Brine travel through the forest day and night. It was difficult, for the forest was HUGE. But evenaulty, he found a way out.
Brine look outside of the woods. There was a small town just a mile from the forest. It wasn't big, but small enough.
"How am I going to do this?" Brine said to himself. Then he got idea.
"I will just blend in with the rest of the village kids," said Brine as he out his mask away. "But I would need to hid my sword and make sure I don't show my obsidian powers."
After hiding his sword, Brine, causally, walk inside the village.
He look at his surroundings. It was very different from his village. But he did noticed a shop.
"I need to buy some gear," said Brine as he check his stash. He raided all the houses in ruined village, leaving him with about 100 bits to spend.
Brine entered the store. Luckily, other foals were here too, so he won't be the oddball in the shop.
He look at the products. Climbing gear, ropes, backpacks, which he needed badly. And some weird treats.
He decided to buy a heavy duty backpack and a rope. He didn't need anything else, since he could just summon some fire with his magic and scourge for food.
"Why don't you want all of this kid," ask the cashier as Brine paid for his stuff.
"Camping stuff," said Brine, hopeing that the Cashier would buy the lie.
"Alright kid," said the Cashier as he handed the colt the stuff. "Have a nice day and nice hair."
Brine remember his unusual hair. It was Light Green, different from the other foals. Their Samurai hair cutter could never cut it or dye it either, like it was a piece of armor.
It reminded him of acid.
Still though, he didn't mind it. It give him a quiet hairstyle compare to other foals his age.
He walk around the village for a bit, doing his best to blend in with the other foals. Evenaulty, he walk inside a bakery to buy some bread, where he ran into other foals, mostly fillies.
"Did you hear what's going on in that town," said a filly. "Yeah," said another filly. "I heard they captured one of those freaks."
This peak Brine's interest. A foal with similar abilities to him. This can't be good. He look at the bread as if he was interested in it, as he esdrop on the fillies conversation.
"Yeah, I heard the folks over there are going to burn him to the stake tonight," said the filly. "It serves them right, to get rid of those freaks!" yelled the other filly, as the two walk off, laughing their heads off.
Brine watch them leave the bakery with murder on his mind. He was furious for those fillies to talk like that. He wanted to have them suffer a painful death.
"Brine, shut up. That will not help matters at all," Brine told himself as he purchase the bread.
Brine exited the Bakery, and realize night was falling. He remember what the fillies had said.
"I got to get to that village and save that foal," said Brine. "He must not die."
He ran back to the forest, making sure to avoid any parents and adults. He had a few close calls, but he had to stop because a couple was blocking his exit.
"This is great," said Brine as he hid behind a barrel. "I need to get them to leave. But how?"
Then he had a idea, but he wasn't happy with it. "I guess I have no choice," said Brine as he concentration his magic. Seconds later, a undead pony crawled out of the ground.
The undead pony look at Brine, waiting for his orders. "I need you to distract that couple," said Brine, hesitantly pointing to the couple. The Zombie Pony groaned in agreement.
The Zombie stumbled out into view and approach the couple. Groaning loudly, he got the noticed of the couple.
"Ahh! Zombie!" yelled the couple as they ran back into town, with the zombie pony in tow, allowing Brine to escape.
"I am never doing that again," said Brine as he gallop out of town and into the forest.
He luckily found where he hid his sword and after grabbing it, he ran into the direction the fillies had said to save the foal.
"I hope I'm not too late," said Brine as he ran like he never had before.
Of course, there was a bunch of obstacles for him to cross, but he trained for this and was skilled in acrobats and bypass them all.
"This is easy work," said Brine as he leap across the trench that seemed to appeared out of nowhere.
…
It was around Midnight when Brine finally arrive at the village, but he could sense something was wrong.
"Oh I hope he isn't dead," said Brine as he search for the foal, but came up empty.
"This entire town is silent," said Brine as he sat on a rock to think. But that's when he heard the screams of a foal. Base on the scream, it seem like a colt.
"I know where now," said Brine as he leaped onto the trees and used them to get closer while he remain hidden.
He reached a clearing, where he was horrified at the sight. The whole town was there, with a colt his age, getting beaten while tied up on a pole.
"We don't tolerate freaks around here!" said one of the townsfolk as he smack the colt, already bleeding and bruising from his early beatings. Brine watch on with his angry growing every second.
"Let's finish this, you freak," said two ponies as they enter the ring. Brine was p***. These ponies, were his parents. He could tell by his gut.
The colt's parents raised their torch's as the colt tried to get away, but it was useless as the father tried to put the torch in the colt's face when...
Slash!
The Colt's mother and the rest of the townsfolk look in horror as a black claw came out of his back, spilling blood.
The colt opened his eyes not to find him dead, but to the shock, a mask colt with unusual green hair had a spike black claw and his eyes, they were white and red, one in each eye,
Brine shoved the father to the ground, already dead. He had a deal with the rest of the ponies.
"Another Freak!" yelled one of the town ponies. "Kill him!" yelled another as two Unicorns charge at him with spears, but they didn't get close as his tentacles killed them.
The next few minutes was a blur, Brine couldn't recall it. He just did what he did best. Fight.
The colt pass out from exhaustion as the final pony felled to the ground, dead.
Brine look around him. Bodies upon bodies of the townsfolk laid around him. "Serves them right," said Brine as he put out the last torch. "I hope they all burn in h***."
He turned to the colt and got a good look at him. He had a green hoodie, with jeans. His face was scared from the beatings he took, but otherwise he look like a normal colt.
Brine took him down from the pole and immediately did some healing spells on him. It help, but he was still unconscious.
"Poor kid," said Brine as he teleported away as the morning sun raised into the sky.
Brine reappeared in a cave overlooking the city of Detrot, his next target. But his goal right now was to help the colt.
He turned around to help the resting colt. But to his surprise, the colt had vanished.
That's when he was hit in the side of his face, sending him into a wall. He got back up and saw the colt was up, ready to fight, but this time, his eye's were pure green.
Brine didn't have a time to say anything as the colt charge at him again, THIS time, sending him through the cave wall.
"Ow, this colt is strong," said Brine as he tried to catch his breath, but had to dodge once again as the colt tried to get him.
"Easy there," said Brine as he tried to hold down the colt, but the colt was in no mood to talk as he throw Brine to the ground.
"You talk," said the colt as he pin Brine to the ground. Brine was impress by the Colt's brute strength, even though it was common for Earth Ponies to have better strength then their Unicorn counterparts.
"I am not here to hurt you," said Brine calmly, which seem to help the colt to relax a bit as his eyes change to just green ones. "What is your name?"
"It's Dream," said the colt. "Who are you?"
"I am Brine, who just saved your life, now can you please let go me now?" ask Brine.
The colt, named Dream, unpin Brine from the ground and look around. "Where are we?" Dream ask.
"A few miles from Detrot, my next location," said Brine as he sat down to sharpen his sword.
"Hey, you look like you come from around here," said Dream, noticing his sword. "Where are you from?"
"I am the last Samurai," said Brine. "And my goal is to save foals like you from horrible fates."
"That makes sense," said Dream. "But why mean, out of any foal else, why? I'm just a loser farm colt."
"You are just like me," said Brine, making Dream really confuse. "We are both have powers in a world that hates them."
"What do you mean?.." Dream begin to ask as Brine summoned his claws, forming out of obsidian.
"Obsidian magic?!" yelled Dream. "No one has ever seen that!"
"I know," said Brine, his claw disappearing. "I was bullied for that reason. They would often called my a freak for having my gifts, but I refuse to listen. I fought on, till now."
"So what now?" ask Dream. "Everybody we knew is dead, so what do we do now?"
"I want to ask you to come with me on my quest," said Brine, as he put back on his mask and shed his sword.
"Dream, are you willing to come with me and risk your life to help save foals before they suffer the same thing you were had?"
Dream was speechless. He didn't know what to do. But it sound cool to him. And beginning with someone like him was better then getting chased out of another village.
"Yes," said Dream with his hoof raised. "We will, as a team, help the foals of this world who are feared by their people. We will save them from their suffering. Hoof up!"
"You got it," said Brine as the two hoof pump each other. "Detrot, here we come."
As the two friends head towards Detrot, the Adventure and their new life, had began.
