Author's Note : For any of you who are confused as to why you didn't see this race play out in the game - 1. You only get it when you kill Rued early on and don't spare him and 2 This is fictional and made up on my behalf mostly - Eivor and Oswald never raced each other on their own in the actual wedding race .

After the main ceremony and Oswald and Eivor's speech to their friends and the residents of Elmenham and East Anglia who had come to witness their wedding , it was time for some Norse games . On Finnr the Steward's suggestion they were to embark on a Wedding race .

"It is now time for the Bridal Race . Ladies and Gents all buckle up for an exciting race from here to the Longhouse. Bride and Groom only - no one else is allowed to participate" Finnr announced waving his arms around

Eivor and Oswald turned to look at each other . Oswald with a smile , and Eivor with a smirk .

"Hmmm A bridal race" he said with a interested tone

Eivor smirked " I know who will be winning this"

"Who?" Oswald folded his arms to look at her

"Me" she grinned. "I'm faster than you . I have longer legs"

Oswald chuckled laughing as he threw his head back . "Are you sure about that ? I'm quite fast on my feet you know"

"Oh really? Let's find out then" Eivor smirked back at Oswald

The newly wed couple then walked to the white chalk line that Finnr had drawn to start the race . He looked at them getting up to dust his hands off from the chalk and dirt from the gravelly floor .

"Done. Are we ready to start - Bride and Groom of East Anglia?"

"Not yet" Eivor cut in before Oswald could answer . "I would like to make some adjustments"

Finnr looked back at Eivor with a unsure expression . "Ok what Adjustments would you like to make Eivor?"

"I would request that Oswald go over the line a few metres away from me so he can get a good head start if that's alright with you" Eivor shrugged

Oswald looked at Eivor open mouthed at what he just heard . He quickly shook his head at the situation .

"No no no I can't allow that . Please Eivor , I'm fine . You can go in front of me . Ladies first always" he gestured with his arm towards the steps of the courtyard

Eivor scoffed back at him dismissing him instantly "I don't need Chivalry to win, I can do that from behind anyway . Just take the head start Oswald" She barked in a loud voice

Oswald shrugged back "If you say so. I did offer" as he walked towards the stairs where the head start was .

"All right then . Looks like we are all ready to start . On your marks, get set go!" Finnr shouted

Oswald leapt into action sprinting away . A few seconds later , Eivor sprang herself too into a light jog . She watched as Oswald sprinted further and further away from her his shape becoming small . God he was right . He can be fast when necessary .

When she got to the longhouse after a light jog, Oswald was there already waiting for her with a big smile along with the other guests . Everybody was clapping and cheering for her including him .

"You lost" he grinned at her

"I did. I let you win on purpose. I went slower I could of went faster but chose not to" Eivor smiled back at Oswald

Oswald looked back at Eivor . Touched . "Thank you for a beautiful day" . His eyes were brimming with tears .

"And Thank you for a Beautiful Wedding Oswald. It's exactly how I dreamt it would be"

"Oh Come here" Oswald said as he reached out for Eivor , pulling her closer to him

He placed one hand on her waist and the other on her hair as he leaned in closer to her and kissed her .

Eivor did the same back too , and they were now snogging and making out in the view of everyone as some of the nearby guests stared at them . They had resisted this long, having not kissed at the altar until now .

They pulled back as the others turned back to what they were doing as Oswald placed a gentle kiss on his Wife's hands .

"Shall We?" He asked Eivor as he held her hand pulling her and leading her away from the crowded longhouse to his chambers

Eivor nodded as they left the hustle and bustle of the busy longhouse and entered the chambers with Oswald so they could have some more privacy to continue what they were doing .
