Harry didn't know how long he was standing in front of his potions teacher's office, maybe a few minutes or a few hours. He only knew that he did not understand what he was feeling, he was hurt and at the same time he felt an understanding towards his evil teacher. It hurt him because he knew that the boy who had suffered bullying like him didn't deserve it, he hadn't done anything to James and his friends for them to go and bother him like that. He also understood and understood what that child had felt, since he also happened to himself. But above all he felt anger that all the inhabitants of Hogwarts bought him with him, he was not a bully and bully like James! He would never hurt someone for the simple fact of being poor or not having the necessary resources, since he did not have them during his eleven years of life!
His mind went back to the resources he had seen in his father's pensieve, James Potter's face grinning as he watched Severus sprawled on the bloody floor.
"Harry?" asked a voice.
Harry spun around and faced the intruder, rage coursing through his veins and his green eyes flashing with anger. From one moment to the next he didn't know what happened, he just heard how something creaked and something fell to the ground. His mind snapped back to reality and he noticed Ron and Hermione lying on the ground, Ron clutching his left arm as he groaned in pain. Hermione next to him grimaced but looked at him with concern.
- I'm sorry! " Harry apologized horrified " I don't know what happened... I...
"Mr. Potter," a deadly voice whispered from behind him.
Harry turned slowly to look at his potions teacher, who was looking at him with his usual cold and stern gaze, until he noticed the Gryffindor students getting up from the floor. Snape looked at Harry again and the latter lowered his gaze to the ground as he saw his father's eyes shine dangerously.
"Tell me, Potter, did you want to make your father proud by attacking your... friends?" I ask venomously.
Harry snapped his head up and faced his father.
"No! I don't want to make that idiot proud! I'm not the same as him! Harry yelled furiously.
Severus narrowed his eyes to slits.
"Don't yell at me, Potter," I whisper.
But Harry wasn't listening to him, he was sick of being bought with James
" I'm not the same as James Potter! I'm not an idiot like him, I'm not a bully! You know why? Because I know what it feels like to be on the opposite side! Harry ran off without waiting for an answer.
But he never noticed the surprise on Severus's face, it lasted a few seconds but Hermione had noticed. Severus walked up to them and sent Ron off to the hospital wing with the know-it-all girl. He then entered his office while closing the door behind him.
"...Do you know why? Because I know what it feels like to be on the opposite side"
The boy's words played over and over again in his mind. Harry Potter, the spoiled prince of Gryffindor was... abused? It was impossible, everyone wanted the insufferable and arrogant brat. Not only the teachers, the students and, above all, their legal guardians. So the boy had told him that the same thing had happened to him too? Severus snorted, probably wanting to play the victim and be pitied, and thus get more attention than he already was.
He sat down at his desk and grabbed his glass to finish his fire whiskey, it was obvious the boy was looking for attention. He raised his occlumency shields again and buried thoughts of possible abuse of Saint Potter deep in the back of his mind. Harry grabbed onto the railing of the astronomy tower, his grip growing stronger on the railing that prevented him from falling meters and meters high. He was still furious at his teacher's words, how dare he judge him like that? I didn't know him! I couldn't say those things about him! He tightened his grip on the railing and his knuckles turned whiter and whiter, he could feel his magic cavorting around him, ready to explode at any moment. The image of Ron and Hermione being thrown against the wall came back to her mind, and all the anger drained from her system almost instantly. He had attacked his friends! He had attacked Ron! He turned and ran towards the infirmary (where he assumed Snape had sent Ron).
After running through the castle, he reached the infirmary and stopped abruptly in front of Ron's gurney.
"Ron I... I'm so sorry! " Harry apologized - I was upset and I accidentally grabbed you and...
"Harry," Hermione's voice yelled.
Harry gave her a dirty look, what was she doing there? And why was he interrupted?
"It's okay Harry, it wasn't your fault," Ron reassured him, "it was accidental magic and it's normal."
Harry looked at him confused, magic what? Ron noticed his confusion and smiled, happy to know something Harry didn't. He opened his mouth to reply but Hermione beat him to it.
" Accidental magic is what happens when you get angry, sad or have some strong emotion " Hermione explained " it's normal in wizards and witches who are children, since they don't know how to control their magic yet. And these types of things happen " I point to Ron who had an arm in a cast
"Oh," Harry whispered, not knowing what to say.
"What happened to Snape? What did he make you do?" Ron asked worriedly.
Harry hesitated for a few seconds, would he tell him the truth about his teacher? What had he seen in his pensieve?
" Would you like someone to tell you about your life at the Dursleys? whisper your conscience
"He made me scrub thousands of cauldrons," Harry lied, sitting on Ron's stretcher. "You know, he's a greasy idiot."
Ron smiled at the nickname the Gryffindors had given him, but Hermione noted the difficulty with which he had said the words. Harry and Ron talked for a while longer, and throughout the entire conversation Hermione didn't stop looking at Harry, until at one point he turned and faced her.
"Why are you looking at me?" he snapped angrily.
Hermione blinked as she snapped back to reality. Harry was angry when he didn't get an answer from the witch.
"you always look at me with that strange face ! Because? "
Hermione made a face but deigned to answer.
"Your hair," she exclaimed, "when you arrived a week ago, it was black and a mess. Now it is blacker and almost straight.
Harry reached a hand up to his hair and touched it, it felt different. Ron gave him a confused look and then a startled look, it was true! He handed Harry a mirror he had and he looked at himself in it. Evidently his hair was straighter than before, and not only that, he was paler! Slightly but paler and it showed. He looked up to see the witch with that look and Harry could swear he could hear the gears in the girl's head turning to maximum. Suddenly the memory that Snape is his father hit him! If it was his father, that meant he should look like him, right? It must have been a mix of Lily and Severus. So why did he look like James for eleven years of his life? I didn't know, but I was going to find out. Before a mini copy of Snape walked through the halls.
But above all he had to prevent whatever they did with him from disappearing. He didn't want to look like James at all, but he also didn't want to look like Severus Snape overnight. He didn't want Snape to know that he had a son, if he already thought badly of him, what would he think if he found out it was his son? Obviously he would reject it, because no one would want to have him as a child, not the Dursleys, not Snape, not anyone. Well maybe just her mother but she was already dead. I had no one and that was for the best. He couldn't bear being rejected by Snape, his father if he found out the truth. It was better to be alone since you couldn't bear to be rejected once again and by the person who is supposed to love you, and not only didn't love you but hated you.
