The icy mountains were just as frigid and treacherous as we had anticipated. Beth and I had made sure to bundle up in layers upon layers of warm clothing, but we could still feel the icy winds piercing through our skin. Our breaths formed small clouds in the air, and our steps left deep imprints in the snow.
As we trudged through the snow, our eyes scanned the surroundings for any signs of danger or adventure. And it wasn't long before we found what we were looking for. A strange figure made of ice had emerged from the ground ahead of us.
It was unlike anything we had ever seen before. The creature had a giant white beard and a long blue nose. This monster was also known as the Ice Thing "What are you two idiots doing here in my domain? Ah Geez I don't need more weirdos so what do you two bozo want from me?" Beth and I exchanged nervous glances as we realized we were face-to-face with the Ice Thing. But Finn's voice inside the Finn Sword reassured us as he slowly appeared, "Don't worry, guys! I've faced the Ice King before, and I've got some tips for dealing with ice creatures like this, similar to him yeah gunter... what a mess but remember to stay cool and keep your wits about you!"
Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward and tried to reason with the Ice Thing. "We mean no harm, sir. We're just passing through on an adventure. How about we resolve this useless problem without a fight dude?"
The Ice Thing snorted in response. "Adventure? Peace? Pfft, you kids and your silly games. If you want to pass through here, you'll have to prove your worth. I challenge you to a snowball fight!"
Beth and I looked at each other in confusion, but Finn's voice echoed in our heads again. "Trust me on this one, guys. Ice creatures love a good snowball fight. Just make sure you aim for their weak spots!"
And with that, we took up the challenge and engaged in a fierce snowball battle with the Ice Thing. We dodged and weaved through the flurry of snow, taking aim at the Ice Thing's weak spots just as Finn had advised. And in the end, we emerged victorious.
The Ice Thing grumbled in defeat but ultimately respected us for our skills. "Alright, alright. You may pass through, but watch your step. The mountains can be treacherous. I'll be back for you two."
As we continued on our adventure, we couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. And Finn's voice inside the Finn Sword chuckled along with us. "Looks like you guys passed the test with flying colors! Now let's keep going and see what other crazy challenges we can overcome!" As me and Beth continued to walk through the icy valley we had a hard time seeing the horizon "Hey Beth I can see a cage" Beth nodded but she had a hard time seeing what I was talking about. "Yeah, maybe it's nothing," I said skeptically. The Ice Thing, with his weird beard, flew towards us and shouted, "You fool! It's nothing, just snow! How about you explore? There's a lot of treasure to be found around my land."
As someone who loves collecting stuff, I couldn't resist the idea of treasure, but I also had a bad feeling. Beth and Finn looked worried and suspicious.
Finn's voice in the Finn Sword chimed in, "Guys, I don't like the sound of this. The Ice Thing could be setting us up for something. Maybe we should be cautious and keep our guard up."
I nodded in agreement with Finn's advice, and Beth spoke up. "I think Finn's right. We should be careful and make sure this isn't some kind of trap."
The Ice Thing looked annoyed at our hesitation. "Come on, don't be such scaredy-cats! I promise there's treasure to be found, and it's not like I'll be following you or anything. Now, it's time for me to leave." I simply nodded in agreement, and the Ice Thing left once and for all. But we knew we had to be careful. We continued to search the area, and soon enough, we stumbled upon an old, rusty chest buried in the snow. Excitement pulsed through me as I reached out to open it, but Finn's voice in the Finn Sword interrupted my thoughts. "Hold on a minute. Let's make sure it's safe first. Who knows what kind of booby traps or curses could be guarding this treasure."
Beth nodded in agreement, and we carefully inspected the chest for any signs of danger. But to our surprise, it was completely safe. And inside, we found a collection of ancient maps, coins, and other relics from the past.
As we marveled at our newfound treasures, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of appreciation for the past. It was like we had unearthed a small piece of history, and it was all thanks to our adventurous spirit and willingness to take risks.
But at the same time, I knew we had to be careful with what we had found. These artifacts were valuable not just in terms of monetary worth, but also in terms of historical significance. And I didn't want to be the one responsible for losing or damaging them.
With that in mind, we carefully packed up the treasure and continued on our journey through the icy mountains. We may have been cold, tired, and unsure of what lay ahead, but we were also filled with a sense of wonder and excitement at the possibilities that lay before us continuing our way around the snow.
we cautiously began our search for treasure, Finn suddenly exclaimed, "Whoa, check this out!" He pointed to a telescope that looked like it had been there for a while. "Wait a minute, I can see the letters 'MA'?"
Beth gasped. "That looks like an ancient artifact! Do you think it's from the time of the Mushroom War?"
Finn Sword chimed in, "I'm not sure, but the only thing that comes to mind for 'MA' is Marceline. But how could it be possible?"
My mind was racing as I tried to make sense of it all. "Marceline? The Vampire Queen? But that was over a thousand years ago. How could this telescope have survived all this time? Maybe it's also recent.." And with that we were left with questions and wonders Finn. Well the Finn Sword was the most shocked of us. Like seeing an element of the past, something or someone he knew. As we contemplated the origin of the telescope, I suggested, "How about Carlos? He seemed to have some knowledge and connection to the old days. Maybe he could help us confirm if this really belongs to Marceline." Finn looked at me curiously through the blue gem, while Beth appeared more skeptical, given Carlos's odd behavior in the past. Nevertheless, Finn spoke up, "I think it's worth a shot. Let's go see him."
Moments later, Carlos appeared before us, much to Beth's surprise. "Ho-How Carlos?" she stuttered. Carlos, however, cut her off and asked for the telescope. Feeling uneasy, I handed it over to him. He took out a device to analyze the letters and then confirmed, "Yes, this one does belong to the Vampire Queen. She's a bit of a weirdo, though. Loneliness can make anyone crazy, right? But at least she's not like those weird cultists."
Carlos then laughed heartily and said, "If you two need to sell me that sword later, I'm free!" Beth sighed and muttered, "Yeah, sure, whatever." And with that, the mysterious merchant vanished, leaving us to ponder over our findings. After the magical merchant disappeared, we suddenly heard a scream and laugh that echoed through the Icy Valley. I turned to Beth and Finn, "Let's go to the source of the sound." Beth hesitated, "Are you sure this isn't a trap?" Finn quickly responded, "Someone might be in danger. We have to see what it is. It could be someone dying." I nodded in agreement, "Exactly. Let's go now." Beth reluctantly followed us as we made our way towards the sound.
As we approached the source of the noise, we were surprised to find ourselves back at the same spot where we had been earlier. To our astonishment, the pile of snow we had seen before turned out to be a cage, with someone trapped inside. It was evident that the Ice thing had been lying to us all along. Beth pointed at the person inside the cage and exclaimed, "Red boots? Base? Black hair? Is this who I think it is?" Finn's voice came from the blue gem in the middle of my sword, demanding to see who was in the cage. I raised my sword to show Finn, who gasped in shock, "It's Marceline!"
The Ice thing's laughter echoed through the snow and storm as it mocked us, "Ah man, you two finally found out the truth. Geez, took you like, I don't know, a couple of hours?" We were all furious, but I knew that violence wasn't always the answer. "Listen," I said, addressing the Ice thing, "why did you capture her? Look at her, she's all beaten up and can't even speak with this chiffon in her mouth." Beth chimed in, "Yeah, man, why?" As we spoke, I noticed that the Ice thing had lost one of its eyes or perhaps the red gem on its head made it look a bit psychotic.
The Ice thing explained, "She is wandering around searching for something, and like her, you two are about to be frozen." Finn whispered to Beth, "You distract the Ice thing. We need to free Marcy." Beth hesitated but eventually agreed and began to dance and mock the Ice thing. "Yeah, look at me dancing! I'm good, right?" The Ice thing laughed, "That's one amazing dance! Almost enough to melt my cold heart."
I and Finn's sword rushed towards the cage and easily broke the cage made of snow, freeing Marceline. The tall vampire looked down at me, towering over me clearly. She was angry, probably because she had been imprisoned, but her seemingly normal voice was enough to reassure me. "Hey, thanks dude. How about we kick the Ice thing's butt?" For some reason, Marceline couldn't stop staring at Finn's sword. "Heck yeah!" Hearing Marceline's voice, the Ice thing turned toward us, no longer distracted.
Marceline quickly grabbed her old Axe-Base from her back, and Beth ran toward us. The three of us and the fourth, Finn, were united. Finn spoke up, "Marcy?" Marceline's tough look softened after hearing his familiar voice, "Finn?" The Ice thing was confused, "Finn? Isn't this dude dead?"
I grew tired of this conversation. We had to either run or fight this thing. "No time for a reunion, guys. We have this weirdo on our way." Beth and Marceline nodded in agreement with me. We had to win this battle.
