Chapter 1: Ending and Beginning
Harry Potter stood in the ruins of Hogwarts, the once-great wizarding school reduced to rubble by the final battle against Voldemort. It had been two years since that fateful day, and Harry had spent much of that time rebuilding the magical community and helping to heal the wounds left by the war. It had been a difficult task, but Harry was finally starting to see some progress. The wizarding world was slowly returning to a sense of normalcy, and Harry was beginning to feel like he could finally relax.
But then everything changed.
It started with a few news reports, small rumors of something happening in the muggle world. Harry didn't pay much attention at first, but as the reports became more frequent, he started to realize that something big was happening. It wasn't until the government made an official announcement that Harry fully understood the gravity of the situation.
The muggles had discovered the existence of magic and wizards.
The news sent shockwaves through the wizarding world. Many were afraid of what would happen if the muggles learned too much, while others believed that it was time for the two worlds to finally come together. But before any sort of resolution could be reached, the muggles declared war.
At first, the wizarding world tried to stay out of it, but it quickly became apparent that they were not immune to the destruction that was wrought by the muggle's weapons. As the war escalated, Harry found himself leading the charge to protect the magical community. He fought tirelessly, using all of the skills he had honed during the war against Voldemort.
But in the end, it was all for naught. The muggles had developed a new weapon, one that was more powerful than anything the wizarding world had ever seen. A nuclear bomb.
The explosion was blinding, and Harry felt his body being ripped apart by the force of the blast. But just as he thought he was going to die, he was transported away. He found himself standing in the middle of a deserted street, surrounded by crumbling buildings and abandoned cars.
"Welcome to the World of the Division," a voice said from behind him.
Harry spun around, his wand at the ready, but he saw no one. He lowered his wand and looked around again. He was alone.
"Who's there?" he called out.
"Death," the voice said again.
Harry turned around once more, and this time he saw a figure standing at the end of the street. It was a tall, hooded figure, and Harry couldn't make out any details of its face.
"Death?" Harry repeated, confused.
"Yes, Harry Potter. I have brought you here for a purpose. You are needed."
"Needed for what?" Harry asked.
"To help save this world," Death replied. "But first, you must understand what has happened."
And with that, Death began to explain everything to Harry. He told him about the Green Poison outbreak that had devastated the world, about The Division and their fight to restore order. And he told Harry about The Vanguard, the secret English branch of The Division that reported directly to the Queen.
"Your skills will be needed here, Harry Potter," Death said when he had finished. "You are a fighter, a leader. And this world needs both."
"What do you want me to do?" Harry asked.
"Join The Vanguard," Death replied. "Help them in their fight. And maybe, just maybe, you can help to save this world."
Harry looked around at the desolate streets, at the crumbling buildings and the overgrown plants. He knew that this was a world that needed saving. And he knew that he was the one who could do it.
"Okay," he said, turning to face Death once more. "I'll do it."
