Hello friends! As I promised you guys on instagram ... heres my brand new OneShot (sequel to Marine Corps Birthday Ball and Thunderstorm) I worked on since a few weeks and finally Ive got time to finish it. I really hope you guys like it.

Sighing softly, Jennifer ran a hand through her long, red hair. The last few days had not only been physically exhausting, but also mentally challenging. There was a lot to do, several meetings and discussions, and the most recent was the conference in Paris. Normally Gibbs would have accompanied them, but he was equally absent. The MCRT was assisting the local police in Baltimore with a murder case related to the Navy, so he couldn't go to Europe with her. She was alone in Paris, the city of love, where it all began.

Thoughtfully, she let her gaze drift over the streets. The conference was particularly long today, and a good hour ago it had finally come to an end. Outside it was already dark, the lanterns illuminated the narrow streets and from her room, she could see the Eiffel Tower shining. So many memories that came up in her, and yet she missed it very much.

A knock snapped the redhead out of her thoughts. After a quick glance at the clock, which told her that it was actually very late, she went to open the door. Not very surprised, Jennifer looked at the person in front of her. It was Tom Smith, the director of the CIA, and he had already tried to invite her for a drink after the conference. She had declined the offer, though, really just wanting to be left alone.

"Yes?"

"I know you leaned on the hotel bar to have a drink with me; that's why I thought we could have a drink here."

She smiled thoughtfully, leaning against the door frame and keeping her arms crossed in front of her chest.

"Look, I appreciate it...I really do, but I stand by my no, Tom.", she repeated her earlier statement.

"Come on, one drink, and I'll leave you alone, Jennifer."

The tightly built man eyed her, this of course did not escape the redhead, but still, his attempt to spend some time with her failed miserably. Of course, it was no secret that the directors of the other agencies kept trying, asking her to meet them and going out for dinner or drinks. No one knew about her relationship with Gibbs either, how could they? After all, it was nobody's business, including Tom Smith.

"Tom."

"What's a beautiful woman like you doing alone in this room? What's with a drink?"

He didn't give up, kept trying, and didn't even notice that she showed no interest at all in letting him in the room.

"No, it stays that way.", she said, reaching for the door buckle; "Sorry."

Just as she was about to close her room door, she could feel him put his foot in between to stop her from doing so. With one hand he pushed the wooden door open again, but eyed her again and could clearly sense her uncertainty.

"What are you doing?"

"I know you want to, too.", he muttered, taking a step closer to her.

"I think it's better if you leave now.", Jenny said sternly, stopping him.

The redhead looked at him suspiciously, trying to increase the distance between them again, but with every step she took away from him, he got closer.

"Don't play me Jenny, I can see you want it too."

His breath smelled of alcohol, so he had already drunk a little in the bar, in any case this did not excuse his behavior. The man, who was clearly taller than her, grabbed her arms. With his right hand he held her arms, above her head, pressed against the wall, reducing the evening distance between them even more, so that their two bodies were separated by only a few centimeters.

Her heart beating violently against her chest, she tried to free herself from his strict grip, but had to realize that she was clearly too weak for him. She couldn't get away, didn't stand a chance.

"Everyone here knows how you got this job offer, why are you so tense?", he asked softly in her ear and when Tom noticed how she turned her head away to avoid noticing his, alcohol-smelling breath, he got angry.

He tightened his grip as he felt her trying in vain to free her arms, while he slowly stroked her waist upwards with his other hand.

"How many times did you need to sleep with Jarvis to achieve this position?"

"Stop it!", she growled sternly, and the further his hand slid upward, the faster her heart beat against her chest.

"Twice? Three times?", he asked softly, burying his hand in her hair, taking in the scent of her perfume. "Everyone here knows, you don't have to fool us, Jenny."

Tom looked deep into her eyes, letting his gaze wander briefly to her lips.

"Stop it!"

"What's he offering you? I'll double it..."

The man of the same age tilted his head down a bit, touched his lips barely noticeably to her neck, and now she could feel his hand all over her body again. This feeling of helplessness was terrible, and the fact that none of the other guests could be heard increasingly worried her. She wanted to get away from here, from him, from this room, from the hotel... Just away from the nightmare. But how?

"Let me go!", she screamed, still not giving up her attempts to get away.

Just in time, one could think, her silent prayers for someone to come along were answered. Just in time as Tom started to push her black skirt up a bit with his hand. The person grabbed him by his shoulders, tugged him off her, and she was finally able to move her arms freely again. Jennifer didn't really notice the person at first, was just glad that someone had finally come, freed her and pushed Smith out of her room.

Only when a few seconds had passed, and she had collected herself, did she realize what was happening outside the room in the corridor.

Her savior in distress was none other than Leroy Jethro Gibbs himself. But how had he gotten here? How had he found her hotel and her room? After all, the front desk had been unmanned for an hour! Basically it didn't matter, she was just glad to be away from Tom Smith, everything else could be discussed later. What mattered to her now was that Gibbs didn't beat him to death. Quickly she had run to him, grabbed his shoulder and tried to pull him off Tom.

"Gibbs.", she said loudly, but he didn't seem to have heard her.

"Agent Gibbs!", she repeated his name, grabbing his attention. "Don't do this, stop...please.", she whispered the latter more hotly, trying to get her emotions under control.

"He didn't hurt me, Jethro."

"Yes, Jethro...", Tom croaked out of breath, holding his bleeding nose with one hand. "I didn't hurt her."

"Get out of here, now!", the senior field agent growled, giving him a dismissive look.

It was also no secret that Gibbs didn't think very highly of Director Smith, and the incident which had just occurred was the last straw. He had touched her, touched her and had he come just moments later... Gibbs didn't even want to think about it much, his anger would only grow, and then he couldn't guarantee to be in control.

"Get out of here!", he yelled, not even noticing at first how Jenny flinched slightly beside him.

The chief investigator turned away from the man, in front of him, carefully brought Jenny back into the room and also immediately locked the door. Didn't want to give him a chance to get in here again. As soon as the door was closed and both had some air to breathe again, he examined the petite woman in front of him. She was as white as a sheet, trembling all over, and he could see a glimmer in her eyes. Without wasting any words, he pulled her into his arms, gently stroking her back as the rising sobs stung his heart.

"It's over, I'm here.", he whispered softly in her ear, hugging her even tighter, preferring to never let her go.

With one hand he continued to stroke her back, while his other hand was on the back of her head, caressing it with his thumb. He wanted to give her a feeling of security, to show her that the nightmare was over.

Several hours had passed since that incident and Gibbs had not left her side, watching her sleep and holding her tightly in his arms. It had taken him a long time to calm her down, promising her to make sure not to let Tom near her again. First thing in the morning he would talk to the SecNav, tell him about the incident, and try to escort her to the conference room, so he could keep an eye on Smith. Never would he allow him to harm a hair on her head.

The fact that he had actually come here to surprise her, take her out to dinner and spend the rest of the evening with her was now moot.

Lost in thought, he stroked his fingers over her arm, looked at the ring on her finger, and a smile stole onto his lips. Four months ago he had proposed to her, even though he had promised not to marry her, because it didn't really matter whether they were married or not – the only thing that mattered was that they were together again. But somehow the thought of taking her as a wife did not let him go, and he made nails with heads, asked her and when she then also answered with a "Yes.", he could hardly believe his ears. Although it had been some time now, it still felt as if it had happened yesterday. Surreal! But he was happy if she was, and they could still get married in a year, they didn't want to stress about it – they had time, so what was the point?

Jethro was, as untypical as this was for him, so deep in thought that he didn't notice how she woke up again. Only when she started to move did she grab his attention.

"Hey.", he said softly, making her sit up.

Silently, she sat up in the big bed, looked around the room, and before she said anything, she put her head in her hands, couldn't help a deep sigh. The last few hours had messed her up, and although she slept, she didn't sleep well. When she suddenly felt his hand on her back, she was startled before realizing that it was Gibbs who was touching her so gently.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"No, it's okay...", she whispered and lay back on the soft mattress.

"How are you?"

She shrugged her shoulders, putting her hand to her forehead before closing her eyes. Yes, how did she feel? She couldn't even describe it properly. Tom had left such a mess inside her that she felt nauseous just thinking about tomorrow's conference. How was she going to get through this? How was she going to stand being in a room, sitting at a table with him?

"I don't want to go there... Tomorrow.", muttered Jen.

"Should we go home?"

Yes, right away!, she thought, but she couldn't. Besides, this would just look stupid, would she make up some excuse to the SecNav just to fly home as soon as possible and the other directors would just get a new negative image of her again. She didn't want to give Tom that satisfaction.

"I can handle it."

"You know if it were up to me, I'd be on the next plane home with you.", Gibbs said, putting his hand to her cheek, stroking her soft skin with his thumb.

"I love you."

"I love you too.", Gibbs replied and leaned down to her, placing a kiss on her forehead. But tomorrow, the sun was shining.

The rest of the night passed without complications. Her sleep was very restless, but who could blame her? It was one of the reasons Gibbs decided not to wake her up immediately at eight o'clock, let her sleep. While she slept, he not only organized breakfast through room service, he had also managed and intercepted Jarvis in the hotel lobby.

His conversation with the Secretary of the Navy about yesterday's incident and his request that Jenny be excused from the first meeting at nine o'clock seemed to have worked. While he could not cause Tom Smith to be excused from the conference, he was able to ensure that he was allowed to be present throughout the appointments to stay with her.

When Jethro entered the room, she still appeared to be asleep, so he joined her at the edge of the bed, brushing the stray strands of hair from her face. His lips curled into a smile as she slowly opened her eyes.

"Good morning.", Gibbs said softly.

Smiling, she returned his 'good morning' and rubbed her eyes, noting that she was still wearing her makeup from yesterday. She probably hadn't remembered to remove it.

"How bad do I look?", she asked more hotly.

"Beautiful.", Jethro answered her before.

"Liar."

Jennifer pulled him into a lingering kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck as Gibbs returned her kiss. They kissed deeply, for a long time, only separating again when they both ran out of breath.

"Thank you.", Jen whispered against his lips before stealing another kiss.

"Not for this."

"Yes, just for that."

Gibbs caressed her cheek, looking into her beautiful green eyes, before Jenny sat up. Her hair, which had been tied into a loose bun last night, hung loosely over her shoulders. Aside from her runny makeup, there was surprisingly little sign of her exhausting night, though he wasn't entirely sure if that wasn't due to her makeup.

"I promised you a long time ago that no matter where you are, and no matter when, where, or what time it is, I will always come and save you."

"Have I told you how much I love you?"

Gibbs didn't answer, pressing a kiss to her lips instead. Pleasuring herself, Jennifer pulled her lover to her, letting herself fall gently onto her back and, feeling him let the kiss intensify, wrapped her legs around his hips. Without breaking the kiss, Jethro ran his hands under her clothes, tenderly stroking her belly with his fingers. Goosebumps formed on her body and a low moan escaped her throat as he gently nibbled on her neck with his teeth. Before they would go any further, however, Gibbs abruptly stopped what he was doing.

"Are you okay with this?", he asked cautiously.

She nodded; "Yes."

"I'm with you, you don't have to go in there alone."

She nodded. They both stood in the elevator, and he could not only see her nervousness, he could feel it. In the past few minutes, he had still tried to ease her tension, but he could understand why she felt uncomfortable sitting at a table with him for a whole three hours. But this time he wouldn't give him a chance to touch her even once.

"The SecNav knows, but he'll want to talk to you later, too."

Mutely, she nodded again. Of course, he wanted to, after all, he also needed to hear from her what happened last night in order to be able to take in the entire matter and eventually deal with it. After all, this was no small matter, it was about sexual harassment and Jarvis was also involved in this incident.

"You okay?"

"I'll be fine.", she said composedly as they both arrived at the desired floor.

The meeting started in a few minutes and outside the large meeting room all participants including Tom as well as the SecNav were already standing. Her heart was pounding as she got closer to them, but she knew Jethro was behind her and would provide enough distance between Tom and her.

"Director Shepard, a word.", the SecNav said after taking a few steps toward Jennifer.

Carefully, barely noticeably, he touched her elbow as he led her into the room with him. Before beginning their conversation, he closed both doors, so they were undisturbed and could talk without interruption.

"How are you?"

"Fine.", she replied curtly and sat down in one of the chairs after Jarvis gestured for her to sit.

"Jennifer, I really want to apologize for what happened yesterday."

Confused, Jen looked at him; "You don't have to, sir."

"Yes, I do, I know you don't have it easy as the head of an agency and by being one of the first female directors, this is of course even harder.", Clayton Jarvis began to speak; "I often overhear more than you think, including the talk and stares of the other directors, yet of course what happened yesterday is unforgivable, and I assure you it won't happen again."

Jenny nodded, swallowing hard as she listened to him.

"Agent Gibbs informed me this morning. However, I've already told him as well, I can't exclude Director Smith from the conference, but I can make sure he doesn't come anywhere near you immediately."

Silently, Jenny regarded him, not knowing what to say. It was a big load off her mind to hear that Jarvis was also taking this incident seriously and was working to find a solution for the rest of the day.

"I'm going to talk to Director Smith as well, but before I do I'd like to hear from you that you're okay, and he didn't hurt you."

"Everything is fine."

"Jenny.", she could hear Gibbs behind her. "You have to tell him."

Silently, she lowered her head, tugging nervously at her blazer. The whole situation made her more than uncomfortable, and now that Gibbs was also part of the conversation, it didn't make it any better.

"Are you going to tell him or should I?", he asked, watching her.

Gibbs took her silence as confirmation to tell him about the hematoma on her wrists. It was not for nothing that Jenny wore a blazer over her blouse today, so the view to her arms was limited, and the hematoma was not immediately noticeable.

"It's nothing.", she reinforced her statement, but this didn't really seem to work on Gibbs or Jarvis.

"I need to know, Jennifer.", he repeated his statement from earlier.

Reluctantly, she rolled up her sleeves a bit so that the SecNav could actually see everything. And indeed, on both her hands, exactly where Tom had held them yesterday, there were slightly bluish marks. It wasn't much, but it was there, and it made Gibbs even angrier.

"All right, I'll take care of it. Anyway, I'll get back to you in the next few days."

Sighing softly, Jenny was still standing by the large, round conference table, packing her things into the black folder. Although she had already missed one meeting, she felt so tired and flabby that she was clearly looking forward to the lunch break that had just begun. She desperately needed some fresh air, needed to clear her head, and just as she was closing her folder and leaving the room, someone stood in her way.

"Listen, about yesterday...", Tom started to speak.

She eyed the man in front of her and the sight of him didn't make the whole thing memorable or better, but the noticeably swollen nose and redness on his face, made her feel a little better. He was getting what he deserved.

Silently, she walked past him and could feel him reaching for her arm. Instantly, she jerked away from him, giving him a scowl.

"Don't touch me.", she growled softly.

"Give me five minutes so we can work this out."

"Hands off.", Tom could hear behind him.

Gibbs had been gone a mere two minutes and already Tom had made his way back to Jenny. Apparently he hadn't learned anything from last night, the Marine thought to himself, and got the redhead out of the room in the same minute.

"Everything okay?", he asked quietly, putting his hand on her back as she walked toward the elevators.

"Yeah...", she confirmed to him.

"You haven't even told me why you came to Paris in the first place."

Jethro handed her a coffee mug. They unceremoniously decided to have a coffee outside the hotel, also to get some distance from all the hustle and bustle. Distraction was exactly what she needed right now.

"The case of the dead Navy officer in Baltimore is solved, we had a breakthrough, so we were done earlier than we initially thought."

"And then you decided to get on the next plane and come to Paris.", Jenny noted, letting her gaze slide across the Seine.

"Exactly."; Jethro agreed, unable to stifle a grin.

However, when Jenny stopped abruptly, tucked her sunglasses into her hair and looked at him seriously, knew something big was coming. She hadn't said anything yet, instead reaching for his hand and squeezing it tightly.

"When you asked me to marry you, we swore to always be honest with each other, didn't we?" she asked, eyeing the gray-haired man thoroughly, to which he only nodded.

"Do I have to worry?"

"No."; she replied with a smile on her lips; "I may not have lied to you, but I did keep something important from you."

Thoughtfully, Jethro looked at the woman in front of him. What would happen? What was she going to tell him? Silently, he watched her every move, watched her pull something out of her jacket pocket. It was a white envelope, folded so that it would fit in the small jacket pocket without falling out. Hesitantly, Gibbs looked at the item in his hands, unsure if he even wanted to look inside the envelope.

"Don't worry, it's nothing bad."; she tried to ease his tension; "Just open it."

Impatient to see how he would react to this news, Jennifer waited until Gibbs finally opened the envelope.

"Since when?" he asked directly after looking at the contents.

"I've known for about two weeks, but if you look closer, you'll see that I was already pregnant when you proposed."

"That means you're now thirteen weeks pregnant?"

She nodded, looking at him with mixed emotions.

"I know we never talked about it, and somehow it never came up, after all, neither of us are thirty anymore and there are so many complications that can arise, but..."

Gibbs stopped her desperate rambling with a gentle kiss. He was surprised himself, not knowing where to put his feelings or how to deal with them, but at that moment he was just happy it wasn't something bad.

"I love you so much."; he said breathlessly; "I know this news is surprising and not easy to digest, but I know we'll both make the best of it."

Tears shimmered in her eyes, but this time they were tears of joy. She was happy that he was not angry with her, that she had kept this sweet little secret for herself and that he was happy to have this new chance, the new path that life had in store for both of them, to walk together with her. The next few weeks and the next few months would not be easy and there would be some hurdles ahead for both of them, but he wanted to walk every hurdle together with her.

"Promise me one more thing.", she said softly, looking up at him. "Now that you know I'm pregnant, don't kill Smith."

He smiled at how well she knew him. If Gibbs had known his fiancée was pregnant last night, he wouldn't have been able to restrain himself from breaking more than his nose.

"I promise.", he replied at the same volume before taking her head between his hands and kissing her again.

What do you think? Let me know :)
