Imagine if I killed off Persi in the 10th chapter of this fic that has her as the main character :p
Of course I won't do that-I don't plan on introducing an OC anytime soon.
Anyway, enjoy this new chapter.
"Please come back," I muttered under my breath as I threw one last glance at the small crowd that was surrounding Persi, before I saw Diana stroll over to the crowd and parted them, disappearing in the small cluster of people.
I could only hope that Persi makes it back to me.

Drew POV
A low groan jolted me awake.
Without realizing, I'd fallen asleep on top of Persi in the hospital room.
"Ah shit…I might've hurt Persi more." I sighed, sitting up as I watched her eyes flick open and dart around.
"…the fuck?"
We're those seriously her first words after waking up? Gods she's so adorable when she's clueless like this. I love her. Speaking of which…
"PERSIS JACKSON! Don't you DARE scare us like that again!" I yelled at the newly awake Persi, before burying my head in her chest (which was now unarmoured). "I thought you died!" I said, holding back tears that threatened to fall.
"Drew…I'm sorry, but I had no control back there…one moment I saw you wounded and my tattoo burned, and then I saw silver and suddenly I heard you calling out my name. Then this happened." She said, and looked at my confused face. "What? That's how I remember it."
"You saw silver? How? Also what tattoo?"
"I don't know exactly…but on the tattoo, I'll show you." Persi said, and began pulling off the purple T-shirt the medics dressed her in. I watched in fascination and shock as a tattoo unveiled itself, stretching from the base of her neck to her forearm.
"How come I haven't seen it before?" I questioned. "I swear that it wasn't there before. There's no way I've never seen it-I sleep in the same bed as you do."
"Well…it might have had to do with me becoming the champion of Artemis. She told me that whenever a champion is selected by a god or immortal being, a tattoo is burned-" she noticed my horrified expression, "-with little pain onto the left or right arm of a champion, depending on which hand is the minor hand. That means the hand that is not used to write or cook or do anything important."
"I see…what is it's use then?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
Persi smiled tiredly before replying, "I dunno either. You'll have to ask-"
"Me. Or at least, my counterpart." Artemis-no, Diana strolled into the room, accompanied by Hazel. "I know what a tattoo does, but I can't really tell you what it contains-I don't really understand my counterpart. But again, we share a lot in common, so I might be able to help."
"Wait-could you help me out here then, Lady Diana?"
"Oh, drop the 'lady' bull crap. I'm your patron-at least treat me like you treat other people. Other than your girlfriend, that is."
Persis let out an "aw" before she nodded. "Okay, La-no , Diana."
Diana smiled, before she walked over to the left side of Persi and began closely studying her intricate tattoo. Hazel, who'd entered the tent with Diana, stood there uncomfortably as she kept glancing between us two.
"Aha!" Diana suddenly exclaimed, breaking the uncomfortable silence. I know exactly what your powers are now."
I raised an eyebrow. "So the tattoo tells the patron about every power their champion has?"
"No, no. Only the powers gifted from said patron to the champion. Outside of those, the patron won't know by simply studying the tattoo."
Sounds neat, I guess. "So, what powers did I gain?" Persi asked, and Diana smiled slightly before she began.
"Well, first off, you have heightened stamina, agility, vision and smell. Oh, also hearing. You can also sense the auras of stronger monsters and demigods, as well as immortals. That's a power basically everybody blessed by me has, so let's move on to the more interesting ones. You gained the ability to resist charmspeak, as I am asexual and can't be affected by powers such as charmspeak which rely on manipulating the inner lust and desire of people. You are also able to use the powers of the moon, such as using moonlight to vaporise enemies, or utilising moonlight to travel between places, as well as heal and regenerate stamina underneath moonlight. Most importantly, you can bend said light to form physical barriers or invisible forces-I'm sure Drew can tell you about how you used moonlight to push away the werewolf that was about to kill her."
"Wait, that werewolf did what?"
"Not that important now you killed it. She was about to stab it anyway." Persi looked on in relief as Diana continued, "you also gained a rare ability. The ability to fly." Persi's eyes grew as wide as dinner plates as she asked, "How? Do I levitate, or am I gonna manipulate the moonlight to lift me up?"
Diana sighed. "The answer is more simple than you think. You now have wings."
"WHAT?" "Shut up! Do you want to wake the whole camp?"
"As a matter of fact, camp Jupiter wakes earlier than…where you come from, so most people are up eating breakfast right now. That's besides my point though. You can ask Drew or anyone else who witnessed you invoke- you grew a pair of white wings, they are attached to your shoulder blades."
"What? Where?" Persi asked, as she tried to glance over her shoulder.
"It's not there, you idiot." I said, rolling my eyes. "I think you have to summon it or something."
"As a matter of fact, she has to. You heard me say the word 'invoke' right?"
"Wait…don't you tell me she has to enter that…state again. I am not sure if I can call her back out of it." I replied, nervousness evident in my voice.
"Don't worry, dear girl. Once a champion 'invoke's, they gain full control over their powers and can invoke anytime, though it will drain them of their energy, and if they stay invoked for too long, they can die. In the worst case, fade, as one foolish boy selected by my brother demonstrated." I must've looked shocked, worried and scared at the same time, because Diana chuckled before continuing.
"However, Persi's case is unique- while in theory she is still a demigoddess, she is partially immortal, and with links to the moon and sea and hearth, her energy storage is…basically unlimited. Of course, I don't recommend you to constantly invoke, as you can potentially lose yourself to the powers of a champion. And I'd hate to put you down after having saved you."
"I…see. Thanks, Diana. You've been really helpful so far."
"So far? Hm. I hate how you look down on me like that." Diana said, feigning hurt, though her eyes shone with Humor. "Anyway, before I go, there'll be a surprise at today's senate meeting. You're gonna be attending it, alongside Drew. We're gonna be explaining some…important stuff today."
Diana then stood up, before hugging Persi lightly and walked towards the door. Just as she was about to exit, she looked at me pointedly. "Oh, and Drew, look after your girlfriend will you? Keep her on a tight leash-figuratively and literally. I'm sure she loves it." Ignoring the scandalised yelps coming from Persi and my tomato-red face, she smirked and shut the door.
"So…I was here to thank you, Persi, for saving me a while back. And to tell you about the senate meeting that requested you two to be there. But…I guess that's not needed now, so I'll…um…get going." Hazel said, slightly uncomfortably.
"Haze, what's wrong? You look uncomfortable." Persi remarked, and Hazel looked down at the ground.
"It's just that…you know, I was raised back in the 80's. Girls being with other girls…it really isn't something that is accepted. Especially within my household, where the neighbourhood was catholic."
"I see Haze. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, I can always ask Drew to leave for a bit while me and you…you know, catch up."
"Hey!"
"Don't worry about that, Persi, Drew. I…I'm gonna have to get used to all of this anyway…I'll stay and chat for a while."
"Aww, haze, you're the best!" Persi said grinning, before spreading her arms. "Come on, give your old friend a hug?"
"Nope." Hazel said, popping the "p". Persi pouted, and I couldn't help but snicker at how adorable she looked like that. "Come on, Haze, just one?"
"Nope!"
"Please?"
At this point, Hazel couldn't hold her laughter in and burst out laughing, with me falling suit. "You…you minxes!" Persi yelled, feigning annoyance as Hazel got up and hugged her tight, still chuckling as they broke their embrace.
"Stop laughing." Persi pouted.
"It's funny! Ask Drew!"
"No! She's gonna laugh at me too!"
"Regardless of whether you asked or not, it was funny."
"No one asked for your opinion!"
"Aw, I'm hurt-"
"Heh, you guys…ha, you guys are so funny! And…cute."
"Haze, are you blushing?"
"N-no!" Definitely blushing.
"Aww, look at poor haze, she's stuttering too. Why don't we give her a hug?" Persi asked, a mischievous glint returning to her eyes.
"Sure! You sure love cuddling, by the way."
"W-what? No. No. S-shut up."
It was at this point I burst out laughing at the two girls in front of me, reduced to stuttering and blushing heaps by words. Hazel soon joined in, and so did Persi.
Gosh, I loved this girl. And if things were heading where I think it would, Hazel would be a nice friend to have.

Drew POV
"I wanna get some muffins!" Persi whined next to me, and I laughed.
"No muffins for you. Not yet, at least. We have a senate meeting to attend" Hazel, who was now dressed in a Toga, replied sternly, and Persi turned to me with puppy eyes.
I punched her in the shoulder.
"Ow!" She grumbled as Hazel chuckled. "What was that for?"
"The puppy eyes." I remarked snidely, and Persi shot me a glare before she huffed.
"On a more serious note though, are you going to wear your armor to the senate?" Hazel asked, and Persi nodded. "Seeing as I have no bedsheets to wrap myself in, nor any Lora segmentata to be dressed in, I suppose I'm showing up in this."
"Hey! Togas aren't bedsheets!" Hazel complained slightly as she looked down at her attire, and I lightly chuckled. "But back to the topic, I don't think it's a…great idea. First off, the senate hates people who wear armor-the only exception are the Praetors, and even then they still dislike it. And secondly…well, there's been a rumour going around." She glanced around nervously, before she spoke.
"There's been a rumor that Octavian consulted the gods…and they came to some pretty shocking conclusions." Hazel said, swallowing nervously, before she stopped us and whispered, "they think you're Greeks."
"H-how did they figure it out already?" I whispered to Persi, and Hazel's eyes widened. "W-wait. You're…you're actually Greeks?" She glanced around, fists clenched, nervousness shining through her features, before she resumed. "You know…Greeks aren't exactly welcome in Rome. Us romans…No, most romans have a vendetta against Greeks. If you're actually Greeks…I know that you, Persi, are my friend, and Drew is your l-love interest, and I don't want to come off as rude, but…you should get the hell out of doge. I'm scared you'll get hurt."
"Don't worry, Haze," Persi said, gently steering us along, "we'll be fine. Besides, I have a letter of recommendation from my patrons-it should be enough to convince them we aren't our enemies. Plus, I think there's a bigger picture that I'm supposed to fit into here. My patrons just won't tell me what the bigger picture is."
Hazel sighed, before she bent down to ich up something golden. "I understand Persi-"
"Did it happen again?" Persi asked as she glanced at Hazel's hand. "Y-yes." Hazel said nervously, and I felt a hint of fear from her. "What exactly happened?" I asked, and Persi shot me a look that said 'talk later'.
Hazel stuffed the golden object into her pocket, before we continued in silence. Some legionaries who walked past us glanced fearfully at Persi, muttering something about 'Argentum Mors'. Hazel looked at them worryingly, but she didn't say anything.
Soon, we arrived at the entrance to a city- New Rome, as Hazel introduced it.
"Holy smokes!" Persi exclaimed as she looked at the massive city. "This is-wow! And you're saying that those who live here are all demigods?"
"Yeah-actually, not really," Hazel said. "Most people in New Rome are not full-blooded demigods. In fact, most are actually descended from demigods, and are more mortal than anything. Most don't even have ADHD or dyslexia. Those people are called legacies."
"Oh wow," Persi said, "so this place takes care of demigod descendants too." She sighed, before muttering, "why doesn't camp half blood have the same thing?"
"Camp half blood…the one you said you were gonna take me to?" Hazel asked, confused.
"Yeah, but…I guess you don't need to. It's probably the best you came here, actually, since you're a Roman…and well, Romans and Greeks don't mix."
Hazel looked at Persi for a bit, before she focused back on the road. "Come on, let's go. Also, take out your weapons-terminus doesn't like them."
"Termi-what?" Persi questioned as she stepped over the boundary line. Immediately, a statue flashed into existence next to her. "Hey, Graecus, no weapons in the city limits!"
"What sort of stupid rule is that?"
"Stupid? You dare offend the city rules? Or are you here to unleash bloodshed and murder on the citizens of Rome!" Terminus roared.
"Oh come on, you panini head. If I were to murder everybody, there'd be a trail of blood and bodies behind me now. Do you see any?" Persi asked, and the statue actually turned to look behind her.
"No, but that doesn't mean you can't start killing within the city! Now, hand over your weapons, you Graecus, or face my wrath! My hands are strangling you! Choke! Give up!"
Persi stared at the statue in amusement. "Hazel, your statue is broken."
"Terminus is like that." Hazel replied, and Persi looked at the moving statue. "So…you're telling me this statue is actually a living person, and not some automaton."
"Automaton!? Look here, you puny mortal. I am a god, G-O-D, GOD. Now, hand over your weapons before I hit you so hard you'll be sent flying into tartarus." Terminus huffed, and then the statue wheeled onto me. "You too, other Graecus, surrender your weapons."
"Look, Termin-whatever, new Rome border god, I'm happy to do that, but where do I put them? For all I know you're just gonna steal them." Persi said.
"It's TERMINUS! God, Hazel Levesque, why did you bring these two clueless idiots into Rome?"
"The senate asked them to come." Hazel shrugged, before she turned to us. "Relax, just place your weapons on the tray. They'll return to you once you're out of the city limits."
"What tr-oh." I scratched the back of my neck, feeling slightly foolish as I pulled Riptide out of my pocket and placed it on the tray. "The knife too, little lady." Terminus grumbled as I unsheathed the throwing knife Persi gave me, and placed it on the silver tray that was hovering in midair.
"Now, the annoying girl dressed in silver, hand over your weapons." Persi looked uncertain. "Look, I'm not saying I wanna go against your words-you are a god after all-but I really just don't feel safe. Plus, these are the gifts my patrons gave me, and I really do not wish to lose them, nor am I comfortable with them being tampered with. If you want, I can swear an oath on the Styx to not harm any citizens inside new Rome."
"What is Styx?" Hazel wondered, while terminus rocked back and forth, presumably thinking.
"The Styx is a river in the underworld, the river of oaths, among other things. If anyone swears an oath on the Styx, they can be smited by the river goddess if they break it. And if you've done nothing wrong but gets accused of a crime, you can swear on the Styx to prove your innocence. If you have indeed done something wrong, you can't swear the oath, or you get smited after swearing it." Persi replied, and Terminus swiveled to face her.
"Smited, you say? Well, in that case, swear an oath to not harm anyone in the city, and I'll let you pass."
"I, Persis Jackson, swear on the Styx to not harm any persons within the city limits unless provoked." Persis said, and thunder rumbled, sealing the deal. Hazel glanced around, looking for the source, while some other passer-bys looked around in concern.
"Right then. You may enter the city limits. Enjoy your stay." Terminus said, before disappearing in a flash.
"Um…okay, Persi, Drew, follow me. We're probably overdue for the senate meeting." Hazel said, and we followed her in silence down the streets of new Rome towards a domed building.
After a few moments, we arrived at the entrance of the senate house. "Before you go in, Persi…I know you are sometimes impatient and you can get angry easily. Please, don't explode inside the senate. You'll just make life harder for yourself and Drew."
"Okay, Haze, I'll try my best." She smiled a bit, and Hazel entered the senate building.
Immediately, we were greeted with fierce bickering from two opposing sides of the senate. On one side, the seated people all wore white togas with either red or purple lining. On the other, colourful togas greeted our eyes like a patchwork of paint. In the center, seated at a separate platform, Two figures sat in silence, observing the bickering mass. One of them, a girl with a dark complex and braided hair, sat next to an empty chair, wearing an ornate set of bronze armor and a purple cloak. In front of her, on a lower level, a guy dressed in a white toga with golden lining sat lazily, observing the crowd of bickering people.
The girl sitting atop the platform was the first to notice us. I saw her eyes pass over me and Hazel, before her eyes widened at the sight of Persi. I saw her stand up and raise up a hand, and the bickering crowd quickly quietened down.
"Legionnaire Hazel Levesque, I see you have brought our two…guests into the senate house. You may be seated." The girl announced, and Hazel bowed slightly before hurrying over to the colourful side.
"Well," the girl continued after Hazel took her seat, "I would like to know who our two guests are. I understand you both come from…a different place, and your Patron has already explained this to us. However, I would wish to know you both better, and understand your purpose to visit New Rome."
Persi stepped forwards, and a ripple of muttering broke out within the crowd. I could fairly hear the words 'Mors' and 'Argentum', the words that the legionnaires we passed previously spoke. I wondered what all that was about.
"Are you all finished?" Persi asked, and the crowd fell silent once more. I saw the girl on the platform raise an eyebrow, and the dude in the white-golden toga sit up straighter. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Hazel frown.
"Thank you." Persi said, before taking a breath. "Senators, I am Persis Jackson, daughter of Poseidon. And besides me, is Drew Tanaka, Daughter of Aphrodite."
"Why do you use Greek names for the gods?" A Senator asked, and Persi looked at him. "That, Senator, is because the rumours about us that we've been let on-" a wave of whispering broke out again "-are true." A flurry of comments and hushed voices broke out once again, and Persi patiently waited for them to shut up.
"If the rumours are true, you Graecus aren't allowed in here! SCRAM before we kill you!" A Senator roared, and some within the colourful stands whooped and cheered in agreement. "Why did you introduce us as Greeks, you idiot! Look what you've landed us in!" I whispered furiously. "Oh, but I'm your idiot, aren't I? Persi whispered back, gashing my to huff and blush. "Not here! Answer them first!"
"Of course. I introduced us as Greeks for a reason, which should be apparent…about…now." Persi said, and suddenly three bright flashes lit the senate house. The crowds fell silent, before hushed voices once again broke out.
"Lady Diana, Lady Venus, Lord Neptune. Welcome to New Rome, may I inquire of your reasons for this visit?" The robed girl said, as some senators nodded their heads in acknowledgment of the gods that strode past us.
"Of course, my dear girl." I could hear Diana say, as Neptune strode up behind us and placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder. "We are here today, to help explain the existence of these two." She continued, waving a hand over us two.
"Of course, it is best that they explain themselves. We are simply here to help out. Persi?" Diana said, and Persi spoke up.
"Hello, senators. So, I'd like to cut to the chase-we are Greek, and we come from a different place. A camp for Greek demigods, much like yours." A flurry of voices broke out, and the robed girl raised a hand to calm the senate. When it didn't work, Persi sighed, before her Valkyrie sword shimmered into existence. She then turned the tip to face the ground, before stabbing it into the ground. A small tremor shook the building, and effectively shut the senators up.
"Thank you. Now, I hope to get through this without interruptions." Persi continued. "Yes, the Greeks exist. We are concrete proof of that. And no, we are not here to wage war on Rome. In fact, we wish to reconcile with all of you, to prevent further conflict from both camps. Also, there is another reason for our visit, however I believe it to be more appropriate for my Patron to handle this part. Lady Diana, if you will?"
"Thank you, Persi," the goddess began, and the few hushed voices in the senate fell silent. "As you all have predicted, when one threat falls, another one rises. This time, it is no different. An ancient enemy stirs, and we must act fast to stop it."
"Lady Diana, sorry to interrupt, but is the disappearance of our Praetor, Jason, related to this?" One of the dudes in the coloured stands spoke up. "Yes, it is." Diana replied, and hushed voices broke out once more.
So the other seat probably belonged to him, I thought as I looked at the empty chair, before my eyes landed on the girl in armor and a purple robe. She looks kinda nice, I thought as I stared at her, before Inwas jolted out of my thoughts by a yell.
"Silence!" The guy in the white-golden toga yelled, and the senate quietened down. Diana nodded, before continuing. "Some here, such as your augury, have already foreseen this. The prophecy of seven is about to begin, and lord Jupiter has ordered all gods to remain in Olympus. However, this is not the reason why we visit. Weeks earlier, the Queen of gods, Lady Hera, has been captured. However, all contact with her was lost just days prior. As such, it is now my duty to explain a plan of hers."
Hushed voices broke out again-gods, the Roman senate was really not a place for me, nor Persi, as I could see her grumbling in frustration. "Lady Hera, prior to her disappearance, enacted a plan to unite both Greek and Roman demigods together. These two," Diana said, waving a hand over me and Persi, "are here as a result of it. They are here to repair and strengthen the bonds between the two camps, and potentially become permanent residents here. At least, I'm sure my champion is willing to do so." Diana shot Persi a smile, in which she returned.
"Now, I have explained Lady Hera's plans. Treat these two like any other recruit-their previous camp has treated them unfairly. Give them a chance to start a new life amongst you." Diana then checked her watch-how it got there, I didn't know. She didn't show up with it when she flashed in. "Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll be leaving in just a moment. Direct your questions to Persi once you're done bickering." Diana said with slight distaste, before she nodded to Venus and Neptune.
"Right-before we go, I'd like to clarify something." Neptune stepped forwards, with his hand on Persi's shoulder. "Should you wrong my daughter, you shall be answering to the House of Neptune and Atlantis, where my Greek counterpart resides. Treat her fairly, and do not treat this as an Idle threat. She is the saviour of Olympus, slayer of the titans Saturn and Saturnus, retriever of the Master bolt, retriever of the Golden Fleece, twice slayer of the minotaur, slayer of the hydra, and many more titles and achievements. If you think she does not deserve your respect, think again."
A hushed silence fell over the senate, while Persi was blushing and taking great interest in her boots as Neptune finished up his little speech.
Venus then moved next to me, before wrapping a hand around my shoulder and hugging me slightly. "And this is my daughter, Drew Tanaka. If you wrong her or her girlfriend, I will personally ensure you suffer during your lifetime. The love between them is true and pure, and I will not stand to see this perfect match broken by any of you." She then whispered into my ear, "treat Persi well. She genuinely loves you, and she's a good girl at heart." Before planting a kiss to my cheek and dissipating.
Looking over to Persi, I noticed that Neptune was also talking to her, before he hugged her tightly and walked over to me. "Though I am often cited as dense, I can sense something between you and my daughter," he said gruffly. "Don't wrong her or break her trust like that Athena spawn, yes?" Without waiting for my response, he dissipated into a fine sea breeze.
"What did my dad say?" Persi asked as the senate erupted into chaos. "Oh, nothing, just the father-girlfriend talk about relationships and some death threats." I joked.
Persi smiled knowingly, as the senators began standing and yelling out their questions.
Oh boy, this was gonna take a while.

A/N: and the 10th chapter is finished.
Now, I know that this chapter may be a bit jumbled, and the Romans probably have a more muted reaction than you expect. Honestly though, I'm not really willing to rewrite those parts, since I know some of you just like romance and action. Of course, I plan to have some (disgusting) political stuff in later chapters, but let's not spoil too much for now, eh?
Anyway, I'm gonna be attending an event soon, so I'll try and start the next chapter as soon as possible (probably tomorrow). See you next chapter!
