I know I've not written for a long time. I got a big case of writer's block and thought it would be good to have a break. However, recently I've started reading GG fanfic again and it's inspired me again. I know I've done quite a few stories like this but I promise you that I have lots of new ideas for it that I haven't done before so I really hope you enjoy it and read, follow, fave, review, etc. :)

So it's another twin story (I know, but I promise you I have new ideas! :P) and Lorelai had two girls instead of just Rory. Juliet Gilmore is a lot like Rory and Lorelai in many ways but also different in others. This begins during the episode where Jess arrives in Stars Hollow. Some storylines will follow the show but a lot won't. I really hope you enjoy! :)

Chapter 1

Juliet stepped out onto the porch from their kitchen after her mom had stormed back into the house right past her. "Ok so I get the angsty stuff. You were uprooted and sent here to a town you don't know and with people who you don't know. You're made to socialise with people you don't know on your first night. But did you really have to talk to my mom like that?" She frowned at Jess.

"She was sticking her nose into something that wasn't her business. As you are now as well." Jess said.

"Yeah then why didn't you bail?" Juliet said.

"What?"

"You had your chance in our room to go out the window and you didn't so...why didn't you?" She shrugged.

"You told me not to." Jess said.

"True but I don't take you as someone who follows what people tell you. And especially from, as you put it, people who are sticking their nose into something that's not their business."

"Well maybe I will bail then."

"Don't let me stop you." Juliet challenged him.

"I won't." Jess bit back.

"Ok then." She said.

"Ok." He repeated. "You're crazy." He mumbled before turning round and walking off.

Juliet rolled her eyes. "At least I'm not rude to people who were just trying to be nice!" She called after him.

"Whatever." He snapped back.

Juliet sighed and shook her head. "Seriously?" She mumbled before heading back inside her house.

Juliet saw Rory exit a classroom with a small smile on her face. She ran up to her sister. "Hey!" She said.

"Oh hey." Rory smiled.

"So you did the interview with Max then?" She asked.

"Yep." She nodded.

"So..?"

"It was...nice." Rory admitted. "We both said things we wanted to say. I..I think it cleared the air a bit."

"That's good." Juliet smiled.

Rory sighed. "I really thought it was going to happen this time, you know. They seemed happy."

"I know." Juliet sighed. "Max was a good guy. It's a shame."

Rory glanced at him. "You wanted them to get married?"

"What? Of course I did!" Juliet said confused. "Why would you think I wouldn't?"

"Well...you just never seemed that into the idea." Rory said.

Juliet sighed. "I know. I guess...I just didn't want to get my hopes up. I liked Max. He was one of the few guys who took us as a package deal. Of course I hoped it would work out. But...I guess it just wasn't meant to be." She said.

"Yeah.."

"But I know you liked him. Are you ok?" She said softly.

"Yeah." Rory sighed. "I am now."

Juliet nodded. She glanced at her sister before smirking slightly. "Do you think mom and Luke have made up yet?"

Rory smirked. "Probably not. You know what mom's like. She's so stubborn."

"It's so stupid." Juliet rolled her eyes. "I mean, what Jess said to her was rude but she didn't have to lecture Luke about it. It's not really her decision how he decides to deal with Jess."

"I think she just wants to help."

"True but we both know she can be a bit full on sometimes."

Rory smiled slightly. "Yeah I guess."

"Anyway, I need to rush off. I need to meet Lane to talk about band stuff." Juliet said. "See you at home?"

"Yeah see you Jules." Rory smiled.

Jess was stood in the lake, not quite believing what had just happened. He never knew Luke had it in him.

"Wow, what did you do now?" A voice said.

Jess looked up and rolled his eyes. "Should have known it would be who you appeared at this time."

"Well would you prefer anyone else at this humiliating time?" Juliet smirked.

"I would prefer no one." Jess mumbled. "What are you even doing here? Don't you go to that posh school?"

"Wow you make me feel so high society." Juliet laughed. "I do go to Chilton but I came to meet Lane about band stuff."

"Huh." He said.

Juliet rolled her eyes and held her hand out. "Come on, there's no one at mine. You can dry out there."

Jess hesitated and narrowed his eyes. "What's the catch?"

"No catch."

"Huh."

"Seriously? Do you really think everyone's out to get you?" Juliet raised her eyebrows. "Fine, suit yourself." She said taking her hand back.

Jess smirked slightly and hopped back up onto the bridge. "Sorry."

"Sorry what?" She said.

"What?" He said confused.

"I just thought you said sorry. Didn't know you knew that word." Juliet joked.

Jess rolled his eyes. "You're really loving this, aren't you?"

"Well, I wouldn't say you don't deserve it." She shrugged. "But I am happy to help if you want. There's a shortcut back to mine and it would mean you not having to walk through town dripping wet." She said. "Your choice." She shrugged.

Jess looked at her for a moment. "Fine." He said.

"Follow me then." Juliet smirked.

Jess walked into Juliet's and Rory's room after Juliet had dried off his clothes and let him have a shower. "Hey.." He said seeing Juliet sat on her bed.

"Hey, still want to bail out the window?" Juliet joked.

Jess smirked slightly. "Think I'm good."

"Good." Juliet smirked.

"These yours?" He asked looking at the bookshelves.

"Some of them. Rory's more the reader though." She said. "You like to read?"

"Not much." He shrugged. He glanced over at her. "You more into music?" He asked.

"How d'ya know that?"

"You mentioned meeting Lane about band stuff."

"Oh, right, yeah, we've just started playing with a couple of guys. We enjoy it." Juliet smiled.

"Sounds cool." He nodded.

"Just don't let it get out. I don't mind people knowing about me being into music and stuff but Lane's mom is pretty strict. She doesn't know Lane is into that sort of music, let alone playing drums in a band." She said. "You have to swear you won't say anything."

Jess glanced at her and saw she had turned pretty serious. "Your secret's safe with me."

"Thanks." Juliet said letting out a breath. She watched as Jess walked round the room. "So what made Luke snap like that?"

"What makes you think it's my fault?" Jess said.

"Uh..because I've never seen Luke push someone in the lake before. I mean, sure, he's flipped out at Taylor and stuff but that's...Taylor." She shrugged. "So what did you do?"

"Nothing."

"Uh huh."

"I'm serious!" Jess exclaimed. "He thinks I did but I didn't."

"Ok, well what did he think you did?"

"Apparently Taylor told him I stole some money from a donation cup or something." He mumbled. He saw Juliet raising her eyebrows at him. "I didn't." He said. "I swear!" He said when Juliet still just looked at him.

"Ok." Juliet shrugged.

"What?"

"You said you didn't take it so I believe you."

"You do?" Jess said surprised.

"I mean, it would be kind of stupid to do." She said.

"Exactly." He grumbled.

Juliet watched him for a moment. "You know, I know my mum can be a bit full on sometimes..."

"A bit?" Jess said.

Juliet smirked slightly. "Ok, a lot, sometimes. But she only did it because she cares about Luke. Luke has been a constant in our life for so long now. He's really helped my mom out over the years. And us. She only did it to defend him and I think, in her eyes, she thought she was helping him. And you."

"Yeah, well she needs to butt out." He snapped.

"I agree."

Jess looked up in surprise again. "I thought you were mad that I spoke to your mom like that."

"I was." Juliet nodded. "I mean, I don't like that you spoke to her like that. You were rude. But...it was your first day here. It would be harsh to hold it against you all your life."

"All my life?" Jess raised his eyebrows. "I don't intend to be here very long."

"Huh."

"What?"

"Nothing." She shook her head.

"No, you obviously have something to say."

"Not really." Juliet said. "Just that...when Luke becomes part of your life, he kind of becomes a big part of your life. It's not that easy to get rid of him." She shrugged.

Jess glanced at her. "You get on with him?" He asked.

"He's always been there for me and Rory."

"Because he likes your mom." Jess said.

Juliet narrowed her eyes. "Ok so say what you want about this town or me or anything, but Luke's not like that. He does things because he cares. He's been more like a dad to us than our own dad."

"Whoa ok, sorry!" Jess said holding his hands up in mock surrender. "Didn't know you thought so much of him."

Juliet sighed. "Look, I get it ok? You feel like you were just sent here, no choice, nothing. But I think if you give Luke a chance, he might just surprise you."

"I doubt it." He said. He saw Juliet about to say something. "But...we'll see."

"You'll give him a chance?" She asked surprised.

"I seem to remember someone telling me yesterday that they were trustworthy." He shrugged.

Juliet smirked slightly. "Well, I am." She said.

"Then I'll trust you." Jess said, glancing at her.

Juliet ducked her head slightly. "So you should." She said after a minute.

"There's no way your mom doesn't want to get with my uncle though." He smirked.

"Oh well, everyone knows that." Juliet grinned, waving him off.

"What?"

"Oh you have so much to learn, Mariano." She grinned. "Stick with me and I'll teach you everything."

Jess smirked. "I look forward to it."

"Now get out before my mom gets home!" Juliet said.

"But your mom loves me so mch already."

"Go!" Juliet laughed.

"Your wish is my command." He smirked, giving her a mock salute before leaving, leaving Juliet shaking her head after him.

"So you and Luke made up then?" Juliet asked as she, her mom and Rory were sat on the couch that evening, watching a movie.

"Yeah. Seems pushing Jess into the lake helps." Lorelai joked.

"He pushed Jess into the lake?" Rory said shocked. "Why?"

"Why not?" Lorelai snorted. "I know I agreed to stay out of it but that boy is trouble, I'm telling you."

"You don't even know what it was about." Juliet rolled her eyes.

"I know it was to do with Jess." Lorelai said.

"I'm just saying, we don't know the full story, that's all." Juliet shrugged.

Lorelai looked at her daughter weirdly. "Ok..." She said.

"So how are things going with the band?" Rory asked.

"Yeah good. It's annoying we have to hide at Sophie's to practice though." Juliet sighed.

"Well you can always practice here." Lorelai said.

"What? Are you serious?" Juliet said excitedly.

"Are you kidding me? When am I never serious?" She laughed.

Juliet squealed and hugged her mom. "I love you, mom!" She exclaimed.

"Well the feeling is mutual, kid." Lorelai laughed. She then glanced at Rory. "Jules mentioned you spoke to Max?"

Rory smiled. "Yeah. It was nice."

Lorelai nodded. "Good. I'm glad." She said quietly.

Juliet glanced at her mom. "Are you ok?" She said softly.

Lorelai sighed but smiled, putting her arms round them both. "I've got you two. I'll always be ok." She said softly.

Meanwhile, Jess was walking by the diner. He glanced in to see Luke sweeping the floor and putting the chairs up on the table. He took a deep breath before going inside. "Hey.." He said.

Luke looked up. "Where have you been?" He said gruffly. "Actually, you know what, I don't want to know."

Jess just nodded. "Ok." He said. He went to head towards the chairs but he stopped. He glanced over at Luke who had continued sweeping the floor. He rolled his eyes before he walked back and started putting some chairs on the tables.

"What are you doing?" Luke said surprised.

"You said I have to work here until closing or did you forget that?" Jess said sarcastically.

"No, I remember..." He said.

"Well then...closing's not over yet right?" Jess shrugged. He saw Luke smile slightly. "No, you're not getting all sappy on me now. I'm doing this to get you off my back. Not to help you." He grumbled.

"Noted." Luke nodded.

"Good."

"Ok then." Luke said, going back to the sweeping. He glanced over at Jess once more and then looked back to what he was doing, smiling slightly.

So I hope you liked it! Please let me know what you thought by dropping me a review! I have already got so many ideas for this so I really hope you stay with me. :) Thank you!
