He didn't mean to slam the door but he didn't know what to do with all the energy from the thoughts coursing through him. Grogu let out a startled yelp.

"Sorry kid."

Grogu sat at the table poking around at his homework.

"We should probably talk Grogu. There are some changes that'll be happening."

Din sat next to him at the table.

"Right now, you're my family, my whole family. I am content with the way it is." Din Djarin started. "Our family is going to grow and I want you to know that you'll never falter in priority; I didn't seek out a chance to expand our family because I thought that this wasn't enough." He sighed, this was a harder conversation than thought it was going to be, at least he was having a hard time. Grogu's ears twitched.

"You like Bo-Katan, right?" Maybe this was a better lead into the conversation. Grogu chirped in response.

"Right now Bo-Katan needs a family, one that will be there for her and help her in her role. We are going to be that for her." DIn observed Grogu propose the information in what seemed to be a positive way. "The Mandalorian council suggested that she marry to solidify the relations of the Mandalorians. This is going to be a political relationship but we still are going to be good friends. Things might have to change a bit. Are you up for that?" Din Djarin wasn't sure if he was explaining this at all in a way that was fathomable to how the situation was. He didn't even quite believe the words he was saying.

Would he be helpful in ruling alongside her? Would he get to leave for missions still? What if she find him to be an annoyance to deal with? What if when she saw him without his armor, she would be...displeased?

Grogu seemed to notice his dad's anxieties and touched his hand and cooed.

Grogu's big eyes said everything Din Djarin needed to know. He placed his gloved hand on the little one's head bettering his large ears and ruffled his stubby hairs a bit in an endearing way.

"Thanks, kid, this is going to be okay. It'll all work out."

Bo-Katan traced the scars on her hand from her repeated treatments after it had been crushed by Moff Gideon. It still wasn't quite the same after all the training she had done. It was frustrating almost as frustrating as this situation. She collapsed on her bed and huffed.

After notifying the council they said that the ceremony would take place in two weeks, barely enough time to get comfortable with the idea. Comfortable or not she knew that copies of the public announcement were currently being printed for distribution tomorrow. She adjusted to laying on her side and was immediately disgruntled at the sight of all the documents left on her nightstand to review before the next council meeting. Her wounds were healing quickly, she scooped a small amount of the balm Din had left her onto her middle finger and gently applied it. She wanted to be back training herself for another job and training her team to fight alongside her. Perhaps with all the peace to come, there would be no need to fight anymore.

She opened a couple of the documents even though her eyelids felt quite heavy and began making notes in the margins.

There was a knock on the door that awoke Bo-Katan. She didn't even realize that she had fallen asleep.

"Come in!" She said and raked her finger through her hair to try and look a bit more acceptable.

"What the hell is this?" Koska asked as she burst through the door holding the newsletter of the day. Bo-Katan hadn't even seen it yet. She took it from Koska's hands and scanned over it quickly. It had a mudhorn sigil and a mythosaur sigil embossed in the middle. Bo-Katan groaned.

"I guess everyone knows now."

"When was this decided?" Pushed Koska with concern.

"Officially...yesterday. The council feels that a union between clans will hush out any ongoing disputes and lead to a peaceful future for Mandalore." She felt her eyes roll back and she flopped back onto her back.

"If you're asking how I'm feeling the answer is unsure."

"In that case, is there anything I can do?" Offered Koska.

Bo-Katan grinned softly and said, "Your thoughts and support are enough. I honestly don't know what else I need right now. Thank you, Koska."

"Have you seen under his helmet? Is he handsome?" Koska asked eagerly.

Bo-Katan laughed.

"No, I haven't seen his face. But it's fine this is a political marriage we don't have to be attracted to each other." Even though she said it, a creeping insecurity came in, 'What if Din didn't find her attractive?'

"Will you have to produce an heir soon? Would that mean that you could no longer join us in battle?" Koska pressed on.

Bo-Katan's mouth dropped and she paused. 'We would probably have to produce an heir at some point, I have no family to take the throne. Unless the next ruler is chosen by election but I'm not sure this nation is solidified enough to propose such an idea. Oh shit, we would probably have to be naked to conceive an heir. Din will probably feel more than naked without a helmet on and to think of the rest he might die of discomfort. I've asked too much of him and he most likely hasn't thought through how much he has agreed to.' The stream of conciousness raced through her mind in rapid succession to the point that she couldn't form an answer.

"Maybe this is too much right now, the proposal has only just been made. I shouldn't bother you with such questions. I'll leave you, I'm sure you're busy. I just wanted to check in on you, I haven't seen you much these days." Koska said.

"It's alright, all things to think about. I do appreciate you checking on me." She smiled and Koska left her room. Then the dread came back. If she had a child she might forever be locked in council meetings and never get to join her team on missions again. The thought saddened her. Perhaps Mandalore could get to a point politically if she worked hard enough that they could elect a future leader, but that was hopeful thinking, to break a tradition so soon.
