Meanwhile, Sam was still being abducted into the strange spaceship. The docking port opened up and whomever was controlling the tractor beam gently placed the Desoto onto the surface.
Sam could not believe his eyes at the two aliens that stood before him.
The tallest alien appeared to be male, with huge, beefy arms and ironically tiny legs (basically Max but buffer), with only goggles, a pair of tan shorts, and black boots as clothing. The smaller alien was female, and had a relatively curvy body, with dyed, purple hair (the side of her head was shaved). She wore shoulder pads made from scrap metal, with large, protruding spikes, a black crop top, dark-green shorts with a belt and multiple pockets, along with thigh-high black boots.
"Um...hi?" Sam awkwardly spoke, hoping these aliens could understand him. "I'm Sam, what's your name?"
"Never really had a name…" the female lagomorph spoke, sharpening a piece of pipe with a long, laser sword she'd yanked from her utility belt's pocket. "Most people just call me Nova. That other guy is my brother….Gordon."
"Nova and Gordon." Sam remarked. "Heh, always thought you aliens would have much stranger names…"
"So, what brings you to our neck o' the galaxy, Earthican?" Nova inquired, leaning back on the side of her spaceship's wall. "--don't worry, we won't probe ya! Unless, however, you're into that sorta thing, then we--"
"My best friend was kidnapped on the moon by a weird tentacle!" Sam blurted out. "And not the kind that wanted to take over the world, thankfully."
"Wait, a tentacle?" Nova gasped, scratching the top of her shaven head. "What did it look like?"
"Kinda purpley…" Sam shrugged.
"Gordon, be a peach and run the scanner," Nova faced her much taller brother. "—where have we seen that tentacle before?"
Acting quickly, Gordon pulled out a hexagonal device which caused a green hologram to appear, displaying whatever results he was currently searching. The non-speaking, buff rabbit then picked up a hunk of white fur that looked similar in color to his own as well as his sister's, and pushed it into a small slot on the side of the device.
"Oh great..." Nova responded upon viewing the results of the hologram. "It's Lapin, and his stupid cosmic octopus..."
"Cosmic WHAT?!" Sam exclaimed, hysterically reaching for Nova's neck. "WHERE IS HE?!"
"Jeez Louise, calm down! Your "little pal" appears to have been taken to Lagomorphus-9." Nova spoke, making quotation marks with her index and ring fingers. "Apparently the ruler there, Lord Lapin, believes him to be his long-lost heir to the throne."
"Well gee isn't that nice?" Sam shrugged, confused at how to respond to that statement. "Now is he gonna return Max?-"
"O-HO! You'd think so wouldn't ya?!" Nova chortled along with Gordon.
"What's so bad about him?" Sam inquired.
"He once placed a bomb in our planet's orphanage, claiming it to be entirely accidental." Nova replied, then cleared her throat. "--Our orphanage that was right next to a napalm factory, the senior center, and an animal shelter for legless puppies."
Nova then moved in closer to whisper in Sam's ear;
"--there were no survivors."
"Strangely enough that guy DOES sound like he'd be related to Max..." Sam spoke, scratching the top of his head. "Ah, well, let's go save him."
"Soooo pops, what's the first thing we're gonna do today?" Max excitedly walked around Lord Lapin, eager to have some kind of ambiguous father figure.
"Oh M'x my son, I--" Lapin started to speak.
"Who the hell's M'x?" Max spoke, trying to annunciate the vowel-less version of his own name. "Am I even sayin' that right?"
"It is merely our world's pronounciation of "Max"." Lapin spoke. "Now then, you have much to learn…"
"Like what?" Max inquired yet again.
"Oh, nothing…" Lapin spoke, pulling up a small, tablet-like device that displayed a holographic image of the Statue of Liberty. "Just taking something that's rightfully ours…"
Max grinned widely despite the ominous statement Lapin had just said.
