Hello my name is PokéRamen and this is my first published digimon fanfiction. I've written a bunch of fanfics over on word, but never really published them. Well till now of course. Anyways I hope you all enjoy this
Some quick notes before you start the story so you're not completely lost when you start reading,
-In this au Rika and Henry are the parents of Jun and Davis.
-The tamers digimon returned and stayed with their tamers, that was until Myotismon attacked and the digimon had to return to the digital world after Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon beat VenomMyotismon and the digidestined returned to the digital world to stop the dark masters.
-Suzie will be the mother of Cody in this fic, making Davis and Jun his cousins.
-The other tamers will appear in this fic later on, mostly as side characters.
-Davis and Jun's personalities might be a bit different from canon, but I will try to stick to the canon as close as possible, for Davis that is, I'm going to be throwing canon Jun out the window and try to do her justice. My goal is to make her more likable then canon Jun.
-There will be no Davis/Kari/TK love triangle, why because it's dumb in my opinion and they are only 13.
-The Wong family (Davis, Jun, Rika and Henry) moved to the US after the Myotismon incident for Henry's job as a computer engineer and software developer, they were in the US during the Diaboromon incident. They move back after the 6 year time skip, so Davis and TK start school on the same day
"Terriermon come on your too slow" A young Davis cried happily as his father's partner chased him slowly. "Momentai Davis. You're getting faster by the day" The digimon said. "No, I'm not, you're just getting slower!" Davis said climbing up a tree. "Davis be careful. Terriermon is not as young as he used to be" Henry said chuckled. "So, says you. You're a father of two and getting grey hairs already Mister!" Terriermon refuted. "Aren't you a practically immortal life form made of data. Who knows you probably age faster than me and just don't know it" Henry said. "Hey! I resent that. Clearly, I am still in my younger years" Terriermon said. Davis laughed at the poor digimon as he sat on a branch. "Alright Davis, play time is over, you have homework to do" Henry said. "Aww, can't we play for a bit longer?" Davis groaned, before he reluctantly climbed back down the tree. "Finally, I thought I'd never get a break" Terriermon groaned falling back onto the ground tiredly closing his eyes. Henry chuckled. "You know older people get tired much faster" Henry joked. Terriermon's eyes shot open as he jumped up to his feet within seconds. "I am not old Henry!" Terriermon said defensively. Henry laughed. "Mom. Do you think I'll get a Digimon partner like you and Dad?" Jun asked her mother as she continued to lip through TV channels. "For the sake of mine, your father and Renamon's sanity. I hope not. But if you do I hope that digimon is the one keeping you in line Jun and not the other way around" Rika said. "Hey! I can take care of myself" Jun said in her defence. "Jun you can't even clean your room and keep it that way for a month" Rika said. "Your mother's right Jun" Renamon said. "Okay so maybe I can't keep my room clean. But I can handle myself when it comes to action. And besides it's not like I don't know how to pull off a few stellar combinations. I am the daughter of Queen of card games, and one of the most brilliant computer engineer of Japan to this day" Jun said. Rika smirked in pride and ruffled Jun's hair. "Though your ego worries me. You do have a point. You're my daughter. By some miracle you'll be okay" Rika said. Jun pouted at her mother. Renamon smiled softly seeing Rika has grown up into a great woman.
Time skips 6 years later, "DAISUKE AND JUN! Wake Up!" An annoyed Rika Wong yelled to wake up her children. "I'M UP! I'm Up Ma! It's Only 8:30 am! School doesn't start for another 2 hours!" the now 13-year-old Daisuke Wong, also known as Davis, stated. "You commute is 30 minutes, and the bus only comes by once every hour. You have an hour and fifteen to get ready for school! And it's your first day! I won't let you be late! You too Jun!" Rika said. It was just Davis, Jun and their parents, after Renamon and Terriermon had to go back to the digital world three years ago. A few minutes later Davis exited his room fully dressed, as Jun was exiting the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her head and a bathrobe. Both clearly are not morning people much like their mother. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Rika asked. Davis looked around and noticed that his bag was missing. "Oh shoot!" Davis cried as he rushed back into his room leaving his door wide open. Jun snorted at her brother's forgetfulness before heading into her room to get changed into her school uniform. He grabbed his bag making sure that all his school supplies were in there before spotting the deck of Digimon trading cards his mother made him for his birthday. He grinned and tried to subtly grab them and place them into his bag without his mom noticing. "That better not be the Digimon deck I got you for your birthday" Rika called as she spotted her son shoving something into his bag. "Aww, come on mom. It's not going to kill me to bring a few trading cards to school" Davis whined. Rika stared at her son for a bit before giving in seeing as there wasn't any harm in bringing a few cards compared to a handheld game system. "Fine now both of you come and eat breakfast before you both leave" Rika said as she placed the food on the table. Both siblings hurried to the table eating as much as they could before grabbing their school bags and heading for the front door. "Remember, no picking fights, no showing off and try to make some friends" Rika said "Now get going or you'll both be late". Davis grinned and ran off to the bus stop has Jun nodded following her brother to make sure he didn't get into trouble. Rika watched as both her children departed with a soft smile on her face.
Jun sighed walking around the foreign high school halls. Jun wasn't paying attention till she bumped into someone, not paying attention. "W-whoa-" Jun cried stumbling backwards a bit but was caught by someone. Jun looked up to see a pair of blue eyes staring at her. "Sorry about that. I was looking where I was going" The guy said helping her back to her feet. "No, no it's my fault. I was distracted" Jun said as she dusted herself off. "I'm Matt" The guy said. "Jun" she said with a small smile. "Are you new? I haven't seen you around before" Matt asked. "Oh! Yeah, we just moved back from the States, so today is my first day" Jun answered. "Moved back?" Matt said a bit confused. "Yep, long story. But hey, could you help me get to my first class?" Jun asked.
"Class please meet your new classmates Daisuke Wong and Takeru Takashi" The teacher introduced. "It's nice to meet you all, call me TK" TK said. "I hope we get along, call me Davis" Davis greeted. "Alright then why don't you both take the seats over in the back by Ms. Kamiya" the teacher said. Kari smiled as she raised her hand to signal where she was. Both boys nodded and went to their new seats. T.K. sat next to Kari and smiled as they greeted each other, while Davis took his seat in the following row next to Kari. 'Huh, they must know each other from summer camp or something' Davis guessed as he noticed how the two talked so familiarly with each other. As the teacher started the lesson, Davis heard them whispering about how their teacher looked like Ogermon. 'Maybe they know about Digimon too, I'll talk to them after class and see if they have any cool cards' Davis thought. As the lesson drooled on Davis got bored and secretly took out his deck of cards from his bag, secretly playing with them as if he were in a duel.
Eventually the bell wrang as Davis started to put away his things. "Hey, are those trading cards?" a voice asked. Davis turned to see both Kari and TK standing next to his desk. "Huh? Oh yeah, it's my own deck that my mom got me for my 13th birthday" Davis answered as he put the cards back into the deck box. "I don't think I've seen those kind of trading cards. What are they?" Kari asked. Davis looked at them a bit confused before concluding that maybe they only played the old game and didn't know about the cards. "They're Digimon trading cards. I'm kind of surprised you both didn't know about them since I figured you guys knew about Ogermon" Davis answered, "Then again granted the franchise is as old as my parents, but it's quite popular". TK and Kari looked shocked as not only the existence of Digimon being well known, but there has been a franchise revolved around them long before the original digidestined landed in the digital world. "If you want, I could teach you both how to play. I'm not sure if anyone plays it around here, and I'm not a bad teacher" Davis offered as he bragged a bit. Both Digidestined shook off their shock as they figured that the best thing to do is act natural. "Sure, but I'm not really that good at card games" TK said. "That's fine, I like a challenge" Davis replied. Aside from their weird reactions to him mentioning Digimon, the two kids seemed quite nice and friendly. "Sorry but is one of you Kari" A violet haired girl suddenly asked. All three kids looked at the entrance where the girl was currently in the way. "That's me" Kari said. "Hey Yolei" T.K. greeted. Yolei approached Kari with a piece of paper handing to her. Kari read the letter carefully before looking serious. "Tai needs our help" Kari said running off. "Kari!" T.K. said chasing after her.
As soon as Kari burst out of the classroom, TK and Davis followed her with Yolei tailing them two of them. Upon reaching the computer lab, they spotted the red haired digidestined of knowledge at the door. "Oh Kari, TK, you both got Tai's message too huh?" Izzy said. "Yeah, we did" Kari said as the group entered the computer lab. "We need to get to the digital world and help him" TK said. At the mention of the digital world, Davis's eyes widened in shock. "The digital world? Is that some kind of theme park?" Yolei asked. "It's a parallel world to ours created during the early days of the internet, where creatures called digimon live" Davis explained. The digidestined in the room stared at Davis in shock. Upon realizing his mistake of knowing what he shouldn't, he decided to play dumb. "Or at least that's what the franchise has put into detail about it" Davis explained. "Oh, Yolei there you are. You said you were going to help with my computer problems remember?" A voice said from behind everyone. "Oh, shoot Cody sorry I forgot" Yolei apologized. "Hey Cody, been a while" Davis greeted. "Hello Davis, today's your first day, right? Are you adjusting well?" Cody asked. "Can't complain" Davis said. "Oh, you guys know each other" TK concluded. Both nod as they explain that they're cousins, with Cody's mom being Davis's dad's little sister. "Anyways, we better get going Yolei, mom said she was making brownies today. Are you coming Davis?" Cody asked. "Nah, as much as I love Aunt Susie's brownies, I promised TK here that I'd teach him the ropes of the digimon card game" Davis replied. Cody nodded and excused himself as he dragged Yolei away. "Now then, let's go to the digital world" Davis said turning to the digidestined after Cody and Yolei had left the room. "Hold on there Davis, you can't enter the digital world without a digivice" Izzy explained. To which Davis was immediately confused as he recalls the story of his parents and their friends entering the digital world to save Callumon, with Kazu and Kenta not having digivices on their Digimon partners.
Suddenly a blue light erupted from one computer and into his bag while a yellow and red lights flew past him. The light faded as Davis scrambled to open his bag, noticing that his card scanner was gone and, in its place, a white digivice with a black outline around its screen and blue grips. It looked like one of those toy walkie-talkies babies would play with. Davis carefully pulled the digivice out of his bag. "Woah…" Davis said staring at his new digivice in amazement. "It looks like a different model from ours" Izzy commented pulling out his digivice to prove his point. Davis studied the old digivice taking note that it seemed like a major downgrade from the D-Arc that his parents and the other tamers had. Upon studying his digivice closer he noticed that it had a card slot. "Yeah, guess so, your digivice doesn't even have a card slot" Davis said holding out his digivice to show off the card slot. Only for the digital gate to beep and unlock. Suddenly the digivice's screen lit up as it then read 'Digital World Gate Key Downloaded. Access Phrase: DigiGate Open'. "Uh what just happened?" TK said. Both Izzy and Davis were just as confused. "Who cares, right now Tai needs our help. DigiGate Open!" Kari said. Kari held her digivice to the screen and in a flash entered the computer. While TK and Izzy stood in shock, Davis grinned and followed Kari's lead holding up his new digivice to the screen and entering the digital world. TK entered the digital world afterwards. Just as Izzy got his digivice out, the door burst open to reveal Yolei and Cody had returned. "Alright what was that light!? And What are these!?" Yolei demanded holding up a digivice like Davis's only with red grips instead of blue ones as Cody held up the same digivice only with yellow grips. "I-I uhh" Izzy said panicking. "Well!" Yolei asked impatiently.
In the digital world the three preteens had just landed. Or rather TK and Davis had crashed onto the ground while Kari had landed on her feet harmlessly. "Man, you'd think they would have a more practical way of entering this place. Like a train system or a device that lets you create a portal and cross between worlds just by walking through it" Davis said getting off the floor. "You and me both" TK groaned. Kari giggled. "You boys need to learn how to be graceful. Now come on. Let's go find my brother" Kari said as the boys nodded. As they walked, TK looked over to Davis wondering how he was taking this all in. To his surprise Davis was fiddling with his digivice. "What are you doing Davis?" TK asked. "Oh, uh well, I figured maybe this thing had a partner digimon tracker on something, so I was just- Ah ha!" Davis explained till the screen of his digivice lit up and the screen looked like a functioning compass. "Well, it's great that you're familiarizing yourself with your digivice. I don't think it's going to help us find my brother" Kari said, while she didn't mean anything rude by saying it, she also really wanted to make sure her brother was still alive and safe. "I mean, it's our only lead to anywhere as we don't know exactly where we are in the digital world" TK said to Davis's defense. "Yeah, and who knows maybe my Digimon is with Tai" Davis added. As much as Kari wanted to argue that going on a wild goose chase would do more harm than good seeing as how they didn't know where they were going, she had to agree that it was better than just wandering around the area completely lost. The three decided to follow the compass on Davis's digivice till. "Kari! TK!" Two voices cried. TK Kari and Davis turned to see two digimon running towards them. "Gatomon" Kari cried. "Patamon" TK cheered. Both digidestined hugged their digimon, Davis watched the reunion smiling softly. "Kari! TK!" A voice called. "Tai!" Kari said looking at the teenager with huge bushy brown hair and a pair of goggles on his head. "Hey boy am I glad to see you two" Tai said. "We didn't know if you guys got Tai's message, but it seems you did" Agumon said. Kari smiled as she held her digimon partner only to notice something about her. "Oh Gatomon, what happened to your tail ring" Kari asked with worry. "Some digimon had me pinned by it so I lost it trying to escape" Gatomon explained. "Not to be rude. But who are you" Patamon asked noticing Davis. "Oh, my name is Davis Wong" Davis introduced "I'm one of you guys". Davis showed his digivice as the Digimon looked at the model. "Hey that looks like the one the digimon emperor uses!" Gatomon pointed out. "Digimon emperor?" The three newcomers repeated in a confused tone. "I'll explain in the cave" Tai said.
Later in the cave that Tai had found, "And ever since he has been enslaving digimon" Gatomon explained. "That digimon emperor. I want to slap a dark ring on him" Kari said. "You're not the only one" TK joined in. Meanwhile Davis was looking at his digivice, it seemed to be pointing to the weird egg-shaped rock in the middle of the cave that had what looked like a sun carved into it. "Hey, what's up with that?" Davis asked pointing to the egg. "That's what I'd like to know. I tried lifting it earlier but no luck" Tai explained. "Hey, it looks like your digi-radar is pointing to it" Kari pointed out. "Maybe your digimon partner is under the egg" TK said. "Couldn't hurt to try" Davis said as he approached the egg and lifted it. Just as Davis completely lifted the egg, a light erupted from the hole where the egg was, as a digimon was formed in front of them. A small blue dinosaur with a small horn on his snout and a yellow v marking on his forehead. "Freedom! Free At Last! Hiya Davis, nice to meet ya, I'm Veemon" the creature cheered holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you partner, I hope we can be the strongest team" Davis said shaking the Digimon's hand. "Hey I heard of Veemon. Their happy go lucky dragon type digimon said to bring good luck. But I thought they were just a myth" Agumon said. "Well looks like he's the last one" Tai said. Suddenly the ground shook. "What the" "Run!" "Come on".
The eight of them escaped with Davis and Veemon barely making it out. From the cave came a Monochromon with a black ring around it and glowing red eyes. "Looks like we have to fight" TK said. "But we can't digivolve" Agumon said. "That's going to be a problem" Kari said. The Monochromon charged at the group, luckily, they all jumped out of the way. "How can we fight this thing if no one can digivolve to fight it on even ground!" Davis complained, much to the other humans understanding. "Davis! You need to use the digiegg! Summon your courage and says Digi-Armor Energize!" Veemon cried. "But how! -" "Kari!" Gatomon cried cutting Davis off. "I'm okay. Just sprained my ankle" Kari said. Suddenly the large, armored dinosaur digimon turned to Kari charging. Time slowed down as Davis froze. He needed to do something, anything to save her. He couldn't just stand there, but what could he do? Then he had a sudden burst of adrenaline, as if his brain was telling him to go for whatever plan first came to his mind. "Alright fine! You want courage, here's some Digi-Armor! Energize!" Davis shouted as the digiegg of courage glowed bright orange along with Veemon. "Veemon! Armor Digivolve To… Flamedramon! The Fire of Courage". Before the Monochromon reached Kari and Gatomon they were pulled out of its path. "Woah" Tai and TK said. To the side of the rampaging Digimon, Flamedramon stood tall as he held both Kari and Gatomon in his arms. "There you go, don't worry about the big bad dino. Davis and I will handle it" Flamedramon said as he gently placed Kari down on the ground with Gatomon before turning to face the Monochromon. "You got that right partner, and I think I know just the way" Davis said holding out his digivice before pulling a few modify cards from his pocket. Upon looking at the cards he grinned. "Uh Davis, now doesn't seem like the best time for card tricks" TK said. "Just trust me. If it's got a card slot, then this must work! Digi-modify! Speed Plug-In!" Davis replied confidently passing the card through his digivice's card slot. "Digi-modify and Armor Digivolution. Just who is this kid" Tai said. Suddenly Flamedramon glowed a faint white as he charged at Monochromon at unreal speeds. He was fast before but now he seemed to be on a whole other level. The poor rampaging digimon couldn't even hit the armored digimon as it kept getting hit by blitz attacks. "Looks like it's slowing down" Patamon said. "Go for the dark ring! It's what is making Monochromon go crazy" Gatomon pointed out. "You heard the digimon, partner. Let's make this last one count!" Davis said. "Understood! Fire Rocket!" Flamedramon cried enveloping himself in flame as he charged at the dark ring around the rampaging digimon, breaking it and freeing from the control of the emperor. The Monochromon suddenly blinked confused before wandering off trying to find its herd. "You did it Davis!" Kari cried. "That was awesome" TK said. "Woah, I've never seen anyone do something like that before" Patamon said. Tai went to help Kari. "Are you okay" Tai asked. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just need to let my ankle heal" Kari said. Tai nodded and helped her up. Flamedramon de-digivolved back into Veemon has the digiegg turned into an orange beam of light and entered Davis's pocket turning into what seemed to be a messenger device. TK moved to help Tai keep Kari stable. "Looks like this just sealed the deal huh partner. No backing down. You ready for adventure" Davis said to his digimon partner. Veemon grinned. "I was stuck under that egg waiting for ya for years to fight baddies. Let's do this" Veemon said. "Hey Davis" Tai called, and Davis turned to him. Tai grinned and held out his hand. "Welcome to the digidestined" Tai said. "Thanks, glad to join you guys" Davis said shaking Tai's hand before noticing that Tai had placed a pair of goggles in his hands. "What are these for?" Davis asked. "Well, you were able to save Kari and free Monochromon in seconds. You're possibly the strongest one of us now with the whole no digivolving problem. So, I am making you the new leader of the Digidestined till this whole digimon emperor thing is behind us. And well as for the goggles, all digidestined leaders must wear goggles after all" Tai said. Kari and TK nodded in agreement. Davis was taken back a bit. . "I won't let you down" Davis answered confidently, placing the goggles on his head. "They look good on you" Kari said. "Really?" Davis asked blushing a bit. "Yeah, you kind of look like a mini-Tai, but I'm sure you'll make then your own" TK answered. Tai grinned at the three, they were the future of the digidestined, and he was confident that they'd be able to defeat this new threat to the digital world.
"Man, these are amazing brownies" Izzy said. "Thank you. My mother made them" Cody said. All of a suddenly a bright light came from the computer and four figures collapsed onto Izzy. Yolei and Cody stood frozen in shock on what just happened. "There has to be a better way to get to the digital world" TK groaned. "Agreed" Tai said. "You. Guys. Are. Crushing. Me" Izzy gasped as he tried to get up. Davis groaned feeling the weight of someone on him. After a few minutes of untangling the pile of limbs the digidestined looked around to notice that none of the Digimon came with them to the human world. "Don't worry, the Digimon Emperor isn't active during the night. We should be safe until tomorrow" Gatomon said. "You know for an evil emperor, he sure is afraid of the dark" Agumon said. "Right, then we'll return to the digital world tomorrow and find Yolei and Cody's Digimon partners along with gathering any intelligence we can on the Digimon emperor and the dark rings" Davis said determined before noticing everyone looking at him. He quickly got flustered as if he said something out of line. "Sounds like a solid plan Davis. I'll call a meeting for the older digidestined to see who can join us or tomorrow's trip" Tai said placing a hand on Davis's shoulder to reassure him. "I'll see if I can get in contact with Gennai, maybe he knows what's causing normal digivolution to be blocked" Izzy added. The digidestined nodded as they all headed home.
"I'm home!" Davis called as he entered his home and sat down to take his shoes off and change into his slippers. "And why are you home so late!? Do you know how worried I was that you got lost!?" Rika exclaimed, standing in the hallway with an angry expression. "I can explain!" Davis said quickly jumping to his feet, causing his digivice and pair of goggles Tai gifted him to fall out of his pocket and clatter to the floor. Both mother and son looked down at the fallen digivice and goggles in silence, before looking up at her son with a mix of pride and worry. "Does your explanation tell me why there was a digivice in your pocket along with those old looking goggles" Rika asked with a serious expression. Davis chuckled nervously as he picked up the goggles and digivice stuffing them back into his pocket. "May I explain over dinner so dad can know too?" Davis asked. Rika sighed and nodded. Over dinner, Davis told them about what happened in full detail. "So, Cody too huh" Henry said. "Most likely he'll be meeting his partner tomorrow if he and Yolei tag along" Davis said. "So, this Kari girl you mentioned. She seems nice" Jun commented. "Yeah, I guess why is that important?" Davis said oblivious to his sister's implications. "Is she cute?" Jun asked with a teasing grin. "Jun" Davis groaned starting to feel embarrassed "Jun don't tease your brother. Wait till he has a crush on her, that's when it's the best moment. More of a reaction" Rika said causally. "Mom!" Davis cried in embarrassment. Henry chuckled "Help me out Dad!" Davis begged his father. " I'm not getting into this with your mother involved already" Henry said, knowing better than argue with Rika. "This is not cool" Davis groaned in embarrassment.

I would just like to say that updates for this story have a strong chance at being slow seeing as how I first started this story in a word doc about 4 years ago, I also have the next chapter fully written but going through an editorial phase as I had to change dialogue or character behaviour to make the story more enjoyable

Also I am going to be holding a poll for Jun's Digimon partner and if she should have one. Personally I feel like it would fit for Jun to have a Digimon partner seeing as how her whole family has one, but if you think not then please try to convince me as to why that is the case

-Any other Digimon that you think would fit her (but no fan made Digimon please, as I want to be able to track the digivolution progress and what attacks they can use)
