WARNING! This story contains A LOT of Janner x Sara fluff (because who WOULDN'T want some?)

Janner walked through the halls of Castle Rysen, heading to Sara's room. Since Kal was busy with meetings and such, Janner decided that would be a good time for the couple to go explore. They had been wanting to explore, or more like take a walk through the Annieran forest that lie just west of the castle, but they had wanted to do it without Kal. So, right now, since it was sunny out, seemed like the perfect time.

He reached her door and knocked on it. It opened within a couple of seconds.

"Hey Janner, what's up?" Sara asked.

"Kal's busy right now with meetings that are probably gonna go on all day." Janner said. "Since he's busy, you have any plans for today?"

Sara smiled, then kissed Janner on the cheek. "I do now."

Janner grinned as he took her hand and led her to the stable.

Once the couple had their horses ready and saddled, they had a race to the forest. It wasn't far from the castle, but Janner let Sara win.

Once they reached the forest, they tied their horses to a nearby tree, then set off on foot into the woods. The trees were blooming, giving the forest a calm, peaceful mood.

"This place is beautiful..." Sara thought aloud.

"Just like you." Janner replied.

Sara blushed, then moved deeper into the forest.

Janner followed her, noting how the trees seemed to sway in rhythm to the slight wind.

"Janner! Look!"

Janner followed where Sara was pointing, and saw one of the biggest trees he had ever seen.

"With how old it looks, I wonder if it survived when Gnag took over." Janner said.

Sara shrugged. "Well, it looks pretty old, so it must've."

Janner looked over the tree, then spotted something. "Hmm..."

"What is it?" Sara asked.

"There seems to be some markings on it."

Sara moved over to him. "I don't see them."

Janner took her hand, and slowly guided it over the markings. "See?"

Sara blushed at how close they were. "Yeah, I feel them now."

Janner blushed in turn, then let go of her hand. "I wonder how long they've been there."

"Maybe since the second Epoch?"

"Now that's old." Janner chuckled. "That would be amazing! Just think, this world has very few things from that back far. The oldest things I can think of are Leeli's whistleharp and my First Book."

Sara shrugged. "Still, those are pretty old."

"Yeah. I wonder if there are any other markings on the tree. It's really tall, and the branches are thick." Janner pointed at some of the low ones. "I wonder if we could climb it."

Sara reached for a branch, and pulled on it to test its strength. It wouldn't budge.

"Well, the branches seem really strong. And, there's many of them, very close together. So, we should be able to."

Janner reached for a branch, and used it to pull himself up onto it. "Even with my weight on it, it wont budge. It barely swayed while I was climbing on."

Sara nodded her head, and climbed onto the same branch as Janner's. It was a short branch, so they sat on it very close together.

"I can't see any markings on the tree." Sara said, trying not to blush at how close they were.

Janner squinted at the tree. "Neither can I."

"It kind of makes sense." Sara stated.

"How?" Janner was confused.

"Well, when these markings were made, the tree must've been really young. So, it wasn't as tall as it is now."

Janner nodded his head. "That makes sense now."

Sara then turned her attention away from the tree, and looked at the rest of the forest. The trees were budding and blossoming everywhere. Dragonflies zipped through the air. Birds sung their calls to their mates. It was breathtaking.

Janner took everything in too. "It's so amazing out here."

"Just like you." Sara smiled.

Janner smiled, then wrapped his arm around her. "I love you." He said quietly.

"I love you too." She replied just as softly.

She scooted closer to him, and looked at the forest.

It was breathtaking.
