They lined up and placed their hands on their chests. The blue rainbow pearl smiled and addressed the diamonds.

"My diamonds, we are here to help and support you in your specialized needs." He smiled.

"How will you help us? We don't even know what your purpose is as a gem." Yellow glared suspiciously, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Ah we can do exactly what you need," he turned to Pink, "My diamond, Pink. Tell me about something you want. An object that you wish to have."

She flinched when he addressed her and she nervously looked to White for approval. She shrugged and Pink let out a breath.

"O-okay, um, I want a round thing that can roll around." She said, a small smile on her lips.

"Perfect my diamond." He held his hand over his gem and it glowed as a bright orb came out of it. He held the orb in his hands and smoothed it out and it flashed. It revealed a round and shiny silver ball that sat in his hand. He held it out to Pink.

"Here you go my Diamond, this object is called a ball by the way. Toss it on the ground, you will be pleasantly surprised."

She held it with wonder in her eyes, then she dropped it and it bounced against the floor, she gasped in glee and picked it up again. White cleared her throat and she stopped, hugging the ball to her chest.

"Impressive, if I showed you diagrams of an object could you create it?" Yellow asked, giving the ball a side look. The purple one of the pearls piped up.

"Yes, my diamond! You could also describe the purpose you need fulfilled and we will create something to fulfill it. Even if it takes a few experiments to adjust, we will provide."

"That's a great way to put it, Gem." The first pearl said.

"What did you just call them?" Blue asked.

"Oh, I called them Gem. It's easier than saying Miracle Gem or Rainbow Pearl. We each have nicknames to tell us apart. You may call me Rain. The bright pink one there with the gem on his forehead is Bow, and the last one is Mira, his gem is on his navel."

"My gem is here on my palm, see?" Gem held out his palm to Yellow, who leaned back a bit and raised an eyebrow.

"I…see, um, would you be able to help us colonize other planets then?" She asked.

"I believe so, with some experiments and trial and error we could create a viable colony." Mira said, his hands behind him.

"Fine, we will see how useful you are, but if you fail, there will be dire consequences for you." White stated.

From there, each Miracle Gem was assigned to a diamond. Rain was assigned to be with Pink, much to White's disapproval at first, but Pink convinced her with her charms, which were actually just puppy dog eyes and a childish pout. Bow went to Blue, since his color was opposite of Rain's, who was blue. Pink thought it would've been cute for Blue to have a pink assistant like Bow. Gem happily stayed by Yellow's side, despite her protests. MIra bowed to White Diamond and she rolled her eyes, but allowed him to join her court.

Many years passed, the Miracle gems aided in their promise for colonization across the cosmos by creating the tools necessary for expansion.

The injectors for creating gems, the ships for going further into space, the communicators for colony gems to contact homeworld. The rainbow pearls were behind it all. As the years went on, each one of them settled into their respective courts. Gem happily crafted weapons and ships for Yellow, all the while trying to make her smile with little toys and crafts. Bow gladly sat by Blue as she let out her emotions, listening and giving advice, creating objects to bring up her mood. Rain allowed Pink to open up and be herself behind closed doors, creating toys from her imagination. Mira was the most busy, creating everything his diamond wanted, but everytime it wasn't perfect or exactly what she wanted, he wasn't seen for a while afterwards. Eventually he would appear again at galas or meetings, but he became more quiet as time went on.

"Come on, White, please! I know I can do it, especially with Pearl and Rain by my side! This next planet is ideal for a colony, and Blue and Yellow already have so many on their hands." Pink begged.

"No, PInk. You are far too precious to leave Homeworld, and running a colony is a very serious responsibility." White stated. Rain was standing by Pink as she argued, he glanced around and he couldn't see his brother anywhere in the white room. His attention was recentered with what Pink said next.

"Rain, tell her what we talked about before, you know, your idea for a new generation of gems?"

"Ah, yes my Diamond. With the advancements of life we are encountering in the newer colonies, we are in need of more sturdy gems. I suggest creating a new gem type, Quartz. It's a tougher gem that is more resistant to cracking than a topaz or Agate. I have also studied the geology of this new planet. The high level and variety of natural materials across the planet could result in the best gem soldiers." He said, and Pink excitedly nodded and smiled brightly at White.

"See? Rain is the leader of his brothers, it would be best for him to go to this planet, and since he is in my court I have to be present." She playfully stated.

White rolled her eyes, "Ah fine, how could I say no to you Precious. Pearl, please gather a crew and landing party to join Pink on her journey." The pearl with her broken gem over her eye nodded with a tight smile and she went out of the room quickly. "Pink, your Pearl and Miracle gem will also be joining you. Get some topaz and Bismuth to load a transport ship for the journey."

Pearl saluted and turned to overlook the preparations, as she left Pink gave her an excited smile and she returned it with a nod. Pink grabbed Rain by the hand and practically dragged him back to her tower, talking excitedly about the plans she has.

"PInk, are you sure you want to leave Homeworld? I didn't see Mira in there, I'm worried White has him locked up again." Rain said, a worried look on his face.

"I know, I worry about him too. I just hope you and your brothers are more sturdy than a regular Pearl. You saw her Pearl, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't heal her broken gem." She looked sad for a little bit, then continued, "I need to get away from here, I need to explore a new world! I am so bored here, you understand, right?"

Rain nodded, "Yes, my diamond. I have a feeling that this colony is going to be exciting."
