Separated
Harry and Ron waited anxiously among the students for the sorting ceremony. Meanwhile, Hermione was bragging to the other students about how much she knew about the school. "Shut up, Hermione, we don't wanna know!" Ron hissed.
"Well, to make matters worse, your rat is biting my book," Hermione tried flinging Scabbers, Ron's pet rat, off her book, but he clung to it as if he were holding onto it for dear life. "So? And don't hurt my Scabbers," Ron snatched Scabbers away, scowling. Hermione shot him a dirty look before turning away and disappearing into the crowd.
Of course, Hermione wasn't nervous, she was absolutely ecstatic. When Professor McGonagoll called her name, she might as well have skipped to the stool. She tried not to burst into an excited smile, but the corners of her mouth kept twitching. If you think the Sorting Hat chose Gryffindor, you're quite wrong. "Ravenclaw!" The Hat shrieked. Hermione's eager smile dropped a bit. "Are you kidding?" She muttered. "I'm afraid not, Ms Granger." Hermione finally got on her feet and walked to Ravenclaw Table where they erupted in cheers. "Welcome to the group!" A sixth-year boy slapped her on the back. "Sure," Hermione said, with a last glance at Gryffindor Table.
Harry was breaking down in nerves. She shuddered and shook the whole time, not even Ron was helping. Hermione was finally accepting the fact that she was in Ravenclaw and a small smile grew on her face. "Potter, Harry," McGonagall called. He gulped. Uh-oh, him. He went to the stool and sat down, and couldn't even put on the Hat, because he was shaking too much. "Hmm, let's see…" The Hat whispered. "Where to put you?" Harry squeezed his eyes shut, praying he wouldn't get Slytherin. But, unfortunately… "Slytherin!"
"Are you serious?" Harry grew furious. "Eh, whatever." He dragged his feet all the way to Slytherin Table, where Draco Malfoy was beaming at him. "Well? Do we have a deal or what?"
Ron's jaw dropped to the floor as he saw his best friend go and sit next to Malfoy, the one person he despised. His feet got tired of standing, and he got impatient. Finally, after what seemed like forever, it was Ron's turn. There was one problem though… "Hufflepuff!" What? Ron was put in the worst house ever. "What the hell?" He mumbled, mad. He yanked off the Hat and slammed it down on the stool, and stomped over to Hufflepuff Table, sulking. "Oh dear," Dumbledore said to himself. "Something is wrong."
Harry, Ron and Hermione had made a promise. "A promise to stay friends forever," they swore. But, Harry forgot all about that. He was living his best life with Draco. "Y'know, you're the best bud I've ever had." Harry said one night, flopping on his bed after a pillow fight. "Oh yeah?" Draco chuckled. "What about that "promise" you made with Weasel Boy and that Mudblood girl."
"How do you know about that?" Harry suddenly felt uneasy.
"Oh, I might've eavesdropped, but I said maybe!" Draco stuttered as he saw Harry's look. "Oh well, I don't really care anymore. You're way better than them." Harry flashed a smile. Draco smiled back. Their lives were perfect.
"I feel like Harry doesn't wanna be friends with us anymore," Hermione said in tears to Ron as they walked to class. "Yeah, he's always hanging around with that little idiot, Malfoy." Hermione sniffed. Just then, they saw Harry and Malfoy surrounded by Crabbe, Goyle and a crowd of adored girls. "Isn't he just the cutest?" Ron and Hermione heard a girl sigh to her friend. "It's more Potter I'm into. Those eyes and that smile… eeh!" Her friend hugged herself, smiling. Hermione rolled her eyes. It was easy to say that Malfoy and Harry were the popular ones.
Harry decided to throw the "best friend promise" out the window. He ignored Ron and Hermione no matter how hard they tried, and Ron was getting sick of it. "I swear I'm gonna punch that guy one day," he growled.
"Ron, please don't get violent," Hermione whispered. Even Harry laughed at Malfoy calling Ron "Weasel Boy" and Hermione "Filthy Mudblood". And thus, their relationship ended, and Harry ended up marrying another girl in Slytherin. "His parents wouldn't be proud," Hermione shook her head. Neither was Sirius, Harry's godfather. They were… separated.
