No One POV

Carrying Zelda back into the castle Link walked by numerous guards and servants of the castle.

"The queen..."

"Who is he??"

"Is that the hero?" They all said.

"Link??? How did you get here?" Purah said. "What happened to her?"

"Sheikah slate. Fe told me she was in danger..." Link replied walking down the corridor that the knights used to frequent. His room was comfortably nestle on the back left. "Tell me... why is she staying in my room?" He asked walking to the door.

"Oh... so you know?" Purah said glancing down. "It started about a year after you left."

"You say 'left' like I wanted too... " Link replied flatly.

"She had seen you hurt and almost die enough in her life. Regardless of how she felt personally she wanted to give you a chance for happiness..." Purah said.

"Did she ever consider I was already happy with my life?" He said opening the door. Walking over to the bed he laid her down and brushed her hair from her face. "She really can be dense..."

"It didn't help you never spoke much even after the defeat of Ganon. You were gone so frequently when it was over. She didn't think you wanted to be here... Link what happened to her?" Purah asked folding her arms.

"I don't know... one second she was talking with Sidon, the next her eyes were black and she was falling from the window. Didn't want to be here? I was trying to finish things people asked if me...let's just drop that topic"

"She did it again? That's twice in one day... normally it's once every few weeks..." Purah said.

"She's done this before?" Link asked walking to the cupboard to get her a blanket... as beautiful as that dress was, too much of her was visible. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. Purah grinned.

"She put that one for you.. she thought you had come to visit her."

"Purah not now." Link said sternly, "tell me about these episodes...

Zelda POV

"Did she ever consider I was already happy with my life?" Link said.

He didn't want to leave... but he went so easily... I thought my heart aching from the realization I sent him away. Fading back into slumber I woke again...

"Occasionally she has moments... it's like she is not there. Her eyes go black and she grows still. Impa has been concerned maybe it's a residual effect from being swallowed by malice for that long. She was in stasis some 100 years. She always says the same things. 'This isn't real.. this isn't real..help... Link...'. Shortly after it happened to moved to your room... even she feels safest around you" Purah said.

"So that explains the tunic..." Link said.

"Tunic?" Purah asked

"I teleported here this morning not expecting her to be in this room... or wearing my tunic..." Link replied. He cleared his throat.

"Mmhmmm" Purah said a smirk definitely in her face. Purah... now is not the time... I thought. My cheeks flushed at her implications.

"Purah. Focus. Fe told me she was not alone. I think part of the malice we sealed is still in her... and growing strong by the day. Fe said I could seal it but I don't know how. I refuse to pierce her with the sword."

"Link, we can figure it out. There must be a way." Purah said.

"There has to be. I won't accept another option. She's been through enough evil with that bastard now he's in there toying with her. It makes my blood boil" Link said anger dripping from his voice.

"Now you understand why she sent you away? How you feel about Ganon using her is how she feels about her having you as a protector. You've done enough. You've sacrificed so much of your life for her."

"I'd hardly call being around her a sacrifice." He said quietly taking a deep breath. My cheeks flushed again.

"So you heard what Sidon asked I presume?" Purah asked. My heart started to pound. "I take your silence as a yes."

"What about it Purah?" Link groaned.

"Well I mean I have to agree with him..."

"She'd hate being married to him." He said flatly.

"Oh I agree that's not what I was talking about. I was saying that we all thought she'd marry-"

"What about the springs..." I said sitting up quickly interrupting Purah. I shot her a glare.

"Zelda!" The both said.

"I'll get you some water." Link said as he glanced at me the Purah before walking out.

"okay fess up.. how long were you listening?"Purah asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I lied.

"Sure, so what's your plans go to the three springs?" Purah asked uncrossing her arms she went to my wardrobe and pulled out my normal adventure attire. Leather pants white and blue top. The she pulled out something else. "Have you really been sleeping in this..." holding up Links tunic. My cheeks burned.

"It helped with the nightmares..." I said quietly.

"Maybe just have him stay a while Zelly from how he sounded earlier he never wanted to leave." Purah said. "Well then, im off to speak with Impa. Link bossy pants order everyone around after you collapsed. Even told Sidon to go home, should have seen his face." She smiled. "Anyway, see you later Zelly" she finished skipping out the door.

"She is far to cheerful that girl..." I groaned holding my head.

"Are you hurting?" Link asked.

"Oh no, not at all, just Purah can be... a lot" I replied taking the cup of water he brought me.

"The springs again? We can go whenever you'd like...if you want me to come that is." He said glancing down.

..."did she ever consider I was already happy?"

"I am sorry.. Link." I said tears forming.

"Sorry?? Whoa why are you-"

"i shouldn't have sent you away.. I should have called you back sooner when this started. I haven't seen you and years. I don't want you to think I am using you again..." I cried harder now.

Silent... that's how he always was...

"Zelda, You did what you thought was best. Right now we need to figure out how to get him out of you. For now, pack your essentials, and take the Sheikah slate." He said pulling it out. Opening its map he pointed to a spot near Hateno Village. "Go here I'll meet you in 3 days. You will be safe there. I'll go inform your guards and the rest of you council. Will you manage?" He asked looking at me.

"Yes... " I said looking at him. My heart began to swell. Like it was about to burst.

"Okay I'll see you then." He smiled then patted my head before walking out the door. Quickly I grabbed my things, even bud tunic, and and pressed the blue rune.

Link POV

"She is safest with me." I demanded. "Right now she is in battle for her own mind. Locking her up will not fix this!" I yelled staring at the Hyrule council.

"Link, we understand that it is your wish to take her with you but we cannot simply let someone just take our Queen..." Andrina said.

"Would you allow the Zoras to help her? Our people could keep her safe? My father would be more than willing to give all our aid to her recovery" Sidon said.

"Given your recent request Sidon, this might be the best choice especially should our kingdoms be joined... what did her majesty say to your proposal?"

"Well-"

"She did not agree." I interrupted.

"Well if she has declined you offer it is best we speak with her and see what she would prefer. Please summon-"

"Madam Andrina!!" A guard yelled bursting in, "the Queen is gone!"

"Gone?!?" The council said in surprise.

"It would appear by the hero's lack on concern means he already knew this..." Sidon said walking towards me. His anger evident.

"Even if I knew where she was it wouldn't matter she has the Sheikah slate, she's as good as gone until she is ready to be found." I said, "but I know where she is going...So I pledge before this couldn't to return Zelda to the kingdom. Do you accept?" I asked smirking to myself inwardly at the checkmate I had just served them.

"Very well Link. Protect our Queen and do what must done for our kingdom." Andrina said.

"Well played... I think I liked you better when you didn't speak brother." Sidon said walking past me. I grinned

Once I left the castle, I went down to castle town. If would be a few days to Hateno. hopefully she will be alright in haha time. I can making it in a day and half if I ride through the night. Grabbing some supplies I pack hoed and called my horse. Using the ancient tech saddle and bridle made it easy to get my horse anywhere. Petting her side I looked her in the eyes,"I am sorry but we really must hurry". Climbing on her back we rode off towards my home.

Zelda POV

it has been a long time since I had used the Sheikah slate, but when I opened my eyes I was no longer in Hyrule castle. I was standing outside by a small pond with a modest home next to its. Breathing in, I could smell the earth, the trees, and my freedom for some small period of time. When we sealed Ganon,I began rebuilding out kingdom.

Walking around the pond I saw the front of the house and outside a sign that read "Links House". I grinned. The idea of Link home was an adorable. Come home every night from adventures, relaxing, training, us having dinner. Us having dinner? I shook my head. "Focus Zelda".

"Um, excuse me...have you seen Link?" A small child said . She must have snuck up on me.

"No, he is out right now, but can I help you little one?"i said crouching down.

"uh well my mom is sick again... Link normally brings us chill shrooms that grow close to the spring of wisdom. Do you know when he will be back?" He asked.

"Wait here a moment let me look inside if he doesn't have any I will go fetch them myself" I said smiling thing patting her head. I walked into Links home and was greeted with what would shock most people if they didn't know him. His walls were Covered in various weapons, shields and bows. I smiled, "looks like you can't make him take a break after all" Turning right I saw a small storage area and began rummaging through them. After what felt like ages and many empty crates later I was unsuccessful.

"Maybe up here?" I said climbing the stairs. My cheeks turned pink when I got the the tops Links bed was unmade, he must have woken up and immediately come to see me. He had water by his nightstand with a journal . You are Then looking to the walls my heart ached. There hanging was a large photo of the divine beast champions, link, and myself. Tears began to sting the sides of my eyes.

"Your her aren't you..." the little girl said. "Link looks at this photo a lot. I know everyone in it."

"Oh is that right??" I said wiping my tears and smiling at her.

"Yes! That's Daruk, strongest Gordon there was. This one here is Ravali, Link says there's not one as fast and as skilled with a bow like him. Then there's Mipha and Urbosa. Both skilled fighters. I wanna be like them some day." She smiled.

"The who is the one in center" I asked looking at the me from 100 years ago.

"He never told me her name, only that she was the strongest woman he's ever know. He's never said her name but he often looks at that portrait. My guess is that's princess Zelda.. oops I guess your Queen now.." she said smiling.

He stares at this a lot?

"I ask about you, he doesn't give me much, normally stories of your studies. Last time he said 'see Naru, she was strong and beautiful, just like you!' Then he'd tickle me." She smiled.

"Well he isn't wrong, I think maybe you should wait here and I will go get your mushrooms. Okay?" I said smiling.

"you might want to change it's freezing on that mountain" she said running to his wardrobe and pulling an outfit from it. "Here this is what he always wears." After she handed me the garment she smiled, "I'll be waiting at the dye shop for you. Be careful Queen Zelda.

"Do you think you could keep my being here a secret Naru?" I said crouching down

"Most definitely!! All the ladies in the village would go nuts knowing Link had a lady in his house" she smiled

"why?" I said turning pink.

"He's not married, everyone wants him as their husband" she smiled and walked out.

Husband...

"Shake is off Zelda" I said to myself then changed into his snow outfit. The arito always did make Such fine clothing. Pulling my hair out of the top I looked in his mirror, I was a little big but it would work. Walking downstairs I grabbed a sword and smiled and bow strapped them to my back.

"Ouch!" I said as my hair was getting stuck in the gear. Sighing I took the small pair of scissors and took a deep breath."it's fine I've been wanting to do this for ages... " I said calming myself, then cut my hair short. It was the the base of my neck now. Looking in the mirror I braided to small pieces on the sides and then walked out the door picking up the hair I had cut off. The wind carried it from my hands it was Gone. I am strong... I will get these mushrooms. Grabbing the Sheikah slate I opened the map and selected the shrine at the spring of wisdom.

It had been some time since I'd been at the spring of wisdom but the cold was definitely something I would never forget. Luckily this Rito gear did just the trick.

"Now to find chill shrooms" I said walking out and in to the wind. Stepping in to the spring was bone chilling but as I turned to look at the Hylia Goddess statue flash of red blocked my gaze. Rubbing my eyes everything went black. Again there was a purple and red floating haze. The water was thick and odorous. Looking at Hylia I saw the halo effect. She shown a faint gold but a strong golden hew encased her keeping the purple and red out.

"Come..." her voice said hushed..."quickly before he notices you..." I rushed for her. I screamed when I felt the painful grip on a hand on my ankle. Looking back I saw what caught me... a massive greenish gray shriveled hand...

"Princessssss" another voice said... its tone raspy and struggling to speak. " Where do you think you are going..."

Crying I began clawing at the ground. "let me go!" I screamed.

"I will help you... hold out your hand..." the Goddess statue said. I did as she said and a bright golden light burst forth.

"ARGHHHHHHH" the other voice screamed in agony. And disappeared. The Haze lifted, able to finally stand I got up and walked towards her.

"Thank you." I said struggling to stay upright.

"You must not leave Link..." she said as my vision went black.

LINK POV

Dawn had begun as I arrived in Hateno. My horse exhausted and myself as well. Walking to my house I opened the door. All the lights were off except the lo. "She must be awake." I said as I went up to check on Zelda.

"LINK!" Naru screamed from the bed. She had been crying all night from the looks of her eyes. "She hasn't coming back... she's hasn't returned."

"What is it Naru? what do you mean?" I asked.

"The pretty woman from the picture... she went up the mountain for chill shrooms yesterday afternoon..." Naru cried.

"She did what?!?!" I yelled. Walking to my wardrobe I opened it and saw my Rito outfit gone. At least she dressed warmly... Grabbing my snow boots and warm doublet I walked out the door. "Stay here Naru. She used the slate correct?"

"She disappeared like you do.." Naru said. "I'm sorry Link... I needed them for my mom, she said she wanted to help you" Naru cried.

"It's okay Naru I will get her." I sighed looking at the mountain this is going to be a long climb without the slate.

As I made my way up the mountain, I was attacked least 10 different times. Between the bats, bokoblins, and little ice golems, needless I say this trip was proving difficult.

"Screeeeeeee!" A bokoblin yelled as my sword pierced its gut. My vision grew blurry for a moment using the sword to steady my self I caught my breath. "Almost... there..." I said ragged. Half walking and jogging up the last snow peak, some 3 hours later since I left the village I made up the mountain. When I got to the spring I dropped to me knees seeing Zelda. She was laying in the spring her lips were bluish, but she was breathing. Then I heard a low growl. Looking up I saw the Wisdom spirit. It glanced at me then blinked.

"you remember me don't you?" I said putting my sword down. "I removed the malice from you before." A loud roar left its mouth, then it put one clawed foot over Zelda as to shield her from me.

"I won't harm her... I am here to help her." I said putting my hands up. The spirit stared at me... then looked at her. Finally with a chuff it leaped into the air and through the clouds out of sight. Springing I ran towards Zelda and took the Sheikah slate. Grabbing my sword and her I pressed the transport button, but it wouldn't take us. Glancing around as midday was the over head sky shown blue I picked Zelda up and carried her into the shrine behind the spring. Sealing the door I grabbed wood and flint from my pack and made a fire.

Pulling out peppers some pumpkin and some meat, I made a warming stew and feed it to her then myself. With the door sealed the shrine entrance room was warming quicker than I thought it would.

"I can't carry her down... I'm too weak... " pulling more wood from my pack I placed it on the first and pulled her into my chest. "You need to be be warm, and I need to rest, please allow me this...if you wake don't panic. I am here with you..." I said brushing my lips on her forehead leaving back against the wall letting exhaustion finally claim me.

Zelda POV

it's so warm... I thought scooting closer to the source of heat. I moved my hand to feel what I was clingy to and then heard it. I heard one big deep breath in then out. My eyes shot open to see a dimly cavern. Turning my head I could see the blue glow of the shrine and the read embers of a fire rang had recently burned. I titled my head as little and saw Link sleeping. He had one hand around me keeping me tight against him while the other held the master sword in his hand. I shifted a little and then his grip tightened on me. Stopping my movements I tilted my head looking up at him. He looked so peaceful yet strong.

This man...

Even after 5 years he continued to go grow. Still the same height but laying against him I couldn't feel the difference in his strength. Well I better not wake him...wrapped my arms around him and moved closer.

"Zelda???" I heard him say groggily. Then he slowly sat up.

"hi..." I said leaning away from him.

"One second..." he said moving until we were no longer touching. Already I was feeling the lack of heat...or maybe it was just the lack of him. He put down more wood striking some flint and a fire roared to life.

"Link... I-"

"...What we're you thinking?" He said low his back to me. Picking up the Sheikah slate he turned around. The low light only sided a little in showing his expression right now, but it was enough. He looked exhausted and worried.

"I wanted to help Naru... I thought I could, and it was going fine until..." I said remembering everything that happened. "If Hylia hadn't saved me... he would have dragged me off. Ganon he grabbed me this time... I don't understand what's happen into me..." I said tears falling from my eyes.

"Shhh" he said coming back over he sat down and pulled me back into his lap. Running his hand down my head then my back he spoke again," did you cut your hair?"

"Yes... I thought it easier to manage this way..." I said pulling back and toying with a loose few strands. "Is it horrible?"

"No.. it's nice..." he said with a small grin. Placing his hand on my cheek he used his thumb to wipe my tears away. "Don't cry..."

"Hylia saved me... " I said again more tears flowing.

"The springs spirit protector also was guarding you when I got here. He didn't want to turn you over to me at first" He said pushing my hair behind my ears.

"This shrine entrance luckily has a door so I was able to keep you safe and rest." He said, "we should probably head back. Naru will be so worried that the 'beautiful lady' had been gone this long.." he said grinning "Here, teleport back to my house and lay down, please don't go anywhere I will get her chill shrooms and be down very soon." Standing I took the slate.

"You must not leave Link..." Hylia's voice rang in my head.

"Can we go together? I don't want to have another episode...and be alone..." I said shyly.

"We can...hand me the slate" he said. Shyly. Opening the door he walked out and motioned for me to follow. Then he summoned a large horse looking contraption.

"What is this?" I Asked

"'My divine beast. It's a transport" he said walking over to me. "Ready?" He asked?

"For.." I asked right as he picked me up and put me on the back. "Oh..." I said embarrassed. He he chuckled and straddled this weird heart. Then he reached back behind him with both hands grabbing mine. My heart skipped about 8 billion beats. Pulling me forward he wrapped my arms around his waist. "Eep" I blushed.

"Not thinking weird thoughts now are we?" He said a smile evident by his tone.

"what? You're ridiculousssssssss" I screamed as the machine roared to life and we sprang forward. He was racing down the mountain. I started laughing from all the fun when we finally slowed I opened my eyes again. "Can you let go for a second?" He said smiling turning around Goddess that smile..."yeah sorry," I said turning pink. Luckily night had fallen so my embarrassment was concealed. Link slide off the bike and grabbed 4 small chill shrooms placing them in his bag. Climbing back on we raced back down the mountain until finally he stopped outside a house.

"One second. I need to give these to Naru's mother" he said climbing off. "Please don't wander."

"I won't." I said watching him nod and walk into the house. It was night but the village of Hateno was pretty well lit. Various lights seemed to be placed throughout and Shops were still open. Looking across the way I say a clothing shop. He said not to wander... next door should be alright... right? Climbing off the horse machine I walked over to the shop and opened the door. Inside there were numerous outdoors for sale and some food pieces

"Can I help you?" A small voice said. I turned to see a woman standing in the corner by the door.

"oh yes, you do have an women's clothing?" I asked.

"yes, she said pointing towards the manikins. Looking I saw a hylian outfit that sported a more armored top than its male counter part.I also saw the same cloak and pants Link had. "I'll take this set." I said pulling money from my pouch. "Can I change here? My clothes are a little damp from be snow."

"Are those... Link's?" She asked. "You may, how do you know Link?" Turning pink from her own question she turned away. "Go ahead and change." She said flatly.

"Thank you, I've known him what feels like my whole life..." I said stripping out of the wet Rito clothing. Pulling up the hylian trousers, the door opened with a loud annoyed voice behind it. "I thought I told you now to wander-" Link said his eyes on me... I was only in Hylian pants. I covered my chest immediately turning red. I mean I did have a bra on under but still.

"Link I know!! I'm sorry but I was just soaked in those clothes..." I said and for the first time I saw an expression I never had before on from him. His face was flushed, he coughed a few times then turned scratching the back of his head.

"I had other things at the house you could have worn... just hurry up so we can go home" he said the walked out.

"Right!" I said quickly putting on the top and cloak. Once I finished I walked out. He eyed me, "come on this way..." he said. Walking through the streets numerous people stared at us. I was definitely on the receiving end of many ugly looks from women. Guess he really is sought after. I wonder if in all this time he ever...

"Link!!!! pretty lady!! I knew you'd save her!" Naru said running towards him and giving him hug.

"Go on home now Naru, your mother is worried sick. I've given her the mushrooms." He said patting her head

"Yes sir!" She said skipping towards the bridge. "Bye Pretty lady! I'll keep our secret!" She yelled. I smiled at her.

"Straight home Naru! You hear me?" He said, sounding like a true father. That girl must be... 5 years old... is she his???

"I swear she is just like her mom" he said.

"Where is her father?" I asked my heart pounded in my chest waiting to break at any moment.

"He died in the war against Ganon. Right after she was born. Some large lizardmen attacked this village and he died defending it. A lot of the men here did, what is this secret you two have now?" he asked.

"Oh. Nothing Haha" I replied.

"Come on then let's go home and eat, you need to rest" he said.

I followed him back into his home as he kicked off his boots and went to the kitchen. "That gear will be helpful but not comfortable to lounge around in. Go grab whatever from my wardrobe until we can get you more items."

"I already brought something." I said going to the loft I stripped down again,"don't look..." This time I changed into some white cloth shorts and put on Links champion tunic I had from the castle. I know I shouldn't wear this in front of him...but I do feel safest in it and it's comfortable...I though tucking my hair behind my ears walked back downstairs.

"Can I help you cook?" I asked as he turned around dropping the pan he was holding. "What?" I asked

He cleared his throat, "nothing, uh no I'm okay but you can hang our wet clothes outside. Here," he said pulling the doublet off. He handed it to me. My face flushed 1000% over seeing his bare chest. I was right he was much stronger now his muscles more defined. Noticing my embarrassment he darted upstairs really quick and came back down in a light shirt and shorts outfit as well l.

"My rock climbing set was always the most comfortable" he said, handing me his pants. I nodded and walked outside to hang out clothes... Hylia help me.. I thought as an image of him shirtless flashed in my mind again. Shaking my head I headed back in.
