Edmond was watering his vegetable garden. He was looking very upset that day.
"Elder Kettle, why are you looking so depressed today?" Cuphead said.
Edmond sighed.
"Boys, I never told you this secret, I've been hiding it for thousands of years from you, but I think you need to hear it." Edmond said.
"What is this secret?" Mugman said.
"During the Sugarbell wars, I had a best friend that loved me. She always said I was like the little brother she never had. She was my only family. My family hated me and neglected me. I ended up on a orphanage and it was their fault. What do you think of a old idiot like me being a viscountess' closest friend?" Edmond said.
"You aren't a idiot!!! It was your family's fault, not yours!!! And there is nothing wrong with being a monarchy's close friend!!! She liked you because you only was being yourself to her. And Chalice looked like she was a person that didn't care about people being only normal people living on a kingdom. A monarchy deserves a friend if she is doing what is correct for her kingdom, and if it's working all right!!!" Mugman said.
Edmond hugged tightly his boys.
"You two are my family, along with Ms. Chalice." Edmond said.
