Jack walked through the corridors of the school towards an unusual place, he opens the library doors and enters, recently Jack began to have a certain interest in literature, after his Aunt lent him some old Shakespeare books and incredibly he liked it, it was something very involving, and out of curiosity he wanted to know if there was something similar in the school library, he hadn't become a book nerd, but it was good to try new things.
The library was practically empty, which was normal, currently very few people were interested in books, at most there were 4 or 3 people there counting him.
he walks around looking at the shelves full of dusty books, until he finds the section on classic short stories, an entire section dedicated to the classics of literature, he runs his finger through the books until he decides to pick one of the most famous ones.
When putting his hand on the book he is surprised by another being placed on top of his to get the same book, when he looks to the side he sees the purple cat looking at him with a little surprise.
Jack: oh hi Vanexa, I thought you were here
he says with his sympathetic smile, Vanexa just continues to stare at him a little uncomfortable, he doesn't understand at first and realizes it was because of his hand touching hers.
Jack: Oh! Sorry!
he takes his hand away and scratches the back of his head a little embarrassed, Vanexa just takes the book and starts walking to leave, Jack just sighs and goes back to looking for a book, until he takes a quick look at Vanexa who was leaving and then he sees that the bookcase beside her started to sway and was going to fall on top of her, his bad luck was having fun again.
Before he even thinks it Jack runs over and pushes her away, a loud crashing noise is heard, and the last things he sees is Vanexa looking at him in horror and several books falling on top of him.
A LONG TIME LATER…
Jack was slowly waking up, listening to the familiar sound of medical equipment, his blurred vision starts to return to normal and he sees several hospital beds next to each other, ele easily recognizes that he was in the Health room
he understood the situation and simply gets up and rips off the medical devices on his body, he didn't want to cause Keiko any problems and so he decides to get out of there right away, when he walked a little his body weakened a lot, his muscles were very sore, he had already been crushed before but this is the first time he felt something like this.

Vanexa was at band rehearsal, while everyone else was playing and talking, she was sitting in a chair reading a book as usual.
the book she was reading was the same one that Jack was going to pick up, but he let her take it, he was guarding this book with a certain affection, after jack saved her life she had become a little more expressive, which surprised everyone, after all she always had a hard look.
The Book itself wasn't something she would normally read, it was a novel, but even so she decided to give the book a chance and she was even enjoying the story, she was cliché in many ways, yes, but Vanexa managed to get something good out of it, and when she was alone she reflected a bit on romance, something she had been avoiding for a long time.
The Book itself spoke of a princess who had been cursed and because of that all the inhabitants of the kingdom locked her in a far away place, they locked her in an old ruin of an ancient castle that was guarded by various creatures and a dragon, But a hero manages to save her and his goal was to free her from the Curse and during the story they fall in love with each other.
It was a typical fairy tale story they would tell children, but she was taken aback, the story was a Dark Fairy Tale with a lot of things that wouldn't be suitable for children and that's what piqued her curiosity, a story with a children's premise with gore and stuff, a story that could be considered one of the Brothers Grimm.
Without a doubt they were one of the most interesting books she had ever seen and it was thanks to Jack that she had the chance to read them., she thinks a little about Jack and decides to pay him a visit to see if he had woken up, her arm was bandaged because when Jack pushed her she fell to the floor and some splinters of wood cut her.
She gets up and goes towards the Health Room, no one notices that she was gone., she was walking and when she gets there she is surprised and amazed when she sees Jack awake.
Jack: hmm? Oh Hi Vanexa, are you-
Before being able to complete the sentence she simply hugs him very tightly burying her head in his chest while whimpering a little.
Vanexa: S-SORRY!!! IT WAS MY FAULT, I-I SHOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTENTION!!!
She was hugging him tightly making him let out some light groans of pain.
Jack: What?! No need to apologize, it was an accident...
He gently strokes her head making her calm down, she lets go of him and wipes away her tears.

She giggles and walks away leaving Jack embarrassed and blushing.

After that Jack tried to explain himself to Keiko a few times and she wouldn't listen, time passes and a few hours Jack recovers enough to be able to return to class, but as soon as he leaves the Health Room the Bell rings indicating that class is over and he has missed a full day of class in the Health Room.
Jack is a little upset about this but quickly overcomes it, on the way out Jack ends up finding Zill:

Zill: JACK!
He hugs Jack tightly, taking him by surprise and making him let out a slight grunt of pain.
Jack: H-hey!!! C-Calm down man!
Zill: I'm sorry, but seriously dude, was what happened in the library so serious for you to be with Keiko all day??
Jack: I figured everyone already knew, but yeah, it turned out to be pretty serious, I only survived because I was immortal and if I hadn't saved Vanexa she would have died for sure...

She holds his hand and the two leave, meanwhile Jack was walking towards a hill that Vanexa liked to read, Spam had even taken a swing with an old Tire on that tree, as he approached she already saw her from afar reading the same book he let her take.
He walks over and sits beside her, surprising her.
Jack: Hi Vanexa
Vanexa: H-hi Jack… what are you doing here?
Jack: I came to see you, looks like you liked this book
Vanexa: hm? Oh yes, he is very interesting, you have a good taste in choosing books…
Jack: thank you, I saw this book in my aunt's records and I was curious, I'm glad you liked it
He smiles and a slight blush comes to her cheeks, she turns her attention to her book and takes a deep breath.

Jack is taken aback by the sudden question, he stops and thinks for a while.
