A few days later, Elli found herself sitting in Gwen and Peter's apartment while Peter scoured over papers he'd found at his aunt and uncle's.

"Peter, do you really think investigating this Dr. Connors is a good idea? The last time you looked into someone from Oscorp, you became Spider-Man," she added as she flipped through a magazine, hoping he'd hear the logic in her argument.

Peter leaned back, letting out a long sigh, "He worked directly with my dad, Ells. How can I ignore that?" he retaliated as he stood up from the floor where he'd been pouring over the data.

Elli shook her head, "I just have a bad feeling about it, but if you think you need to then I won't stop you. Not that I even could," she added as she leaned back against the back of the sofa.

"There's no way that every scientist working at Oscorp is crazy, right?" he retorted, showing that he was, at least, slightly influenced by her opinion.

She shrugged, "If Gwen knew about you and this idea, what should she say?" she inquired, hoping to appeal to the hopeless romantic, he truly was. "I think she'd be worried, just like me."

Peter frowned at the mention of his girlfriend, "I see what you're doing, using Gwen to help make me lean into your choice. I can't ignore this lead, Ell," he stated before he continued, "If I ever want to figure out why my parents disappeared then I need to follow leads like this. I hope you can understand," he added with a sheepish smile crossing his lips.

"Of course, I can," she replied as she placed her hand comfortingly on his shoulder, "I just want you to think before you act. Not every lead is worth following," she confessed as she realized that she needed to put herself in his shoes. "What kind of things is this Dr. Connors into, anyway?" she inquired, hoping to earn his forgiveness by feigning interest in the man's work.

Peter's eyes lit up as he pulled out the research before he explained, "Dr. Connors and my dad were working on a project where we could combine human DNA with certain animal's DNA to heal the most excruciating ailments out there," he shared.

Elli was skeptical as she listened to Peter go into detail regarding Dr. Connors' research, but she chose to nod supportively, "His work kind of sounds like what happened to you," she commented, "Don't bring back any superhero-creating spiders, deal?" she requested as she stood from his sofa.

He let out a laugh before he responded, "I'll do my best but I can't make any promises. If you see Gwen before I do, will you tell her that I'll be home soon?" he requested with an innocent smile crossing his lips.

"I'm sure I can think of something," she agreed as she gathered her things to leave, "Be careful," she instructed, her voice conveying that her words were more of an order than anything else.

Peter nodded as he watched her leave his and Gwen's apartment to return to his own while gathering a few supplies before making his way to Oscorp.

Once Elli was home, she spread out her books on her kitchen table so she could study for her upcoming exams. Her study session was interrupted multiple times, first by Gwen Stacy.

"What's up, girlfriend?" Elli inquired as she opened the door for her best friend.

Gwen shook her head before she replied, "I hate to be this girlfriend, but do you have any idea where Peter might be?"

Elli let out a long sigh before she spoke, using that time to come up with a believable excuse, "He had some questions about his Chemistry final so he met up with some of his fellow classmates in the library. He said he'd be home by midnight," she lied as she picked a class of Peter's that Gwen wasn't in. "Do you want to come in until he gets back? I'm just studying," she offered as she gestured for Gwen to walk into her apartment.

Gwen shook her head, "No, I wish I could but we do not study well together. History has proven that time and time again. Thanks for letting me know about Peter," she added, genuinely grateful as she took a step back from Elli's door to walk to her own place.

Elli nodded before she shut her door and moved back to her studies until there was another knock at her door. She expected it to be Peter giving her an update on what he'd found, but she was pleasantly surprised to find George Stacy outside her place, once again.

"You just can't get enough, is that it?" she teased him as she ushered him inside as she'd done a few nights before.

A sly grin crossed his lips before he responded, "Something like that," he noticed her books and notes spread across the table, causing him to continue, "Are you studying? I can come back after exams," he added.

Elli shook her head, "No, I can study later. You can stay. In fact, I'd prefer it if you did," she whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

George's lips curled into a smirk, "Aren't you worried about doing badly on your tests, baby?" he inquired as he felt her arms wrap around his waist while she buried her face in his chest.\

"No, I'm not," she shared as she removed her face from his chest before she moved her hands down to his belt buckle, "Do you still want to leave? I'd understand," she tempted as she ran her hand over his erection in his boxers, causing him to attempt to suppress a gasp.

His lips retained the smirk they'd adopted upon his arrival as he responded, grasping her face in his hands, "No, I don't want to leave, unless you want me to. I just wanted you to know how seriously I take your studies," he shared as he closed his eyes once he felt her lips take him in her mouth.

She released him before placing a kiss on his tip, "I'd rather enjoy you while I can," she shared before resuming the blow job, causing him to gasp, pulling his fist into his mouth while his free hand wrapped into her curls. "That's it, baby," he encouraged her once he was no longer worried about her finishing her studies and he was fully consumed in the pleasure she was providing for him.

Elli pulled her lips from him for a moment, just long enough to lock eye contact with him, "I aim to please," she whispered before she continued while placing her fingers into her own area, pleasuring herself.
