A coffin slowly made its way through the crowded streets of the sleepy town, borne on the shoulders of six burly men in immaculate suits. Anyone with a passing knowledge of the sleepy town could tell you that practically every citizen was out there to pay tribute to one of the most respected men of the town. Despite the massive turnout, the crowd gathered around the grave was rather small, the wider residents of the town allowing those who knew the man the best the chance to pay their respects in privacy.
As the small crowd of close friends and colleagues gather around the grave, a lone figure stands off unseen beneath the shadow of a nearby tree. Watching as the coffin is slowly lowered into the ground, the figure curses softly to himself before removing a phone from his pocket. Hitting the speed dial, he slowly begins making his way out of the graveyard by one of its less crowded gates.
"Hello? Yes sir, I can hear you," the man spoke quietly in English, but didn't expect anyone in the crowd to be listening. Most of the locals probably only spoke Japanese, and anyone more important would be beside the grave right now. "I'm sorry sir, I can confirm the news. Yes, I witnessed the funeral not twenty or thirty seconds ago. Yes sir. Of course sir."
As he passes through the crowds into the now deserted streets of the town, the man walks briskly past a corner store with newspapers on display. He paid no attention at all to the top headline;
MORIOH TIMES; Doctor, philanthropist and local celebrity Higashikata Josuke, dead at the age of 84.
