In recent events, Sonic and his friends have recruited allies from around the world and from different dimensions to help fight against an evil force known as the Subspace Army. The army consisted of enemies including Dr. Robotnik, Bowser, the former Pontifex from the Underworld, Administrator, and even Phantom Task and SAO's infamous murder guild, Laughing Coffin. Their leader, Tabuu, was ultimately defeated by Super Sonic on Little Planet. Ever since the fight against the Subspace Army, Laughing Coffin and Phantom Task have joined together as one to form what is now known as Phantom Coffin, let by Squall Meusal, Gabrial Miller, and PoH. Their new goals are to kill Sonic the Hedgehog, Kazuto Kirigaya, and Ichika Orimura.
About three weeks have passed since the Subspace Army's defeat. And Ichika gets called to a meeting in the IS Academy. As he approaches the door to the meeting room, he sighs.
Ichika: Okay... Here goes nothing.
He opens the door and is greeted by his two instructors, being his sister, Chifuyu, Maya Yamada, and all his ladyfriends, Houki Shinonono, Charlotte Dunois, Cecilia Alcott, Lingyin Huang, also known as Rin and her cousin Luanyin, Laura Bodewig, the Sarashiki sisters, Vishnu Isa Galaxy, the Nohotoke siblings, Rorenstine Laurent di Fillney, better yet known as Rolan, the Comet twins, Velvet Hell, Currier Luccukchefka, Airis Twilight Ruxezemburg, and Griffin Redram.
Houki: Hey Ichika!
Tatenashi: How is our superstar doing!
Ichika: Oh. Hey everybody.
Suddenly, the German IS pilot walks up to him, concerned about his health.
Laura: Are you feeling alright? You look a little tired.
Charlotte: Have you gotten enough sleep?
Ichika: Yeah. Believe me, I got out of my room first thing in the morning at around 6 because I couldn't take the heat anymore. Not to mention the AC stopped working for some reason so it's like an oven in there. But yeah, I'm fine.
Rin: Can't say I blame you.
Chifuyu: I'll have to get maintenance to fix the AC in your room.
Ichika: By the way. I haven't seen some of you for the past month. How've you all been?
Vishnu: We've been doing great! It's been busy for me, but it's been great! It's nice to see you all again.
Griffin: I heard about the deal with the Subspace Army. You guys must've really given it your all.
Currier: Glad you're okay.
Velvet: Well, you certainly have your work cut out for-
Suddenly, Luanyin and the Comet Twins rush over to Ichika with glares, suddenly stunning the male IS pilot.
Luanyin: ICHIKA! TELL US!
Fanile: TELL US RIGHT NOW!
O'Niel: IS IT TRUE!
Their sudden outbursts make him feel scared as if he is in trouble.
Ichika: Uh... Is what true?
As she girls get closer to him, he hopes it's not because of what he thinks it is. Not to mention all the other girls have confessed their love to him a few weeks ago and he turned them all down because he's not sure what to do since there are so many of them that love him.
Luanyin: DO YOU GUYS KNOW SONIC?!
Ichika: H-Huh?
O'Niel: DO YOU KNOW SONIC THE HEDGEHOG?! BE HONEST!
Fanile: ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH HIM?!
And of course, Luanyin is indeed a huge fan of Sonic, and so are the Comet twins. So it's only natural that they would interrogate Ichika and the others.
Rin: Uh... Haha... Easy there Luan.
Ichika: Uh... Yeah. It's true. Geez. I was worried, I thought I was in serious trouble for a second.
Cecilia: It's all true. We are friends with Sonic. We have worked together on a few occasions. Especially with the Subspace Army.
Luanyin: Wow! I can't believe it! Can we meet him?! Please?!
Faniel: I gotta know! What's he like?!
O'Niel: Is he cool up close?!
Chifuyu: We have things to discuss! Settle down!
After hearing this, everybody gets into their seats. Ichika gets in his after everybody else does, and then notices a certain man at the far-end of the table calls out to him.
?: You really are a popular guy aren't you Orimura? Kind of like someone I know. Quite the lady's-man I gotta say. Going out with anybody?
Ichika: W-What?! It's not like that! Honest! Well, not yet at least. Wait. Have we met before?
The man speaking to him is none other than the Lieutenant Colonel of the JSDF.
Kikuoka: Ah yes. This is our first time meeting, so I should properly introduce myself to you all. I am Seijirou Kikuoka of both the JSDF and Ministry of Internal Affairs. Honestly, I'd never thought I'd be working with IS pilots in this investigation, aside from a few SAO survivors.
Ichika: What do you mean?
Suddenly, two people enter the room, who Ichika knows very well, being a certain black-haired boy, and a brunette dressed in white.
Ichika: I never thought I'd see you two here.
Kazuto: Yeah. We were called over here by Kikuoka. Though I'd be careful around him if I were you. Especially with the way he does things.
Ichika: Why's that?
Asuna: You'll probably understand, eventually.
Vishnu: Umm, Ichika. Who are they? They're not new students here?
Ichika: Oh. No they're not. They helped us with the Subspace Army.
Kazuto: My name is Kazuto Kirigaya. I'm an SAO survivor.
Asuna: I'm Asuna Yuuki. It's a pleasure to meet you. And it's nice to see some of you again.
Utsuho: This is our first time meeting, right?
Honne: So you're both SAO survivors? You guys know Sonic too, right?
Kazuto: We do. But shouldn't he be here right now?
Kikuoka: I've tried getting in contact with him, but he hasn't answered any of my messages.
Kazuto: And I think I can guess why.
The two SAO survivors take their seats, as Kikuoka begins to discuss things.
Kikuoka: Now then. I called you all here in response to the underground organization, Phantom Task, joining together with Laughing Coffin, which many of you may know as Sword Art Online's most infamous murder guild. Now they have merged together to become Phantom Coffin. We request that you all cooperate with us in the situation.
Kazuto: And why did you ask me and Asuna to come here?
Kikuoka: Well, you two have close ties to Laughing Coffin. Plus, you're able to take the form of your avatars from the virtual world here IRL, and even use their skills like you were during the whole ordeal with the Subspace Army.
Ichika: But they're civilians! They shouldn't even be involved in something like this!
Kazuto: Ichika. It's fine. We've dealt with things like this in the past. Plus, we're able to fight in the real world now.
Ichika: But you and your family might be in danger if you do this! Maybe even your friends!
Kazuto: They've already been in danger with the Subspace Army. And it's likely that we're targets, considering our relationship with Laughing Coffin.
Houki: You might have a point, but still. Won't they be worried if you go about this? Especially Yui-Chan?
As Houki states her query, the Black Swordsman stands up, preparing to say something to everyone, and determined to do whatever he can for his folks.
Kazuto: I am agreeing to do this, but I'm not involving any of my friends or family into this. And I'm gonna make sure nothing happens to anyone. That mistake happened once, but I won't let it happen again.
Asuna: Kirito-Kun.
Kazuto: Huh?
Asuna: Just make sure you don't do things on your own. It really worries me when you try something like that.
Kazuto: I won't. I promise.
The young male IS pilot just sighs. Since they're all determined to fight back, even they have the same goal, which is to protect their loved ones from people as evil as Phantom Coffin.
Ichika: Well, I'll trust you guys. I've seen how well you two fight.
Maya: And as your instructor, I will make sure all my students are safe.
Charlotte: So what about Sonic? He's a part of this too, is he?
Kikuoka: Well, he probably won't answer to me. But you guys are close with him, so he should answer you since he's your friend.
Kazuto: I'll see if I can contact him. He might listen to me.
Suddenly, Luanyin gasps as her excitement level rises the moment that she heard Kazuto mention that he'll contact Sonic. As she does, her older cousin tries to calm her down so she doesn't get overexcited.
Luanyin: We're going to meet Sonic?! AWESOME! I can't believe it! I finally get to meet him!
Rin: Easy there, Luan. I know you're excited to meet him, but just take it easy.
Luanyin: But he's so cool! He's the fastest guy in the whole world!
O'Niel: Sonic the Hedgehog...
Fanile: Live in-person.
Griffin: Hahaha! They sure are excited to meet him, aren't they? I gotta admit. I'm a little excited too.
Kanzashi: He might have an attitude sometimes, and can be a real jokester, but he's a nice person.
Ichika: Trust me. He's the coolest guy you'll ever see.
Meanwhile, in an abandoned building somewhere in Tokyo, the members of the new Phantom Coffin all get together to discuss what to do with their three targets.
Johnny Black: Now I gotta say. It's nice hanging around with some ladies. But I bet it'd be more nice if we weren't on the job.
Death Gun: Yeah, well, too bad my little bro's not on our side like he used to be. Didn't wanna have to go against him, but...
Autumn: He sure is missing out, isn't he? That aside, I'm really loving those three boys.
Madoka: You mean Sonic, Kirito, and Ichika? I don't care about the other two. I just want Ichika and Chifuyu dead.
Then, the leaders start to speak. As they make their suggestions what they would like to do with them.
Squall: We'll get them in time. The fact of the matter is they shouldn't be underestimated.
PoH: I think that we should lure them in.
Forte: What do you mean?
PoH: There are people that they care about. So what if we use them to get what we want?
Alicia: Are you saying what I think you're saying? I'm quite sure they will be weary of us trying to take their friends or family members.
Of course, it may be a bit of a challenge for Phantom Task to try and kidnap one who's friends with Sonic, Kirito, and Ichika. However, they can guess that they will try to take their friends in order to lure them in.
Gabriel: I think that we know that. I've learned that Kirito and Asuna have been called to the IS Academy to discuss what to do with us. However, Sonic hasn't shown up.
Forte: Now where could that Hedgehog be, I wonder?
Rain: Maybe we should pay a visit to South Island to see how he's doing. Can we do that, Aunt?
Squall: Well of course you can. Tell him I said hi, okay dear?
Rain: Sure thing. Are you with me, Forte?
Forte: Absolutely!
The two of them take off on their own to South Island.
Squall: I can't wait to see how this plays out.
PoH: Oh I definitely can't wait. To settle the score.
And so the leaders laugh as the young former IS Academy students deploy their units and take off to South Island to give Sonic a lovely greeting. And even he will not be expecting the kind of greeting that involves him getting beaten up by two IS pilots that used to be students.
