki was just getting back to his feet when Izuku turned his back on him. "Deku!" He shouted after him, "Don't you dare look down on me, you bastard!"

Izuku paused at the door, turning his head slightly, "If I were looking down on you, then I'd want nothing to do with you," the boy said with a sad tone in his voice, "But you're still my friend. No matter what you think, I still feel guilt about hurting you then...and now." He left the room, leaving the boy fuming.

Izuku sighed as he made his way out of the school, trying to keep his chin up a little since he knew one of his few friends and uncle were coming to visit.

ウルトラマン

In the last ten years of his life, Musutafu had undergone several changes thanks to his uncle. David Shield, a former sidekick to his idol, and favorite Hero, was now the leading expert in technology, and interplanetary travel. The freighter that his father had piloted had been just the start of it. While the ship had been a prototype, the VCX was now a well known, and safely used freighter for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial travel between continents, and the many space stations that were now hovering above the planet.

Since the time of Ultraman had ended with the last of the alien races leaving the planet, Earth's own exploration of the solar system had begun in earnest. Now thanks to David, who studied alien technology and how it could be integrated for Earth's use, space travel was now quite common. The ships used on the surface were never very large unless they were returning from space. The largest he had seen were the latest in I-Island production, the CR90 Corvette, which was one hundred and fifty meters in length.

What Izuku found really impress though were the ports themselves. Five years ago, David had created the Harbor-Class Space Dock, which could host several large ships at once. Now, those that were retired from spacial docking, were being put to use on Earth. Where seafaring luxury cruise ships once docked was now reserved for fishing boats. Above them now were the gigantic space docks connected to the ports by large elevator shafts which the passengers would use to board and disembark from the ships.

As Izuku ascended the elevator, he found himself smiling at the view, never getting tired of seeing the city from so high up. "Makes me wish I could fly," he thought idly as the elevator dinged and let him out into the docking area. He spotted his uncle and family friend almost right away. The man was tall, and blond, just like his daughter, though she was a few feet shorter, she was still much taller than Izuku.

"Uncle David! Melissa!" He called out as he raced over.

The girl turned in his direction and beamed, "Izuku!" She ran to meet him, hugging him around his neck, "It's been ages!"

"Not that long," Izuku grinned at her, "We talk over the phone all the time!"

Melissa giggled and swatted his shoulder, "That's not the same!"

David was laughing as he came up to the pair, "Good to see you, Izuku," the man said as he shook the boy's hand, "How've you been?"

"Good," Izuku smiled, noticing the briefcase the man was carrying, "Do you need any help with your luggage?"

"Nah, this is nothing," he said, gesturing to the elevator, "Shall we get going? I don't wanna get mobbed by reporters."

Izuku readily agreed, "Where's Uncle Toshinori?" He asked, not seeing his other official uncle, "Is he not with you?"

David shook his head, "He actually came ahead of us since All Might's been transferred back to Japan," Izuku looked at him in excitement, "I figured he would've told you sooner that he was back?"

Izuku frowned, "Well, after his accident, he doesn't really..."

David rolled his eyes, "Don't mind him all that much, Izuku," the man sighed, "He means well, but he doesn't like to worry your mother with his health."

Izuku nodded, "I wish he would," the boy lamented, "It'd be nice if Mom had someone else in her life after..." He trailed off as David looked down, "Sorry!" The boy yelped, "That wasn't what I - I mean I - "

Melissa placed his hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry about it," she said, "Daddy just doesn't like to remember that day."

David's fingers tightened around the case he was carrying, "Yes, it's...not my fondest memory." He said, "Erm, how is your power coming along?" He asked, hoping to change the subject, "Have you gotten a handle on your strength?"

Izuku frowned and rubbed at his neck, "I...no...no I haven't," the boy sighed, "I try to hold back so much, but it still comes to the surface whatever I'm doing."

David smiled at the boy and patted his back, "I'm sorry, Izuku...but maybe I can help you this time?" He said, lifting the case, "Let's go meet up with your mother before I say anything, alright? She and I need to have a long talk about a few things anyway."

They entered the elevator and descended back down into the city.
