"I swear I will get my revenge!" I called out as I was buried under a building, looking at the two who had put me in this situation. "I trusted you; you were my brothers!" I yelled as I slipped my arm through the small opening, flipping them both off as they just stood there, watching. "Remember this, I will not die here, I will find you, and I will take everything away from you! Do you hear me, EVERYTHING!" I called out as the opening started collapsing, with me jerking my arm back before I ended up losing it like I had already lost half of my face from the flames that were consuming the building.
Years later
"Dear friend across the river." I sang silently, with a deep and empty tone, as I sat in a boat, watching as two of my closest friends... Ex friends... fought one another to the death. I had set things into motion. Told lies to their own friends to spread to the other. "My hands are cold and bare." I sang as I reached down and grabbed a beer. "Dear friend across the river." I sang as I broke the top off with a knife and drank from it. "I'll take what you can spare." I sang as I watched as the larger of the two started drowning the smaller one.
Flashback
Ducking under the table, I looked over to my right as a candle hit the ground. Seeing it roll, I saw it moving over to a canister that had been tipped over. My eyes widened as the flame was still lit. I got up to move away from it, but it was too late as it exploded, setting my right side on fire.
Flashback end
"I ask of you a penny." I sang as I watched as the smaller of the two break free from the lagers grasp.
Flashback
Rolling on the ground, I screamed out in agony. Finally putting the fire out. I looked up at the attackers, my brothers, as the smaller one tossed a device up and down in his hand. He tossed it over, with me smacking it out of instinct. This was a bad idea as it went off near the gas main, causing a chain reaction, taking out the building.
Flashback end
"My fortune it will be." I sang as I licked the broken glass, cutting my tongue in the process. "I ask you without envy." I sang as the smaller one got away, the larger of the two letting him leave. "We raise no mighty towers." I sang as I tossed the bottle in the water and started rowing away as he had failed me. "Our homes are built of stone. So come across the river." I sang as I glared at the bigger one, and I needed him dead first, before my plans could fall into motion. I couldn't do it myself; I needed the other one to do it for me.
Flashback
Pushing through the pain, my body beaten and broken. I was buried for three days. I was exhausted. No one was coming, I needed to save myself. Screaming, I put everything I had into lifting the rubble enough or me to escape. The rumbling from the rubble showed just how just moving a small amount was dangerous, but it was better than not moving it. Lifting it just enough for me to see, I could still see that the fire was burning, crackling.
The wind was blowing, but it wasnt strong enough to put out the fires that covered my tomb. Holding the rubble still, I gasped for air, grunting as I struggled to hold it in place for even a moment. Hearing metal clanking, I looked behind me as that was the origin of the noise. Breathing heavily, the wind feeling amazing against my skin, but burning my face even more, I let out one last cry as I lifted the rubble enough for me to jump out at the last second before it all fell with a thud, closing the tomb once and for all.
I laughed as I laid on my back, having survived death, but barely. "VANDER... SILCO... I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!" I screamed out into the night or was it day. This was one of the many things I hated about the undercity, you could never tell. Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out a purple vile. Opening it, I downed the liquid in a heartbeat, where I let out an inhuman scream as it burned me from the inside out.
Flashback end
Walking through a Topsiders room, I was looking for the power source that he had been working on. A magical one at that. Moving over to his desk, I saw a case laying on it. Reaching out, I heard a thud, followed by some grunts and more thuds. "All clear." A female voice called out from the Balcony. Covering the device, I moved over to the window and looked outside, seeing a bunch of teens from the Undercity.
"Who locks their balcony?" The skinny boy said as he started picking the lock. Pulling out one of my guns, I started taking aim at them, but stopped once I saw that one of them was just a kid.
'Hmm.' I thought, debating whether or not to kill them or not.
"There's tons of enforcers down there." The bigger boy said as he looked over the edge.
"Means we're in the right place. You goanna get that door open any time soon?" The red-haired girl, who seemed to be the leader, spoke before looking back at the skinny boy.
"Working on it. Seeing as I'm the only one who knows how to pick locks, I suggest..." He didn't get to finish as the red-haired girl kicked the door in, with me making a move for cover before they could come in. This being me jumping up to the ceiling and handing there, flat. "Animals." The skinny one said as he followed the others inside.
They started looking around, with me knowing that they didn't know what they were looking for. They simply were thief's who didn't know what they had stumbled upon. 'Either dumb luck, or bad luck.' I thought as I kept my eyes on each of them.
"You know, Claggor, for once you're right. We are definitely not supposed to be here." The skinny one said as he started stuffing things into his bag. Looking over at the smaller girl, I saw her knock some books over as she grabbed a horse and stuffed it into the bag.
"Must be an inventor." The red head said, with me looking at her as she started looking up as she examined the room. Using her turn to my advantage, I moved to be behind her as she walked over to the others.
"Whoa, I think this is a real Valdiani." The smaller girl said, with me looking at her as she messed with one of the items in the room.
"Oh, yeah? What about this?" The skinny boy said as he held out another device, with it pinching the air.
"That's a nose hair trimmer." The girl said without really looking at it, I had to hold in a laugh at how quickly she shot him down.
"Keep an eye out for anything that looks valuable, Powder. Before Mylo fills the bag with junk." The red head said, with me getting two of their names. The smaller girl, being Powder, and the skinny boy, being Mylo, as he had a reaction to his name being called.
"Uh... guys?" Mylo called out, where the red head and Claggor moved over to him, with me using that time to move into the next room as they were distracted. Moving down the hall, I reached the last room and went inside, closing the door behind me. Looking around, I needed to find what I came for.
Hear the doorknob click, I turned to the door as I heard humming. Moving up to the ceiling, I watched as Powder walked in. Her first instinct was to check out the books. Yet that didn't last long. She then looked over at the desk, seeing food. "Woo-hoo!" She called out as she picked one up and started eating.
Dropping down silently, I saw that she found the box for me. She tried lifting it, but it was too heavy. Crossing my arms, I watched as she opened it. Seeing that my prize was inside, I reached out to take it from her as she picked one up, but there was clatter from the previous room. Jumping up, I looked over at the door as I heard footsteps.
"Powder, we gotta go." The other girl called out, with Powder looking at her and grabbing my prize before stufing them in her pockets. As she ran, one of them fell out of her pocket, shocking me as it reacted. The girl looked at me as I charged at them. Grabbing Powder, I tossed her over my shoulder as I grabbed the arm of the girl and bolted for the balcony.
"Come on-Hey!" Mylo called out as I pushed them outside. Closing the door, I covered them as an explosion went off, where they let out a scream.
Watching at the ground behind me broke way, I let out a sigh of relife as it stopped short. Looking over the edge, I saw the guards looking up at me. "Sh¡t." I said, followed by the alarm going off. "You lot are with me for now, so move!" I said as I placed an part onto my gun. Taking aim, I pulled the trigger as they looked at me, followed by a wire shooting forwards into the distance. Pulling it off, I stabbed it into the wall.
"Who the hell are you?" The red haired girl questioned as she pushed me. Grabbing a clamp, I smacked her vest with it. It glowed blue for a bit and pulled her towards the wire where she was sent away.
"Questions later, right now we need to run!" I said as I placed clamps on the rest of them and send them after the first. Not having any clamps left, I grabbed the wire and slid along the way to make my escape.
Later
Running down the street with the kids in front of me, I kept my eyes on Powder. "Stop right there!" One of the guards called out, with me taking the sword off my back and slashing at the device as it was tossed at me.
"Faster!" The red head said as we ran through the plaza. Once we reached the other side, I looked up at the bridge and saw the guards were there as well. Moving ahead of them, I cut the devices down as they were tossed at us.
Reaching the drawbridge, it was coming up. Looking behind, I saw that the guards were gaining on them. Slowing down, I let them pass me. Taking my gun, I twisted it, with it seperating into two. Once at the center of the bridge, I jumped over the gap, shooting at the guards.
Once we reached the next part of town, we ran down an ally. "This way!" The red head called out, where the others turned down it but Mylo.
Grabbing him, I pushed him down the right path and continued following them. Reaching a narrow ally, we came to a stop at a sewage entrance. Grabbing it with one arm, I ripped it off. "Oh, man, not again. I just got this shirt!" Mylo yelled, where I grabbed him and kicked him down.
"Stop complaining and go!" I ordered, with them getting in one by one. Powder was the last, and before she could move, I stopped her. "I will be coming for what is mine." I said, pointing to her pocket. "Till then, stay with the group!" I said as I pushed her in. Taking the covering, I placed it back and took off, as I was too big to fit, especialy with my armor.
Later
Finding the group, I watched as they had a full on browl with another. Seeing Powder take the goods, she ran, followed by another. Narrowing my eyes, I gave chase as she had what was mine. Jumping from roof to roof, I did my best to follow them. Reaching the docks, I could see the boy had lost Powder. Once there was a noise at the end that she was at, he went after her.
Before I could jump down, I saw her toss something at him. It landed by his feet, and with a small pink dust cloud, it ended. He laughed at this, with me jumping down behind him. Watching as he turned around, his eyes nearly popped out of his skull as I grabbed his face. Lifting him up, I slammed him into the ground. Picking him back up, I slammed him into the wall. Twisting my body around, I tossed him over the edge and into the water, where he would no dought become fish food.
Looking at Powder, she flinched. Walking over to her, she hugged the goods.
Flashback
"I'm not a fighter!" I told Silco and Vander as I finished another bomb. "I provide the explosives for the war, and that is it, nothing more and nothing less!" I said as I looked over an empty case. Silco stabbed a knife into the table, making me jump at his sudden anger.
"YOU ARE MAKING THINGS WORSE!" Silco yelled, where Vander pulled him away.
"What he means is, it would be best if you joined us out on the front lines. I agree, because putting explosives in random kids hands, isnt the way." Vander said, making me frown as that was all that I could do.
Flashback end
"You... ok?" I asked stopping at the bomb she had. Picking it up, I opened it up and saw that it was novice at best. "You need a better trainer, someone who can show you the ropes." I said as I walked over to her. "That someone, could be me." I said as I passed it over to her. "Come on, I'm sure your friends are done fighting by now." I said, jerking my thumb in the direction we had come from.
"What about-"
"I don't care about that right now; I will take it later." I said as I ushered her along.
"Who are you?" She asked, with me looking down at her as she questioned me.
"Just call me... Slade." I said as we walked in silence.
Later
Finding the others, they stopped running towards us once they saw me. Stopping as well, I looked at Powder. Opening the bag she had, she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. Pulling out the Valdiani, I tossed it up and caught it. "For my services." I said as I turned around and started walking away.
"Wait!" Powder called out, grabbing my arm. "You mentioned that I needed training... where can I find you?" She asked, with me stifening up at her question.
"First... you must ask Vander about the Dimolitions expert, ask him where his tomb is. I will be there. You show up with anyone, and I will not approch you. Only when you are alone will I train you." I said, rubbing her head before walking away, leaving her with her friends.
