A/N: A Woeful Lament is the second part of this series and told from Tyler's point of view.

The song is called You Are The Reason by Calum Scott.

There goes my heart beating
'Cause you are the reason
I'm losing my sleep
Please come back now

Tyler was working when she first appeared out of nowhere, a vision in black and white. Pale skin, dark eyes and black braids that shouldn't look as good as they did on a girl around his age. For a moment, everything stopped.

Then he noticed her uniform, black and white as it was.

Nevermore. She was an Outcast.

Recovering from his shock from her sudden appearance in the cloud of steam, Tyler shot her his best customer smile as he asked the girl, "What can I get you?"

"I need a quad over ice. It's an emergency." She replied in an impressive monotone that made his lips twitch up despite himself, especially when he saw the slight surprise in her dark eyes when he actually knew what a quad was.

Smirking on the inside he told her, "All we have is drip."

Tyler could almost see the horror in her dark eyes at the prospect of having to drink drip coffee and carefully hid his dark satisfication. Normie Tyler Galpin wasn't supposed have an edge, sweet summer child he pretended to be. It was fun to see the reactions he could get out of this new girl who clearly disliked showing emotions.

"Drip is for people who hate themselves and know their lives have no real purpose or meaning." Was her completely deadpan reply. Tyler saw the sheepish reaction of the man standing by the drip coffee and barely held back another smirk.

Startled, Tyler realised that the goth girl was making it hard for him to hold onto the mask of Normie barrista Tyler Galpin.

She wasn't like the spoiled brats he usually served their cup of coffee. She didn't look down on him and his need to work, unlike her rich classmates. No, instead she actually helped him after it became clear she wouldn't be getting her iced quad otherwise. He'd never met a Nevermore student who got their hands dirty before.

It was enthralling, watching her reach into the Espresso machine with her tiny hands, fixing it deftly and quickly. The girl was smart, spoke multiple languages and was handy with machines. He already liked her and he didn't even know her name, his Machiavelli reading Grim Reaper Barbie.

Wednesday Addams.

And there goes my mind racing
And you are the reason
That I'm still breathing
I'm hopeless now

She was walking next to him when she told him almost casually in her usual inflectionless tone, "I'm not used to people engaging with me. Most see me coming and cross the street."

A spike of fury went through him as he told her, "You're not scary. You are just a kind of kooky."

What was wrong with people? How could this girl, this wonderful girl, ever be ignored and avoided? Wednesday was beautiful, honest, and brilliant and Tyler never hated other people more. She had seen him in his Hyde shape and hadn't been afraid, didn't falter. His monster and the girl had looked at each other and she hadn't given a flinch.

Not even his master managed that.

Tyler knew he wasn't normal. He'd known that since long before his Hyde was forced out by Laurel Gates. He relished in the manupulation of others too much, enjoyed control too much for him to ever be normal. Tyler had been hiding who he really was for so long that his Normie mask felt as much part of him as his true self. He wondered what Kinbott would say if he ever stopped hiding who he really was.

But Wednesday, Wednesday was honest about who she was and that was what started his obsession. She was unapologetic about her macabre interests, her cruel words and interest in medieval torture techniques. Seeing her, gasping as she was thrown against the tree by an invisible force controlled by the Outcast watching her, Tyler had never enjoyed a kill more as he did when he killed the boy who dared to try to kill Wednesday Addams.

Tyler almost did a double take when he saw her dark lips twitch at his answer. Quite seriously she told him, "I prefer spooky."

Wednesday Addams was more like him than he ever could have imagined, this girl who was an outcast even among the Outcasts.

I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
Oh, 'cause I need you to see
That you are the reason

Wednesday Addams was the key. Of course the first girl he actually really liked was part of his master's plan. He hadn't really minded having a master before, not after giving in finally made the pain stop. He liked the freedom it gave him. He liked the hunt, the killing. The power.

He didn't like how she kept touching him, calling herself his mama of all things. He didn't like what she was planning, her revenge on the Outcasts.

Tyler was furious with the Outcasts and their hypocrisy in banning Hydes from the school. He seethed when he thought about how perhaps he would still have his mother if they hadn't expelled her for something she couldn't change about herself.

But he didn't want to harm children for the sins of their parents.

His master didn't care, all she cared about was her revenge. She wanted to eradicate all Outcasts from the world and she was going to use him to do it. Laurel had commanded him to keep a close eye on Wednesday. To protect and distract her until it was time for Wednesday to do her part in Laurel's insane revenge scheme.

Tyler hated his master.

But he didn't mind keeping an eye on Wednesday.

There goes my hands shaking
And you are the reason
My heart keeps bleeding
I need you now

He did his best not to kill Wednesday's little bee friend. He saw how her eyes softened when she talked about the younger boy and he didn't want to ruin their night anymore than it already was. When Thing brought him the surprisingly sweet invitation to join her as her date for the Rave'N, he knew it hadn't actually been her who invited him.

Wednesday Addams didn't do sweet.

But how could he refuse if there was even the slightest chance of spending time with her?

Wednesday looked breathtaking, walking down the staircase in her fancy black dress and done up hair. It took all of his control not to let the Hyde out and steal a taste. It got even better when he saw Xavier Thorpe's sour face as he saw that Tyler was Wednesday's date.

They danced and Wednesday didn't disappoint. Her kooky style of dancing was oddly alluring and he couldn't take his eyes off her. And even better, Tyler noticed she couldn't keep her eyes off him either.

"It's only paint." Her disappointment almost killed him as he fought the urge to offer to get her some real blood for her to be covered in. He adored this bloodthristy girl of his. How he wished he could tell her he was the monster she was so obsessed with. How he wished she was his master and not the sickening woman who thought herself oh so smart as she rambled about the evilness of Outcasts.

But Laurel Gates was his master and so he obeyed her every word. So Tyler didn't do anything to warn Wednesday, he didn't show her the real him underneath his masks no matter how sure Tyler was she would like him even better as his true self. He couldn't.

But he could safe the little bee boy Wednesday cared about.

After all, 'taking care' of something was an order open to interpretation.

Laurel did not appreciate his so-called failure to keep others away from their 'special place'. Still, it was worth it. Eugene survived even if Tyler spent the night chained in the Gates House as his master punished him.

And as Tyler clawed his own skin off while his master watched him with a cruel smile on her face, he thought about a kooky girl in her fancy black dress.

And if I could turn back the clock
I'd make sure the light defeated the dark
I'd spend every hour, of every day
Keeping you safe

Wednesday thought that Xavier Thorpe was the monster she was looking for. Tyler wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. On one hand, she was furious with the monster after it'd attacked Eugene. On the other hand, she was focused on Xavier Thorpe of all people.

He didn't like the guy though he was a bit flattered by Xavier's interest in him, Xavier Thorpe was a very good artist and he captured his Hyde perfectly. Still, Tyler would very much prefer it if it was only Wednesday who obsessed over him.

He still didn't know what to do. His master was planning on killing his girl as part of the plan to ressurect Joseph Crackstone and Tyler was powerless to stop her. The only good thing in his life right now was that Laurel had ordered him to keep distracting Wednesday.

That order was something he would do with pleasure.

He had a suitably horrifying date to plan for his macabre girl.

And I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
Oh, 'cause I need you to see
That you are the reason

Tyler kept his eyes on Wednesday as they watched Legally Blonde. Her horror filled eyes were the most beautiful things he had ever seen. She was beautiful.

Looking at her, her face almost golden because the fairy lights he'd hung around the crypt, he blurted out, "I want us to be more than friends."

Her black eyes grew wide and he almost chuckled, who knew that all that was needed to scare Wednesday Addams was sincere emotion? Her dark eyes searched his face and she said cooly, "You'll get over it."

Then he did chuckle, if a bit incredulously at her blindness concerning his feelings for her. If only that was true, but unfortunately, he was as obsessed with her as she was with his Hyde.

Apparently his amusement wasn't an appropiate reaction as she continued in an icy tone he knew was meant to scare him away, "I'm not friend material, let alone more than friend material. I'll ignore you, stomp on your heart and always put my needs and interests first."

Oh, if only he was able to tell her the truth, but the words refused to come out of his mouth. Damn Laurel for making him do this to her, to them. Wednesday was going to hate him, despise him, when she found out the truth of his betrayal.

Was it bad that he almost couldn't wait to see all of her fury aimed on him. All of her attention, all of her passion?

A shiver went through Tyler at the thought and he did the only thing he could think of anymore, he leaned in. To his surprise and elation, she didn't move away. Wednesday watched him come closer and said quietly, "You are making a mistake."

"Probably." That was probably the most honest answer he could have given her as he moved even closer at her silent permission.

"Definitely." She said in a quietly breathless tone that made goosebumbs errupt on his skin. She wanted this as much as he did, Tyler thought just before he leant in to bridge the final distance.

But then they were interrupted and Wednesday quickly stepped away from him. Damn his father, he'd never cursed his father as much as he did at that moment when he interrupted his date, the almost kiss with Wednesday.

I don't wanna fight no more
I don't wanna hide no more
I don't wanna cry no more
Come back I need you to hold me (you are the reason)

It all went down the drain so quickly. One moment he was finally kissing her, the next she was having a vision. The look on her face as she stared up at him when she came out of it, mouth still swollen and pupils dilated from their kiss, and betrayal clear on her face.

She ran. For the first time ever, Wednesday Addams ran away from him.

Her asking to meet him in a shed in the woods was surprising, but it was a whole lot less surprising when it became clear it was an ambush. Seeing Wednesday standing in front of him, surrounded by her friends, with fury and betrayal burning in her lovely black eyes, he did his best to appear as meek and tearful as possible while his murderous Valkyrie threatened to torture the answers out of him.

The others left, their stomachs too weak for what Wednesday was planning on doing, and left Tyler alone with his vengeful girl and her sparking tasers. Tyler thought she had never looked more beautiful as she did in that moment, all her rage, all her attention on him and him alone. She brought the devices closer to his skin, but once again his father stormed in and interrupted his private time with Wednesday.

Pity.

Be a little closer now
Just a little closer now
Come a little closer
I need you to hold me tonight

"The little Addams bitch is death." Laurel told him with a gloating smile as he waited for her and the resurrected Crackstone by the boat as commanded. Tyler felt his heart stop, his mind sharpen as the Hyde stepped back and let Tyler take control again.

His master sneered at him and commanded him to clean up the body of his girl.

Tyler knew that he and Wednesday were going through a rough patch right now but that didn't mean he wanted her dead or see her dead body. Approaching the crypt, he couldn't be more relieved when he saw her, alive and well, standing in the forest surrounding Nevermore.

Breath catching in his throat he said in an even voice, "Laurel said you were dead."

Her gaze burned his skin as she told him cooly, "I'm feeling much better now."

Still angry with him then, Tyler thought with an amused air that visibly raised her hackles. Still, angry with him or not, he admired a girl that could claw her way out of the maws of death.

Elated to see her impassive face alive and well, he smiled at her, "You're like a cockroach."

She rolled her eyes, "Please, flattery will get you nowhere."

That's his girl.

I'd climb every mountain
And swim every ocean
Just to be with you
And fix what I've broken
'Cause I need you to see
That you are the reason

Bound in the back of the armored police car, Tyler felt the drugs leave his system.

His father had shot him.

His girl hated him with a burning passion.

His master was dead.

Not bad, he thought as he let the Hyde burst out with a loud roar that made the armored car crash into a tree.

Not bad at all.

A/N: Let me know your thoughts?

The next one will be from the Hyde's point of view and thus will be much darker.

At least, if I manage to make it dark. Fluff is more of my thing. But now the question, which songs do you like for other characters? Like for Enid, Eugene, Xavier, Bianca etc.

Or more songs for Wednesday and Tyler.
