Spider-Man: Unexpected Returns

A short prologue for the upcoming first story of a Spider-Man series I'm planning, hope you enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Spider-Man or its characters.

Prologue

The office was only dimly lit, despite it being night time, this had the effect of making the figure seated at the desk be hidden in shadow, at least his head, the upper part of his body. The figure was somewhat well built with broad shoulders, wearing a neat blue coloured suit, the figure had their hands clasped on the desk as they watched the figure who just entered, another tall figure clad in a suit, this one darker in colour. His face wasn't hidden in shadow but still couldn't truly be seen as it was covered in a plain, featureless white mask which covered his whole head, allowing only a pair of blue eyes to show through simple eye holes. There was a slit at the mouth area, enough for the person to get food or drink through. Stopping before the desk, the masked figure set a folder on the desk in front of the other who opened the folder and began looking through the photos and documents inside.

"So...everything is as we suspected?" The shadowy figure remarked.

"Yes sir." The masked man said. "We're still going to need a distraction to move our forces in."

The shadowy figure nodded. "True...very true…"

He lapsed into silence for a moment before he seemed to decide.

"Is he here yet?"

The masked figure tensed, eyes narrowing, the only hint of an emotion of dislike he seemed to be showing.

"Not yet, but soon, tomorrow at the latest." He said gruffly.

That seemed to satisfy the shadowy figure.

Looking down at the documents and pictures again, the shadowy figure let out an amused sounding chuckle.

"Well...I can take care of the distraction. You get our forces in and prepare any necessary...disguises you may need, Chameleon." The Shadowy figure said casually.

The Chameleon smirked at that before remarking. "Yes sir...By the way, you've heard the latest rumours about Spider-Man, haven't you?"

"Oh?"

"Yes." Chameleon laughed shortly. "He's taken on a little protege, an inexperienced youth, who we might be able to take advantage of in that regard."

The Shadowy figure seemed to consider that, turning the chair around to face the window, looking out at the skyline.

"Interesting." He said at last. "We'll definitely have to consider it...but first, we must focus on our main target before worrying about Spider-Man, or his little underling."

The Chameleon nodded in agreement, looking down at the photo left on top, of who their main target was. The photo was a portrait of the most dangerous and well connected man in New York, Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime.

End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
