The Summer of 2021 was a tough one for Nathan and Allie. Both of their hearts were broken from the aftermath of May 9th, 2021. Nathan, being the Father of the Year, wanted to make lemons out of lemonade. You know that old saying! Last year Nathan and Allie planted a lemon tree close to their fishing hole, but she had forgotten that little tidbit.
Now off they go with their fishing poles and bait bag. Little did Allie know Nathan had a little fun up his sleeve! In the bait bag was all the ingredients needed for homemade lemonade. Included were 2 cups, a pitcher of cold water, and 1 cup of sugar!
You might be asking, "Where are the lemons?!" Well Nathan and Allie are going to "fish" for them.
Once they arrived at the lemon tree near the pond Nathan stopped to put his stuff down. Allie says, "Dad why are we stopping here?" Nathan responds, "We're going to make lemonade with the lemons from the tree we planted last year!" This excited Allie and next thing Nathan knows she is using the fishing rod and hook to get the lemons from the top of the tree!
He watches her laugh and smile while hooking lemons! This warms his heart because all he wants is for Allie to be happy! And it seems his plan to make lemonade has worked. But then again he knew it would. Making lemonade has always been their thing since she was a little girl!
With enough lemons for plenty of lemonade Nathan and Allie begin making it. Nathan cuts the lemons while Allie squeezes the lemon juice into the water. Once done, she mixes in the sugar.
Nathan and Allie enjoy their lemonade in the shade while fishing at their favorite pond in Hope Valley!
