(A/N: That Sprina adventure ending was everything I could ever dream and more! Thank goodness that they didn't prolong the reunion and that Spencer doesn't have amnesia! I hope you all will still enjoy this alternative version)

Esme Prince rushed into GH, looking around for anyone who could help her. She had gotten a call from Nurse Baldwin, telling her to come to GH right away. That there was news about her baby. She was about to give up looking for help, when she saw Laura in a hospital room, seemingly wide awake, but not moving an inch. Slowly she entered the room, frowning as she looked at the woman who had taken her in and had gone off to retrieve Ace and Spencer.

"Mayor Collins? Laura?"

To Esme's alarm, Laura didn't answer. She just sat there staring through Esme, as if the younger woman wasn't there at all.

"Esme?"

Esme whirled around to see Nurse Baldwin. She sighed in relief then looked at her worriedly. "What happened? What's wrong with her? Where's Ace?"

Elizabeth sighed and escorted Esme out of the room. "Laura's in a state of shock right now...she's catatonic."

"What? What happened? Is Ace ok?"

"It seems that The WSB bombed the haunted star with Victor Cassadine and Spencer on board. Laura's been in this state ever since."

"Oh my god! What about Ace?"

"Esme?" Trina stood not too far away from the woman, with baby Ace in her arms, sound asleep. Trina herself looked at the other girl warily.

"Oh my god, Ace!" Esme got up to retrieve her baby, but Trina took a step back. Elizabeth could tell that the girl was still in a state of shock herself and may not be thinking too clearly.

"I promised Spencer I'd look after him...keep him safe…," Trina mumbled.

Elizabeth placed a hand on Esme's arm. "And you've done that, Trina. You kept Ace safe. You got him home safely, just as you promised. But the baby's mother is here now. You can give him to her. It's safe now. You're both home."

"But Spencer...he's not...oh my god...he's still out there…"

Elizabeth quickly took the baby, seeing that Trina was on the verge of a meltdown and might drop the baby, who seemed to be bigger than her at the moment. She quickly handed the baby to Esme and went to wrap her arms around Trina. "Hey, it's ok. You'll be ok. They've gone to find Spencer and bring him home and you've done good Trina. You did exactly as he asked and got the baby home."

"But Spencer's not home," Trina cried, clinging to Elizabeth, the events of the past few days hitting her.

"But he will come home to you, Trina. Both Curtis and Taggert are out there looking for him. They will bring him back to you."

"Is there something I can do?" Esme asked, clinging to Ace, and at the same time feeling like she should be doing something to help.

"Just take care of that baby. We have everything in control here," Elizabeth advised, escorting Trina into one of the examination rooms and having her lie down. "You've been up an awfully long time, Trina. You should get some sleep."

"How can I sleep when Spencer is still out there?" Trina sobbed, feeling so lost and empty, yet connected to Spencer in a way she couldn't explain. Whatever it was, it told her that he was not gone. To not give up hope. Yet, his not being here with her, safe and sound, where she could see and touch him...it was tearing her apart. "You have no idea how I feel…"

Elizabeth felt tears in her eyes at the memory. "I may not know exactly how you feel right now, but I can relate. I used to date Laura's son Lucky. We were so in love...practically inseparable. We even did this fake wedding thing at this abandoned church one winter. I still remember the vows. You have my heart and that's a permanent lock, everything I am is in love with you...well...anyway...before graduation...Helena Cassadine faked Lucky's death. She had set his apartment on fire and planted a subway token on a body that was burned beyond recognition. We all thought Lucky was dead...and despite not feeling that he was gone, I was forced to accept it...but the sadness...the devastation was complete. If it wasn't for Bobby Jones...I don't know how I would have gotten through it."

"Did he come back?" Trina asked, finding herself curious.

"He did...but he wasn't the same. Helena had twisted his mind too much and...we tried to have a relationship. Broke up and made up numerous times. Hurt each other terribly...in the end, Lucky left

town, breaking it off for good. But he's coming back to see about Laura. He's the only one of her kids I can call now."

Trina wiped away her tears, feeling calmer now that she had a good cry and Elizabeth's story to take her mind off of her own grief. "That's good. She shouldn't be alone...it sounds like the Cassadines have made it a game to pick on her family."

"It does seem that way. The rest of us are just...collateral damage I guess. But...I don't regret a thing. Lucky Spencer was my first love. He was by my side at the hardest time of my life. He gave me Aiden and he gave all three of my boys a grandmother in Laura. I just hope that he's found whatever it was he was looking for out there."

Elizabeth was suddenly taken by surprise when Trina hugged her. "Oh, sweetie."

"Thank you, for helping me. You took my mind off...Spencer. Even for a little bit. It helped me pull myself together," Trina pulled away, wiping away the rest of her tears.

Elizabeth smiled and gripped Trina's hand in hers. "It's my pleasure. Now, I'm going to give you a mild sedative to help you get some sleep, so things will look clearer to you when you wake up. Just looking at you, I can tell that you're exhausted."

Ten minutes later, after Elizabeth administered the sedative, Trina curled up on her side, sound asleep. Elizabeth was just spreading a blanket over her when Portia appeared in the doorway.

"Thank you for taking care of her," The doctor sighed, entering the room.

"Oh, it's no problem. I just...I saw a lot of me in her for the past several hours. I had to help," Elizabeth smiled. "How are you holding up? With Curtis gone again, this can't be easy for you."

"Oh, it's not. I mean, I am so happy to have Trina home and that she's safe. But now, Curtis is back out there again, along with Taggert, looking for Spencer. I'm telling you, that boy is nothing but trouble."

"You sound like my grandmother when I was dating Laura's son Lucky. But at the time, he was the best thing that had ever happened to me, in my opinion…."

"So I should just let it be if he comes back?"

"That may be a wise choice. If it's not meant to be, they'll know."

Portia sighed, knowing that Elizabeth was giving her some good advice, yet she was unable to stop thinking of ways to keep her daughter away from Spencer Cassadine if he did survive.

"Word of warning. My gran tried to keep me away from Lucky at one point. Teenage me ran away from home with Lucky. Trina is an adult. She can just legally move out and not talk to you again. Take my advice. Let it be."

With that said, Elizabeth left the room, leaving Portia to think over her words.

..

She was back on The Haunted Star, except this time it was seemingly empty. She walked into the club part of the ship and was relieved to find Spencer leaning against the bar, waiting for her.

"You've finally made it," He smiled, walking towards her. "I thought that you'd never come."

"I followed you on this boat once. What made you think I wouldn't again?" Trina asked, looking around the almost deserted room. "Are you the only one here? Where's Victor?"

"Yes, it's just me. Great-grandmother Helena came and collected him," Spencer shrugged as if he was talking about a visit from a professor of some sort.

"Oh wow. That must have been scary."

"A little, but not much. She wasn't here for me. Only him. I'm still waiting."

Trina frowned, not wanting to ask what he was waiting for. "You...you're not leaving me, are you? You promised to be right behind me…"

Spencer took her hand and smiled, his brown eyes sparkling with mirth. "Silly girl, I always keep my promises. Don't worry."

"Well then hurry back to me."

"I'm trying. Do me a favor, will you? Look after my grandmother while I'm away."

"Of course…"

"I knew I could count on you," Spencer smiled, leaning down to kiss her.

She gasped, feeling the warmth of his lips and the strength of his strong arms as he wrapped her in an embrace. He felt so real. Not a figment of her imagination at all.

"Wait for me, Trina."

"I'll wait for you forever…"

…..

Trina woke up with a start and looked around the dark hospital room. She had no idea what time it was, but it must be late. She laid on her back and stared at the ceiling, thinking about the dream she had just woken up from, convinced more than ever that Spencer was still out there somewhere. She just had to wait a little bit longer and then they'll be back together and she'll never let him go again.
