After Nova inserted the ground-up Purcellian crystals into the spacecraft, the dog and lagomorph aliens were ready to head off yet again.

"So what's with ol' Silent Stan over there?" Sam gestured towards Gordon. "Did your mother accidentally drink pool water when she was pregnant with him?"

"Pssh, SA-AM! He's got a medical condition!" Nova angrily exclaimed, moving away from Gordon. "How could you be so insensitive?"

Sam then watched as Gordon stared at a pencil, and slowly pushed it through one of his ears. It slowly came out his other ear, then he placed it back through, causing the pencil to come out of one of his nostrils.

"eugh..." Sam shook his head, then turned to face Nova. "Hey, what's that up ahead?"

"Oh that's just the largest asteroid field I've ever seen..." Nova casually spoke. Then, her pupils widened. "ASTEROIDS?!"

"HOLY TRUCK NUTS BEAT-BOXING IN A BOWLER HAT! Stand back, fellas, I'm takin' the wheel!" Sam exclaimed, doing just that and pushing Gordon out of the way.

Sam was able to maneuver through the huge field of asteroids pretty easily, he even went through a planet-sized one with a hole in the center!

"UH, GO LEFT! RIGHT!! LOOP-DE-LOOP!!" Nova exclaimed, leaning a little on Sam and trying to steer him in the right direction.

"—WILL YOU QUIT IT, WOMAN, IM' TRYIN' TO DRIVE!!" Sam exclaimed, expertly navigating through the multitudes of oncoming asteroids.

"BRACE FOR IMPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACT!!" The normally-silent Gordon exclaimed as an utterly huge asteroid was now headed in their direction.

(*KER-BLAMMO!!*)

Meanwhile, on Lagomorphus-9, Max was busy having the time of his life with his (supposedly) new father! Lapin was giving Max a tour of the massive planet which was covered in nothing but city streets and tall, geometric buildings that shone with thousands of lights and starship traffic.

"Hey so, what was that whole thing about "takin' what's rightfully ours" and stuff?" Max asked, briefly imitating the deep, throaty vocal pattern of Lapin.

"Well my boy, you come from earth, correct?" Lapin asked.

"Yessir, papa!" Max replied. "The home of so many bodacious babes..."

"That's odd, you strike me as a fellow that doesn't like girls." Lapin raised one eyebrow.

"Whatever." Max sighed.

"Anyway, surely there's no doubt you've heard of the Statue of Liberty, correct?" Lapin asked.

"Yep! Looked up her skirt one time!" Max spoke, extremely proud of that "fact".

"In my spare time, I happen to run a shopping channel on Intergalactic Cable..." Lapin spoke, a huge, shark-like grin growing in his face. "She'd fetch a pretty zbarnar on that sorta market..."

"UGH, AGAIN with the OMINOUS FORESHADOWING!" Max exclaimed in frustration. "Just tell me what you're gonna do already so I don't place the trigger to my head!"

"Don't you get it, M'x, we're going to steal the Statue of Liberty!!" Lapin exclaimed, clearly annoyed with his apparent "son". "And then I'll sell it for one-bazillion zbarnars on the shopping channel!"

"Ohhhhh, I get it, I get it...(kind of a stupid plan) but hey! It works...kinda...sorta...maybe...yes." Max replied, sharp teeth in a huge grin. "But where'll the tired, poor, huddled masses go?"

"They're just gonna have to go somewhere else, m'boy..." Lapin grinned, rubbing his slim hands together.

"Okay...I'll do it..." Max replied, having not required much convincing. "But what's in it for me? Women? Guns? Precious metals? Guns?"

"You'll get your prize alright..." Lapin placed an arm around Max. "You will in time..."

"--Where the hell are we?" Sam asked, rubbing the side of his head, far too dazed to speak a lengthy exclaimation of surprise.

The spaceship had crashed onto a planet covered almost head to toe with lava. Thankfully, it just so happened to have landed on a small island of hardened magma, safe enough for Sam, Gordon and Nova to walk across.

"--Hephaestus, Tujunga system..." Nova spoke, reading her scanner. "Can't believe we crashed here of all the damn places."

"Why's that?" Sam asked.

As if the planet could hear Sam, the planet's largest volcano erupted violently, spilling lava everywhere and forming huge cracks in the ground.

"Oh." Sam replied.
