"Welcome to the Florida 500," said Darell Cartrip, "Today looks like a great day for racing."
"And everyone's talking about the rookie Quicksilver," said Bob Cutlass, "He's even beaten Storm's record, and Cruz Ramirez as well."
Natilie Sertain then said, "Well, based on my data, Quicksilver should be 99.3% unstoppable. But maybe, Cruz will pull off an amazing stunt like she did last year."
Soon, the group arrived in Florida, and Quicksilver was showing off like Lightning would in his rookie years, only he was more with the flare.
Just then, Rey came up to Jackson.
"Hey Jackson," he said, "Good luck to you."
"Thanks Rey," said Storm, "I suppose we should get to our pit."
"About that," said Rey.
Storm turned, and said, "What?"
"... I'm not your crew chief."
"What?! But, but,..."
"They're using the files with Mr. Biggz against me. They threatened to reveal them about you if I left them. I'm sorry."
Jackson looked at Rey, as he left.
Originally, Jackson Storm was a cyber-sportsman, playing racing video games. His biggest achievement was winning money from a tournament organised by a businessman by the name of ; a businessman who organised a cyber-sport tournament, which involves racing games. He organised this to find a worthy racer for his team. It was Jackson Storm. He asked a pickup named Ray Reverham (A.K.A Chief) to find and engage him to the real sport.
In the beginning, Storm didn't want to go anywhere; he said he earned enough money from a cyber-sport, especially from that tournament, and he doesn't want to change anything. He likes freedom. But this situation wasn't easy. If Storm disagrees - then he must return all the money he won from the tournament back to . Biggz wanted to make Jackson Storm "the face of video-games" and hire him for his team. But there was a thing: if Storm won't accept his offer of being a racer - then he wouldn't be involved in video-gaming either. Storm accepted the offer, but his cockiness was hard to deal with.
Jackson Storm started to train in a special racing centre with other next-gen racers, but his cockiness was a problem. He bullied other members, challenging them in many ways, and overall was some kind of a walking problem. But a last straw was a situation with Tim Balony and Jackson Storm. Storm challenged Balony in a race through the racing simulators, and Balony has won. But Storm didn't accept his loss and raged right away. He started to "make donuts" and created a huge cloud of tyre smoke, triggering the fire alarm.
Soon enough, heard about all this, deciding to fire Jackson Storm from his team. But Chief didn't want him to fire Storm, and left with him. Chief saw some kind of potential in Jackson Storm. Luckily enough - Storm found a new team right away. IGNTR offered him a place in their team, both Storm and Chief accepting it. The trainer from the racing centre contacted IGNTR and told them about Storm and his skills.
Jackson was devastated that his friend wouldn't be with him at all in the race.
However, a honk was heard behind him, and Storm saw some pitties with Smokey behind him, followed by Tex Dinoco.
"Mr. Dinoco?"
"Jackson Storm, I saw what that Quicksilver did to you, and while you were foolish, he was wrong to be rude like that. So, I offer you a pit crew I managed to find."
Jackson then said, "Thank you Tex."
"Well," said Smokey, "What are you waiting for kid? Get on out there."
Soon, the race was going under way, with Cruz and Storm in last place.
"Alright Jackson," said Smokey, "Remember your training."
"Got it," said Storm.
"You okay Cruz?" asked Lightning.
"Yeah, I'm fine," said Cruz.
The green flag then waved, and the two picked up speed, and they slowly made their way up the pack. Cruz was doing fine, and Jackson was nervous.
"You okay kid?" asked Smokey.
"It's just... I never really imagined myself in a position like this," he said.
"You mean being slower than someone naturally?"
"Yeah, I... I was always the best, and Cruz she... she opened my eyes."
"Remember, you don't have to be fast, you gotta be smart. Now, sneak through the window."
"Sneak through the window?" asked Storm, and then, he got the idea.
He went between two cars, and quickly made his way, up and down, weaving around the track.
Soon, they reached lap 364, and Jackson was in 3rd, Cruz in 2nd, and Quicksilver in 1st.
"Not bad kid," said Smokey, "Now, be sure to use drafting if you wanna get ahead of Quicksilver."
Jackson then went ahead a bit, but Quicksilver had a plan.
"And it should happen right... now."
Curz's tires then blew, and she swerved into the outfield, and crashed into the wall, taking her out of the race.
"CRUZ!" yelled Storm and Lightning.
Quicksilver laughed, and Storm heard him say, "That's what she gets for trying to pass me. Good thing I messed with her tires before the race."
Jackson was now furious. He then chased Quicksilver down, and down.
Soon, after a pit stop, Storm was off, and then, Quicksilver cut him off.
"Just admit it, you're a loser, just like that Ramirez!"
Jackson grew angry, and decided to let loose, until Smokey said, "No, wait for the final laps. Then, surprise him."
Quicksilver then picked up speed, and Jackson slowly followed behind him, drafting him.
Soon, they reached lap 495, and there were five laps left.
Jackson then started to pass Quicksilver, only to get bumped.
"Ha, good thing I'm too quick to be seen," he said.
But Jackson was now passing him, driving backwards!
"WHAT!?"
"WOAH!" cried Mater, "GET 'ER DONE!"
Jackson winked, and turned around, going forward now.
"Nice job Mater," said Lightning, "You really taught him well."
"Well, worked for you," said Mater, "Why not him?"
"What a move by Storm, he's taken the lead!" said Bob
Quicksilver however, had a trick up his fender. He had mechanics that will make it look like he's out of control, when he's not.
"Oh no! Quicksilver is loose!" said Bob.
Quicksilver then slammed Jackson into the outfield, and he started to get out of control.
"Jackson Storm is out of control!" said Darell.
"Turn right to go left!" echoed Cruz's words in Storm's head.
He then shifted his weight, and turned to the left a bit, and soon, he was under control, drifting along the dirt.
He then surprised Quicksilver, and over took him.
The checkered flag was up, and Quicksilver ran along side Jackson, and the two were bumper to bumper, crossed the finish line at high speeds!
"IT'S TOO CLOSE TO CALL!" said Bob.
"DID YOU SEE THAT!?" asked Darell, "NOTHING WAS THAT CLOSE SINCE THAT THREE WAY TIE BETWEEN MCQUEEN, CHICK, AND THE KING!"
"Let's get a replay."
Soon, the screens were showing the replay in slow motion, and Jackson was nervous, while Quicksilver smirked smugly.
However, the footage showed Jackson crossing first, just by an inch.
"And after officials have discussed it, the winner, is Jackson Storm!"
"I won. I WON! YES!"
"NO!" yelled Quicksilver, who rammed into Jackson, yelling, "YOU DON'T DESERVE THAT! I WON! THAT RACE WAS FIXED FOR RATINGS! YOU KNOW I CAN BEAT YOU! I CAN BEAT ANYONE, ANYWHERE!"
However, Lightning called out, "Hey, Quicksilver!"
Quicksilver turned, screaming, "WHAT!?"
"The cameras love you."
Quicksilver looked up, to see that his attack on Storm was on replay, and everyone booing at him.
"Hey, you said you could beat anyone, anywhere?" asked Storm, "I think I got someone you'll love."
"Um, actually, I need to."
"Oh, hear that? He's chicken," said Storm, before bocking like a chicken.
"I'M NO CHICKEN! LET ME AT THIS RACER!"
Later...
"LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Right now, Quicksilver was pinned up at Thunder Hollow, with Miss. Fritter.
"WHERE YOU GOING SWEETIE!?" asked Miss. Fritter, "WE AIN'T DONE YET! LET ME AT THAT NEW PAINT!"
Everyone laughed at the sight, and Lightning looked at Storm, saying, "Hey, thanks for winning Storm."
"Yeah," said Storm, "And... I'm sorry. For everything. From your crash, to the taunting, and ramming Cruz. Without this trip, I don't think I could have been the racer I am now."
"Well, Cruz is out of the season because of her crash, but she'll be ready next season. So, you still need a pit crew?"
"...Y-You mean it?" asked Storm.
"For how you've grown, you should be proud."
After Quicksilver was taken to the hospital, Jackson was met with a familiar face he never thought he would see again.
"M-Mom?"
"Hey dear," she said, "It's been a while."
Jackson then broke down crying, and said, "I... I'm so... sorry! I... I didn't mean anything! I was just... frustrated, and-"
Jackson was cut off by his mother rolling along side him and rubbing him.
"It's alright dear," she said, "It was in the past. And... I should have been more supportive to your dream."
Jackson then dried his tears, and smiled.
After that, he was a better racer, and even won a lot of races fairly, and visited Cruz as she slowly recovered from her crash. His mother supported him well, and Jackson helped pay for her retirement plans when they came.
As for Quicksilver and IGTNR, the former was found cheating by tampering with fuel of competitors, and their tires, thanks to the recording Storm secretly made during the race. Quicksilver is now forever banned from any races, and is forced to community service. Lightning even let them use Bessie for his services.
As for IGTNR, it's files for an illegal fuel, Nitromethane, were leaked by Rey and Gale, and the company started to shut down. But, the files with Mr. Biggz were leaked, but Storm owned up to them himself before they were shown.
And because of him owning up to it, he gained a large respect, despite some criticism.
Jackson also does dirt track racing when he's on the off season. He uses his skills he learned from his new friends, and is even dating Cruz now.
And now, Jackson is as happy as ever. He has friends, family, and a someone special he can share his life with. I feel this is a good place to say
The End.
