Chapter 2 – Ahsoka: Old Men Are Confusing
"And that's my story." Ahsoka finished with a deep breath.
Harry looked deep in thought for a moment.
"So, you were taken from your home at a young age?" Harry confirmed looking up at her and when she nodded, he continued.
"Joined essentially a cult and were indoctrinated from a young age to cut off emotions and have no attachments?" That part had seemed to upset Harry a lot, Ahsoka wondered what was going through his mind.
"It isn't a cult! It's a privilege." Ahsoka argued.
"Okay, okay sorry." Harry put up his hands in surrender.
A sudden crack interrupted any further conversation as footsteps were heard walking towards the door.
"Hello there, Petunia my dear would you mind so horribly if I speak to Harry for a moment?" A voice echoed from both downstairs and through the open window.
There was no audible reply, but footsteps were heard making their way up the stairs, continuing until the door opened.
One of the strangest humans Ahsoka had ever seen walked through. He was tall, taller than SkyGuy. And he was wearing the most outlandish robes she had ever seen; they were pink and yellow with stars moving all over them. He had a long white beard that seemed to reach his waist with long white hair on the top of his head too.
The man stopped and stared at Ahsoka. His mouth fell slightly open in shock. Harry noticed this and stood up to make introductions.
"Professor this is Ahsoka Tano, she is a Togruta from the planet Shili and needs to find a way back home. Ahsoka, this is Professor Albus Dumbledore."
Dumbledore closed his mouth and after listening to Harry thoughtfully turned to her.
"My dear, I am not sure we have any way for you to get back. You see the people of this planet have not managed to travel further than our moon. Let alone travel out into the galaxy. I believe for the time being you are stuck here." The words caused Ahsoka to slump dejectedly only for her to perk up again.
"I can rebuild a ship! I just need the parts." She said excitedly.
"We can certainly try my dear what parts do you need?" He cautiously asked.
Ahsoka used the force to bring a notepad and pen to her causing dumbledores eyebrows to rise. Ahsoka took no notice, chatting away happily as she wrote down a list of things she would need. Handing the notepad over to Dumbledore caused his eyes to widen even further.
"My dear, I am afraid I am unable to read this. The language is not one I am familiar with." He shook his head sadly before attempting to cast a translation charm on the notepad only for nothing to happen. "It appears not even my translation charm can allow me to read this language."
Ahsoka looked disheartened, before starting to talk rapidly.
"I need a hyperdrive, hyper matter I need a power core and a whole bunch of durasteel. And that's just a small amount of what I need."
"I am sorry Ms. Tano, but that is not possible none of that exists here." The words shot through Ahsoka like a blaster shot. She fell to the floor, all hope left her. Her emotions began to gain momentum quickly escaping her control and things around her started levitating and rotating like she had her own gravitational pull.
Dumbledore's eyebrows rose again before suddenly all movement stopped as Ahsoka began to calm herself.
"Ms. Tano, how old are you?" Dumbledore asked cautiously.
"I am 15 Master Dumbledore." Ahsoka replied dejectedly.
"My dear, we may not be able to get you home at the moment but I am sure eventually the opportunity may come. For now, though, how would you like to come study with Harry at Hogwarts this year? We can teach you to hone your powers and do more incredible things than you could possibly imagine." He spoke with a small smile on his face. Before looking thoughtful. "Although, we will need to get you a wand and other supplies. Perhaps Harry would be willing to help in that area." Turning towards Harry as he finished his thought.
Ahsoka gained an arrogant smirk. "I am sure there won't be much you can teach me about the Force if your species hasn't managed space travel."
Dumbledore raised an eyebrow before waving his wand and turning Harry's bed into a pig.
"Hey!" Harry shouted in confusion. "That's my bed!"
"Sorry my dear boy, but I felt a demonstration was appropriate."
Ahsoka was staring in shock. Not only had this old man turned a bed into a pig but neither he nor Harry seemed shocked it was possible. The fact that she had felt it in the Force only told her what she was seeing wasn't a mind trick or an illusion.
"Ahsoka, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do but I would really like it if you came to Hogwarts with me." Harry trailed off blushing.
"So would you be my new Master until I can get off this planet?" Ahsoka asked turning to Dumbledore.
"Merlin no," Dumbledore replied, startled. "I will be a professor and headmaster of the school. Masters and apprentices are typically for after you finish school."
"Apprentices…" Ahsoka asked shocked, trailing off. "Master and apprentice relationships are of the Sith!" As she spoke she stepped back pulling out her lightsabers.
Dumbledore stood calmly, the plasma blade barely reaching his beard.
"My dear, I am not sure what these Sith are. But I can assure you I am not one."
Ahsoka seemed to calm as she disengaged her lightsaber. Searching the Force for the truth she could detect no lies from the man in front of her.
"Alright, I will join Hogwarts." When the words came out they sounded resigned, like hope had been lost.
"Fear not my dear," Dumbledore said smiling. "I feel you will find hope soon enough. Have Faith." And with those words, Dumbledore walked out.
Ahsoka turned to Harry. "Well, if I am going to stay here and learn your world's Magic, I believe I shall also train you in the ways of the Jedi."
Harry stared in shock before nodding vigorously.
"Well then, Let's begin."
-O-HPAFG-O-
Ahsoka wasn't sure what to feel at the moment. In the Jedi Order, she was always told she was too headstrong and passionate. But if she was too much for the Order, she would hate to see their reaction to Harry.
Harry had refused to call her Master. He claimed that they would be teaching each other and as such there was no 'Master' in their relationship. Then she began to teach him meditation and very quickly she noticed some strange things happening when Harry began meditating. He seemed to create his own gravitational pull, lifting objects off the ground and then causing them to orbit around him subconsciously. The Force seemed to sing as he finally connected with it and she felt confident that she was making the right decision to train Harry in the Force.
Harry had also begun teaching Ahsoka his language, using his books and letters to show and sound out each word on the page. Due to her meditation and Jedi techniques, she started to pick up the language, English quite fast. Once she had the basics down, she began reading the Basic Book of Spells Grade 1. With Harry explaining concepts and revising the work with her. His reasoning was so far, he hadn't put much effort into studying and now that Ahsoka had to learn everything from the start, he should revise too so that he had a better understanding of any practical magic he wanted to teach her.
Ahsoka and Professor Dumbledore had begun exchanging letters. He had wanted to know what the Jedi had been teaching her and what kind of world she belonged to. She had answered all his questions and once she mentioned the focus on meditation and clearing and controlling emotions, Dumbledore had sent her some books on something called 'Occlumency'. Needless to say, she had devoured the books quite quickly only to discover the first steps were exactly the same as the meditation teachings of the Jedi Order. However, the difference came when in the Order, the Jedi were told to detach themselves from the emotions while Occlumency asked the practitioner to acknowledge the emotions of each and every memory in their life, accept them and move forward.
Ahsoka had begun this process feeling a little unsure, what if she returned to the galaxy and found she had changed too much? The Order wouldn't want her anymore. Only to realise these thoughts were something to analyse and use her new understanding of Occlumency. She accepted those feelings and she felt calm again.
Turning towards Harry again she began to think about how strong he was in the force. He was like a beacon, shining far brighter than anyone she had ever met in the galaxy including SkyGuy. He was also picking up the techniques extremely fast for someone who had begun his force training so late. Already he could sense and use the force to guide him. It had only been two weeks since Ahsoka had arrived and already she felt like his knowledge of the force would surpass him in a few short years.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Harry's voice startled her out of her musings.
"Harry," Ahsoka said controlling her breathing. "You scared me."
"I thought Jedi never get scared," Harry replied smirking. "What were you thinking about?"
"Just how far you've progressed in such a short amount of time. I can't believe two weeks ago you had never heard of the force."
"To be fair," Harry replied. "I have been using Magic for three years, I know how it feels when I cast a spell and since the Force and Magic are the same thing. I already sort of knew where to look for it."
"That is true, anyway. I believe you are ready to begin reinforcing your body with the force. This part may be tricky as I don't believe you have anything like this on your planet."
Harry nodded. "How do I do that?"
"First," Ahsoka's voice began what Harry called her 'Teaching Mode'. "I want you to feel the Force, not only inside you, but around you. Let it envelop you, covering every inch of your body and merging with it. Let it give you strength and feel it in your bones as it becomes one with you."
She watched as Harry's face scrunched up in concentration and started to laugh. He looked constipated and she told him so.
"Shut up Master, I am trying to focus." Ahsoka shut up and watched as Harry's body began to glow, she had never seen that happen when a Jedi used the Force before. Not for the first time she wondered what Harry's midichlorian count is. And if it was higher than SkyGuy's.
Suddenly Harry himself started levitating as the glow got brighter, before finally he stood. Ahsoka wasn't sure what to say and was about to try and say something before Harry had vanished. She looked around confused only to hear a whoop of joy above her. Looking up she saw Harry about 10 meters in the air and falling quickly. She began to panic as she hadn't told him how to use the Force to cushion his landing but right before he hit the ground he somersaulted and landed crouched down.
His smile was wide in exhilaration and his hair was everywhere, but his eyes shone with an excitedness as he grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. Ahsoka barely had time to react before he let her go, stepping away with his head down and blushing. Ahsoka was sure her face was more Orange than usual as well.
Ahsoka cleared her throat. "Okay so apparently you can also easily use the Force to reinforce your body. Let's go for a run.
If anyone happened to look outside their houses in the town of Little Winging. They would have seen two blurs flashing down their streets.
A/N I really want to thank everyone for all their support. I'm studying at uni now so I can only really write when I get the chance but I got a lot of support on the first two chapters. As I have said this is my first story and so as much as I love writing I'm not sure I am doing everything right. So please review if you have any questions or criticism. (please make it constructive :D) And finally if you enjoyed please make sure you follow and favourite, that lets me know people like my work and I should continue making it.
