Commander Fox,
If someone took the Honourable Senator for Sullust just outside of Coruscanti airspace and then zhe mysteriously disappeared, would they still be liable for prosecution under Coruscanti law for murder? Asking for a friend.

Senator Amidala,
No, as long as the Honourable Senator for Targappia disappeared at the same time and they sliced into both the Senate and GAR comm systems to delete this email chain.
(Is it possible for you to impress upon Senator Thule that my troopers have their own duties and are not intended as a replacement for his senatorial aides or for sending on errands? After the incident with Senator Qndori, none of them feel capable of refusing.)

NEW VOICE MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM darling :
Unexpected leave. I'll come around tonight, but I have to leave early tomorrow.
LOG OF VOICE MESSAGE TO darling :
I won't be there, I'm afraid. Pulling an all-nighter to rewrite this bill in the hope that we can finally get the support of Senator Bibbbi. It's absurd that zhe doesn't want safety railings on landing platforms! I understand the importance of tradition — does zhe think I would wear all of these exhausting outfits if I didn't? — but the preservation of life comes first. People can't follow traditions if they've fallen three hundred stories off a building and hit a dozen speeders on the way down.

Bail,
Could you pick up a six pack of Zeert on your way? I know your doctor won't let you drink it anymore but at least one of us needs to be awake to write this bill. And maybe some loovar candy as well.
Thanks,

I hope you don't plan on drinking all six of them. You may be young and spritely, but your spleen won't thank you. Also, if this is a date, I'm going to have to tell my wife.

I would have thought she knew we were dating already — or doesn't she keep up with Galactic Weekly? Hopefully she won't be too devastated by the news of our torrid affair.

Padmé,
Have you considered wearing less distinctive clothing while conducting your torrid affairs? Far be it from me to criticise your fashion, but it might be less obvious to the sludgenews outlets that way. Alderaanian fashion is ideal for this, and I'm happy to ask Breha for recommendations for a good tailor.

I can see it now, SENATOR ORGANA BUYS MISTRESS NEW WARDROBE. Bringing this back to our terrible date, you've got the statistics from Coruscant Med, yes? I've got the info from Lamoramora and Orowood but not them.

SUBJECT: Re: Public Works Regulation Bill 38874.6
Senators,
Your revisions to the proposed bill did not alleviate my concerns. The people of Coruscant are used to heights, and it is frankly insulting to imply that the populace is so incapable of basic safety that they cannot prevent themselves from falling off platforms. While I appreciate the allowances you proposed in regards to preserving the traditional features of our architecture, that does not change the fact that the electorate has no interest in these reforms. Why should the people of Sullust care what Coruscanti building regulations are, and why would they accept a use of their taxes to undertake a monstrously expensive public works project?
I would advise you focus on your own sectors and the war effort. Wasting time on this minutiae is an affront to the people suffering in Separatist space.

I have taken the liberty of purchasing such a horrendous amount of alcohol I had to double check I wasn't using my senatorial account in case it comes to the attention of the accountants back home. I'll be free from six-thirty. Once I've got back from Dentaal (hopefully I will have recovered from the no doubt enormous hangover by the time I have to leave on Centaxday), we can go back to that draft arguing for the position of a senator for Coruscant. Surely this time we can use the Chancellor's emergency powers to show he's far too busy to also represent Coruscant?
But first we must get very, very drunk. See you soon.

Senator Amidala,
It is my understanding that you have personal connections with several members of the Jedi Order. I would appreciate if you could provide a way for me to contact them without going through official senatorial channels. I have reason to believe my safety is at risk, and I do not wish to put in a request the standard way because I suspect it is one of our colleagues. While I am well aware that many of the Jedi are otherwise occupied in leading the Grand Army of the Republic, I am sure the Jedi Council will recognise that protecting the well-being of senators is an essential part of the war effort. What are we, if not our democratic institution?
I share this with you in confidence, of course, and hope I have not misjudged your integrity.

TARGAPPIAN SENATOR ARRESTED FOR MURDER
CORUSCANT—Targappian Senator Anthage Thule was taken into custody yesterday on the charge of the murder of Sullustan Senator Pjon Bibbbi. Bibbbi, who was found dead from fall damage forty-seven levels below the eastern landing pads which served the Senate Rotunda, was unpopular, according to sources. "Zhe seemed to take joy from blocking bills," an anonymous senatorial aide told HoloNet News. "The new Sullustan president only made zhem worse. I'm surprised someone actually killed zhem, but I doubt you'll find anyone here who's sad about it."
Some sources were surprised Thule was arrested and not Senator Padmé Amidala, who was questioned early on in the investigation. Bibbbi had blocked several of Amidala's bills, and she was overheard several times discussing the possibility of harming zhem. Sources attest to the fact that Amidala was questioned by the Guard, and some have suggested that Amidala's clone sympathies may have influenced the Coruscant Guard's decision not to pursue her further.
When asked for comment, CC-1010, the commander of the Coruscant Guard, said, "We are confident we have arrested the right person. Our early investigation included following several leads that gave us helpful information, and should not be misinterpreted as putting anyone under suspicion. We cannot give any more information at this time."
No motive has yet been uncovered by HoloNet News for Senator Bibbbi's murder, though there is speculation that it may be due to zher obstructionism.
This is the second time in two years that Senate Rotunda landing pads have been the site of murder; immediately before the passage of the Military Creation Act, a bomb was detonated on the platform in an assassination attempt on Senator Amidala. Although Amidala survived, several of her staff were killed.
The Targappian governor could not be reached for comment.
