It's me again, back with another chapter that took almost 2 weeks to finish, truth be told this chapter took longer then I would have liked it to however most of it was written from scratch as I had previously written down only like 15% of it. Unlike chapters 1 & 2. The poll is still going on for Jun's Digimon partner with Wizardmon in the lead by 2 votes. I worked real hard on this chapter and I hope you wall enjoy
As the bell rang throughout the school, signalling the end of the day, the little Digimon remained in their hiding spots waiting. Salamon remained perched on top of a cabinet, keeping an eye on the door as Tokomon, DemiVeemon, Poromon and Umpamon hid under a desk. The sound of the door opening rang through the room has DemiVeemon poked his head out a bit. "Davish?" DemiVeemon called. Davis entered the room with Kari and TK. "You guys still in here?" He called to the Digimon. "It's Davish!" DemiVeemon exclaimed happily as he bounced over to his human partner who caught the little Digimon in his arms. The rest of the Digimon then came out of their hiding spots. "It's good to see you guys are still here" TK said as he picked up Tokomon. "Is Yolei coming?" Poromon asked. "Where's Cody" Umpamon asked bouncing excitedly. "They'll be here soon" Kari answered. "I think I hear them now" Davis commented as he heard footsteps coming closer. "Sorry I'm late, I brought some stuff for the Digimon!" Yolei cried as she turned the corner rushing over to the computer lab with a grocery bag full of snacks in hand. "I forgot that your family runs a convenience store" TK said. "I always wondered if that means that I would get a bunch of free snacks" Davis pondered. Yolei set down the bag carefully in front of the Digimon as they stared at the food. "No, not really. I often times have to help out around the store. So, while I do work to gain my allowance, anything I want from the store gets taken out from there. Luckily, I have years' worth saved up so feeding the Digimon won't be too much of a problem" Yolei answered. The three newer Digimon stared at the bag's contents quizzically. "What is it?" DemiVeemon asked. "Can we eat it?" Poromon asked. "It's packaged food, of course you can eat it" Salamon answered. "How? How?" Umpamon asked excitedly. "You just do this" Tokomon said taking one of the pouches and sucking all the juice out of it slowly. The other Digimon watched in awe. "I wanna try next!" Umpamon said as he dug into the bag, grabbing another juice pouch out and sucking on it like Tokomon did. "It's delicious" Umpamon cried happily as he bounced around. DemiVeemon was happily eating a chocolate bar as Poromon looked for what he wanted to try first. After taking a small sip of one of the remaining juice pouches, Poromon flew around the room excitedly from the sweetness of the juice before crashing into DemiVeemon and Umpamon, all three giggling and dancing with joy. "If this is the future of the digital world, then I don't like our odds" Salamon deadpanned. "By the way, has anyone checked to see if the gate is open yet?" Yolei asked. "No, we were going to wait for everyone to get here before we did" Kari replied. "I'll go check then" Yolei said as she turned on the computer and opened up the digital gate program. "It's open and ready" Yolei said giving a thumbs up. "Great, so we'll wait for Cody to show up and then go" Davis said. The rest nodded. "Come to think of it, I passed his class when I came back with the food for the Digimon. I think he's on cleaning duty today" Yolei said. "Well, that's going to take a while" TK said. "Why don't we watch the news, maybe something interesting is on" Kari suggested. "On it!" Yolei said as she typed away on the computer quickly getting the local news network to play on the monitor. "A computer programming contest was held just a few days ago, the winner? None other than boy genius and all around prodigy, Ken Ichijouji" The reporter lady said. "Boy genius?" TK said with clear confusion. "We now bring you the interview with the young prodigy" The reporter announced as the camera cut to a scene of Ken sitting in front of a computer with a microphone pointed to him. "I'd never thought a kid like me could win. I guess I was just as amazed" Ken said. "I don't like him" Yolei said. "That makes two of us, the way he said that sounded so condescending" Davis agreed. "We also got an interview with one of the judges, Dr. Janyu Wong of Jyonan University's computer science and programming courses" The reporter announced. "Huh, I didn't know Wong was such a common last name" TK said. "It's not" Cody said, causing the other Digidestined except for Davis to jump. "When did you get here?" Yolei asked. "When you and Davis were calling Ken Ichijouji a condescending jerk" Cody answered as he held Umpamon in the air happily. Umpamon happily giggling as Cody did so. "Hey look Cody, grandpa's on TV" Davis pointed out. All the Digidestined turned to see an elderly man who bore a bit of resemblance to Cody and Davis with a microphone held to him. "I was honestly impressed. To see such a complex code written by someone practically around the same age as one of my grandchildren. He has quite the talented mind" Dr. Wong praised. "So, he's around our age too huh?" Davis said. "Ken has also beaten multiple proficient chess players all at the same time. Along with that he is also quite active in areas outside of Academics, but in sports too. Such as Judo and Soccer" The reporter said. The scene cuts to a clip of Ken flipping a judo master over his shoulder onto the mat and then a clip of him playing soccer as he scores a goal. "That was a nice goal" Kari commented. "Really?" TK asked. Kari nodded, having a soccer freak for a brother did come in handy when it came to the subject, albeit rarely. "I've seen enough games to know that it takes hard work to make a shot like that" Kari replied. There was also an interview with Ken's parents who claimed that they did nothing special when it came to raising him. "It's hard to believe that people like him exist" Cody said. "Even so. It's kind of amazing... A boy genius around our age" TK commented. Yolei angerly closed the tab that the news broadcast was on. "So, what!? It's just a bunch of code. I can code programs too" Yolei said bitterly. "Yeah, but he's good at other stuff too, as much as it kills me to admit. Ken's got it all- Wait A Minute!" Davis lamented before something on the computer caught his eye. "What!? Is the gate closed!?" Kari panicked. "No! There's a Digimon TCG Tournament being held here in a few months' time!" Davis exclaimed excitedly. "Really? This is the first I'm hearing about it" Cody said. The other Digidestined looked at the two in comic disbelief. "You kind of gave us a heart attack there" TK said. "I think it's time we head to the digital world now that Cody is here" Kari said trying to change the subject. "Yep, come on Davis, we can look at the tournament stuff when we get back from the digital world" Cody said. "Right. Let's go then. Digi-Port Open!" Davis said
"Looks like we're in a different part of the digital world" Kari noted looking around as this didn't seem to be where they left from yesterday. "Yeah, last I remember we were in a grassy plain when we left" Patamon commented. "Oh hey, you're back to normal Patamon" TK noted. The other Digidestined looked at their partner Digimon to note that their back to their Rookie/Champions forms. Suddenly the D-3's started to beep as the partner locator was turned on, only instead of pointing to their partners it was pointing in another direction. "Our Digivices our going off" Davis noted. Kari and TK both looked at their Digivices, noting that they are completely silent as the D-3's beeped loudly. "That's weird, it's showing two dots on the partner locator, but their far away from us?" Yolei noted. "But we're right here" Veemon said. "What if this feature doesn't locate Digimon partners, but Digi-Eggs!" Cody realized. "That would make sense, all three of your Digimon partners were hidden under your Digi-Eggs, maybe we confused it for the Digivice tracking down your partners" Gatomon theorized. "Yeah, that's right. But then that means that there are two Digi-Eggs out there with no one to claim them" Kari said. "Maybe it's not a one egg per person system" TK suggested. "But even then, there are eight crests and three of them. That leaves either two crests out or one of them on gets two Digi-Eggs" Patamon points out. "Well how about we go and find the eggs before we figure out what to do with them" Yolei suggested. "Good plan, and let's hurry before something happens to those Digi-Eggs" Davis said.
As the group approached the location of the Digi-Eggs, the Digimon Emperor's D-3 started to beep loudly, distracting him from the caged fight between the two controlled Gostumon. "It's those fake Digidestined pests. What a pain" Kaiser scowled looking at his Digivice. He looked over to the two fighters as they both collapsed to the ground completely exhausted. "Then again. I could go for something more entertaining" Kaiser said as a dark smirk came onto his face, pulling out from his pocket a blue card with a black outline around it. Wormmon whimpered not liking what was going to come next.
"They should be up ahead" Davis called looking up from his Digivice. "I wonder which crests could be on the Digi-Eggs" Kari wondered. "Hey, just out of curiosity. What are the crests?" Yolei asked. "I was wondering that too. We know that they have some importance to you original digidestined and that the three we currently have correspond to Tai, Sora and Izzy. But we don't know much outside of that" Cody added. "Huh, yeah come to think of it. I don't think we ever told you guys on the importance of the crests" TK said thinking back on it. "How interesting, I think I would like to know the story too" A sinister voice said. The digidestined turned in surprise to see the Digimon Emperor standing before them. "Couldn't you find a puppy to kick so you came to antagonize us?" Davis sarcastically stated. "Hmph, still have an attitude problem. It's a wonder how you ever got your hands on that Digivice" Kaiser remarked. "At least he doesn't need to slap a mind control collar onto people to be their friends. Besides you look like a bootleg Sentai villain dressed like that" Yolei jumped in, while she hasn't known Davis for very long, she wasn't going to stand there while her friend was insulted by this jerk. "Ha! Nice one" Davis laughed offering Yolei a high-five that she gladly accepted. The other digidestined tried not to laugh as they found that Yolei's words were quite accurate in describing the Digimon Emperor's appearance. "Silence you insects!" Kaiser screeched at the digidestined as they continued to snort and giggle at him, their Digimon even joined in after Patamon, Umpamon and Veemon explained what Yolei meant to Gatomon and Hawkmon. "Or what? You'll make yourself giant and have us summon a megazord to kick your butt?" TK replied. The Digimon Emperor glared harder at the giggling digidestined. "Alright, alright. We'll stop bullying you so you can antagonize us with that hologram of yours" Yolei said. "How did you know?" Kari asked. "I can almost see through him" Yolei pointed out, causing the others to notice that she had a point. "The question is, where is the real Digimon Emperor" Cody asked. "If he's not here then there is nothing stopping us from heading to those Digi-Eggs" Davis said as he walked through the hologram with Veemon. Suddenly the ground shook lightly as Davis looked down partially expecting it to crumble like yesterday underneath him. "Correction. You will all leave the digital world and never return!" A voice said as a Tyrannomon with a dark ring around it's neck appear from the trees behind the digidestined. Kaiser was standing on the Digimon's shoulder. "We're being ambushed" TK said. "Oh Great. Just what we needed, the real deal to show his face. You ready Veemon?" Davis asked. "Let do this Davis!" Veemon replied. "Digi-Armor Energize!" Davis exclaimed. "Veemon! Armor Digivolve to... Flamedramon!" Flamedramon cried. The Tyrannomon roared as Flamedramon charged the menacing dino. "Fire Rock-" Flamedramon cried only to be interrupted as he was knocked away by Tyrannomon's claw. As he was sent flying, Flamedramon flipped over landing onto the truck on a crooked tree. "That was nothing! Fire Knuckle!" Flamedramon cried as he leaped off from the tree sending a blast of fire from his claws. As the fireball flew to the controlled Digimon, it was extinguished by a smack of the Tyrannomon's tail. "That's no good" Davis commented noting how easily the attack was deflected. "Looks like they might need some backup. Ready to kick butt Hawkmon?" Yolei asked. "Of course, Yolei" Hawkmon replied. "Digi-Armor Energize!" Yolei exclaimed. "Hawkmon! Armor Digivolve to... Halsemon!" Halsemon cried. Halsemon then took off, flying towards the Tyrannomon as it fired off a Red Sun attack, causing the controlled Digimon to fall over. "Well then, if we're going to play dirty, then let's even up the playing field!" Ken said cracking his whip against the ground as four more Tyrannomon appeared from the trees. "He's got us surrounded!" Yolei said. "I noticed!" Davis replied.
Cody looked over to Armadillomon as if silently asking him if he was ready to fight as his Digimon partner nodded. "Ready when you are Cody" Armadillomon said. "Right. Digi-Armor Energize!" Cody said. "Armadillomon! Digivolve to... Digmon!" Digmon cried. "Aim for their rings. If we free them, that could end this faster" Cody told his partner. "Understood! Gold Rush!" Digmon cried, launching its drills aimed for the dark rings around the Tyrannomons. "Cody! Take Kari and TK to find the Digi-Eggs! We need all the help we can get." Davis said. "Roger That!" TK responded. Kari nodded. "Come on!" Cody said to the other two as he ran in the direction of the Digi-Eggs. "Are you sure they'll be fine on their own?" Kari asked as she and Gatomon followed Cody. "We don't have much of a choice but to go with the plan" TK said, with Patamon flying being him "And besides I have hope that Davis and Yolei will be alright". "You sure sending them off was a good idea? Now we are down three digidestined and we don't know who those Digi-Eggs belong to" Yolei asked Davis as they had their Digimon make sure none of the Tyrannomon followed the others. "We'll be fine. We just need to keep fighting till they come back with the Digi-Eggs" Davis replied confidently.
As the three digidestined and two Digimon ran, they came across a cave, "In there. That's where the Digi-Eggs should be!" Cody said as they all ran inside of the cave. Soon enough they found two Digi-Eggs sitting there. "Hey those are our crests" Kari noticed. "You're right, but there aren't any newer digidestined here to lift them" TK said. "But if they're you're crests, shouldn't you try to lift them?" Cody asked. "When Tai tried to lift the Digi-Egg of courage it didn't budge. What if the same thing happens to us" Kari said. "Yeah, besides we already have our Digimon partners" TK added. "Our friends are fighting so we could find these Digi-Eggs. You have to try TK" Patamon said. "Kari don't doubt yourself. We can't know for sure if you don't try to lift it" Gatomon said. "Their right. Davis and Yolei, along with our Digimon are fighting hard right now and could need our help. Those Digi-Eggs are our only hope" Cody said. "He's right. We have to try. If not what was the point of coming here" TK said. "Right, here goes nothing" Kari said. They both grabbed the Digi=Eggs and lifted them out from the pedestals. Suddenly two beams of light shot out and struck the pairs Digivices turning them from the classic model into the D=3 model with card slots on the right side, exactly like the other. Only the grips on Kari's were pink while the grips on TK's were green. "Our digivices changed to the same kind as Davis and the others" Kari said looking at her new Digivice. "And we were able to lift the Digi-Eggs. Looks like the digital world still needs us around" TK concluded. Cody smiled at the two, glad to see that his friends weren't feeling useless like before. "TK! Armor digivolve me! We got an Emperor to beat" Patamon said. "Right!" TK said holding out the Digi-Egg of Hope. "It's now or never Kari, are you ready?" Gatomon asked. "Born ready" Kari replied confidently as she held out the Digi-Egg of Light. "Digi-Armor Energize!" TK and Kari cried.
"Gold Rush!" Digmon cried firing the attack and causing the Tyrannomon to roar in anger. "Digi-Modify! Snimon's Twin Sickles" Yolei exclaimed as she slashed her cards through the Digivice. "Twin Sickles!" Halsemon cried as it fired the twin sickles from the horns on his helmet, as the attack collided with two of the Tyrannomon, knocking them down but not destroying the rings. "Fire Knuckle!" Flamedramon cried as he launched another attack. The Tyrannomon roared firing a blast of fire knocking all three Armor Digimon back, causing Digmon and Halsemon to De-Digivolve back into Hawkmon and Armadillomon. "Nowhere to run. Accept defeat" Kaiser taunted. Davis growled as he pulled out a card. "Desperate times call for desperate measures" Davis said to himself. As he was about to swipe the card, he noticed something coming towards them.
"Let us have a shot at him" A voice said. "Rosetta Stone!" "Star Shower!" The attacks overwhelmed the Tyrannomon and causing two of the dark rings to break, knocking the Digimon unconscious. "It's Cody, TK and Kari" Yolei said. "And it looks like they came with reinforcements" Davis noted the two new Armor Digimon "I applaud you. But that won't work anymore. Stingmon! Get the flying pests" Kaiser commanded as a Stingmon came up flying at blinding speeds and attacked both Pegasusmon and Nefertimon, knocking the Digimon back a bit as the kids riding them held on tightly. "Oh no we got to help them!" Yolei said. "How, as you can see, we are out of energy to digivolve again" Hawkmon said. "Leave it to us. Flamedramon still has enough energy to remain digivolved, so we'll handle the flying roach" Davis said looking at his Digimon partner. "Ready for whatever you have planned Davis" Flamedramon responded with full confidence in his human partner. "Digi-Modify! Refresh Plug-In and Aero Wings!" Davis said. Suddenly Flamedramon glowed a faint white as all the damage from the previous fight with the Tyrannomon disappeared as a pair of wings resembling those of AreoVeedramon's materialized on his back "Try some of this Fly Boy! Flame Fist!" Flamedramon cried launching himself into the air, towards Stingmon. "Spiking Strike!" Stingmon cried to counter the Flame Fist. As Stingmon went to block the Flame Fist, Flamedramon tried to fake it out and launch a Fire Knuckle, only for Stingmon dodged it barely as the attack grazed the insectoid Digimon. "Fast huh?" Davis said. Nefertimon and Pegasusmon landed safely, letting the digidestined off their backs to regroup with Davis and Yolei. "It doesn't matter how many cards or Armor Digimon you have, they are all just temporary" Kaiser stated. "Davis and Flamedramon are handling the Stingmon, so let's take care of the remaining Tyrannomon" Pegasusmon said. "Understood" Nerfertimon replied. Both Digimon took flight towards the Tyrannomon who fired an attack at the ground they stood on. "Golden Noose" They both cried as they tied up the controlled Tyrannomon with a golden energy rope. "Rosetta Stone!" Nefertimon cried. "Equus Beam!" Pegasusmon cried. Both attacks landed and destroyed the rest of the dark rings. The Digimon Emperor, seeing as he no longer has any Digimon to control, growls before snapping his fingers. "Stingmon. Grab me and let's get out of here" Kaiser said. The insect digimon flew to Kaiser and picked him up. "Till we meet again Digidestined" The Kaiser exclaimed upset. "Nice one guys" Davis grinned up at the others. "Looks like you owe me again" Cody said. "Put it on my tab" Davis said sarcastically, knowing that he owes a lot of favors to his cousin. "Now that we found the Digi-eggs what should we do?" Yolei asked. "Good question" TK said, and Kari nodded. "While the Kaiser had held me hostage. He mentioned being in the process a type of control tower. It is supposed to ensure that those under the dark ring's control don't have a chance at breaking free and prevents normal Digivolution while in its area of effect" Davis said. "So, what you are saying is that we come back tomorrow and keep an eye out for these control towers?" Yolei asked. "We don't know what the emperor is planning outside of controlling the entire Digital World. We need all the information we can get on him and his schemes" Davis declared. "No complaints here. You are the leader" TK said. "I'm in" Kari said. "Sounds like fun" Yolei said. Cody nodded in agreement. "Good, so let's head home and rest up. We got a long day of scouting tomorrow" Davis said.
After agreeing on what they planned to do tomorrow, the digidestined stayed with the Tyrannomon to make sure none were seriously injured and would be able to go off safely. As the group watched the dinosaur Digimon wander into the horizon, Kari smiled as she took a quick photo of the pack. Back in the real world, the Digidestined hung around in the computer lab for a bit as to let their Digimon recharge with food from such an intense fight. "I find it pretty impressive that DemiVeemon was able to stay as Flamedramon for so long even before you used the energy replenish card" Yolei pointed out. "Well, Digimon do get stronger in and after battle. DemiVeemon has been in more battle as Flamedramon then Hawkmon or Armadillomon as Halsemon and Digmon. So, it makes sense why he remained digivolved for so long" Kari pointed out. "So, what you're saying is that the more they fight, the stronger they get" Yolei repeated. "Seems like it" Cody confirmed. "I'm still surprised that DemiVeemon was able to handle a card combo like that. If I had used it in the wrong sequence, it would have trained his energy before replenishing it" Davis commented. "I'll say. I would have been done for if I had to fight that Stingmon as Veemon" DemiVeemon stated. "No kidding. Where did the Digimon Emperor even get a Stingmon? They're not exactly a common or easy Digimon to find and capture" Tokomon exclaimed. "I don't know and don't want to find out" Salamon replied. "It's getting late and if I stay out too late mom's going to worry that I got into serious trouble in the digital world" Davis said picking up DemiVeemon. "You told you parents about Digimon!?" TK exclaimed. "Yeah...? They've known about Digimon since they were my age. So, I figured telling them about DemiVeemon and the digital world would give me a reason to stay after school for so long instead of just lying" Davis explained, confused as to why TK was so shocked. "I told my mom too since she knew about them as well. She helped me break the news to my grandpa. I don't think he fully gets it yet because he refers to Umpamon as my guardian spirit" Cody added. "I guess that makes sense. I Wish I could tell my family, but knowing my siblings it would spread like a fire in a field of dry grass and this is supposed to be a secret" Yolei complained. "I'm sorry to hear that Yolei" Kari said to her friend placing a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner. "If you want, I can bring Poromon with me when I go home so you don't have to hide him every time" Cody offered. Yolei smiled sadly at Cody before picking up her Digimon partner. "I'd rather have a talk with Poromon about it first before we decide if that's okay" Yolei said. Cody nodded as he picked up Umpamon to take him home.
You might have noticed that there was a part of this chapter where Yolei and Davis were just bullying the hell out of Ken's Digimon Emperor costume, along with them getting along really well, better than in canon. No I don't ship them, but I like their friendship. Of course this doesn't mean that Yolei will always be nice to Davis and Davis always nice to Yolei. They will definitely bicker as they get to know each other more. Also Cody is a quiet kid, Davis grew up with Cody always just appearing from nowhere whenever there is a family gathering, as to the reason why he wasn't spooked like the others. Also, Yolei will grow to have a crush on Ken, however she is going to be ashamed of it as this is also the same Ken she is very much jealous of. IF there are any questions about the characters that don't involve spoilers for the fic I will be glad to answer them. Don't expect chapter 4 to come out too soon unless I for some reason sit down and just blitz write a bunch of chapters
