Elizabeth had just finished her shift when Lucky arrived. She saw him before he saw her, which gave her time to take in his appearance. He looked good. His dark blond hair was now long and he was clean-shaven. His eyes were just as blue and his mouth still resembled his mother's. Full, pink, and gorgeous. Really, when it came to his parents, it was clear that Lucky had gotten his looks from Laura. Finally, he spotted her and he hesitantly waved as he made his way to the nurse's station.

"Elizabeth...how is she? Is there any change? What the hell happened?" He asked, barely stopping to take a breath.

"The Cassadines, of course. That's what happened," Elizabeth sighed, feeling exhausted. With taking care of her regular rounds and taking care of Trina and Laura, and dealing with her own traumatic memories when she was a young girl dealing with a terrible loss, Elizabeth was beat. "I'll explain it to you on the way to Laura's room."

Lucky fell silent as he fell into step with his ex-wife as she walked out from behind the counter and lead the way to the elevators.

"Victor Cassadine kidnapped your nephews, Spencer and Ace on board The Haunted Star. Spencer's girlfriend Trina had snuck on board. Well, your mom and others went to Greenland to get them back. Scott ended up calling the WSB and they ended up bombing The Haunted Star with both Spencer and Victor on board. Victor's body was found, but there was no sign of Spencer. Laura went off on Scott, calling him a murderer. I gave her a sedative, but when she woke up...she was catatonic. The doctor says it's a state of shock and she'll come out of it eventually...but...with her history...I thought it'd be best to call you."

Lucky stopped walking, the shock hitting him. He remembered the day Nikolas had brought his newfound son to Kelly's. How he had announced that he was naming the baby after Lucky and Lulu. How honored he had felt. He remembered his mother's happiness about finally meeting her grandson and how she looked forward to watching him grow. He remembered how quiet Spencer grew as Nikolas began to leave his care to nannies and became more distant.

He wondered who was the worse father, himself or Nikolas. He for taking himself out of his kid's lives completely, or Nikolas, for being around, yet maintaining a distance from his son that had left Spencer feeling alone. There was no telling. All he knew now was that his family may be facing a great loss and it may be too much for his mother to handle.

"Maybe I should go find him…," Lucky mutter, running a hand through his hair.

"Curtis and Taggert have gone back to Greenland to look for him, Lucky. Right now, you're needed here. Laura needs at least one of her kids with her. I don't know where Nikolas had run off to. He didn't even show back up when word got out that Victor had kidnapped his sons."

When they got to Laura's room, they found Martin Grey sitting by her bed, telling her all about his recent visit to see his mother. Elizabeth cleared her throat and gave Martin a sad smile. Seeing Lucky and Elizabeth there, he got to his feet.

"Hello. I had just gotten word that she was back and thought I'd come to sit with her. It's not like I'm not used to this. I set with my mother all the time," Martin stammered, pushing aside his own grief for a moment.

"Martin, this is Laura's youngest son, Lucky. Lucky, this is your Uncle Martin Grey. He and Laura have grown close over the past few years," Elizabeth introduced.

"Oh yes, Lucky. Your mother has spoken of you often," Martin shook his hand."

"Mom has told me all about you as well. It's nice to finally meet you, despite the circumstances," Lucky nodded. He looked at Laura with tear-filled eyes. "How long has she been like this? What has the doctor said? This isn't like...last time, is it?"

"It's been a full day so far. The doctor said that it was just shock. It's nothing like last time. She should come out of it at any time," Elizabeth reassured, placing a gentle hand on his back. "I am so sorry. You know how I love Laura. She has been such a comfort to me, especially after Franco...and now I have to tell the boys. Cam is going to be devastated that he can't be here…"

"And no word from my brother?"

"None. I don't know where he is or if he's even alive. After all, you'd think that his sons being kidnapped by a psychopathic Uncle would bring him running back to Port Charles."

"Yeah. Even if Spencer wanted nothing to do with him, Nikolas should still be here. I remember how angry I had been at my dad...nothing would have kept him away. I think...something may be wrong there. Whether it's Cassadine mess or something else...I don't know. But this disappearance just isn't like Nikolas at all."

"Well, whatever is going on with him, I hope he comes home soon. His mother needs him," Elizabeth sighed, forgetting all about the legal woes that were awaiting Nikolas should he return.

"In the meantime, she has us. We'll see her through this," Lucky gave a grim smile as he squeezed Elizabeth's hand in a show of support. They may not be a couple anymore, but they would always be family. His mother was the glue that seemed to hold everyone together. They just couldn't lose her. Not again.

Portia was relieved to see Trina awake and sitting up after a long nap. Hopefully, some of the exhaustion was gone and she could take her daughter home.

"Trina, you're awake," Portia smiled, entering the room. "Did you sleep well?"

Trina sighed and shrugged, not knowing what her mother was expecting her to say. Right now, the only thing she could think about was Spencer. Where was he? Why didn't he show back up before they boarded that plane? Was he cold? Was he hurt? Did he think that she had abandoned him?

"I'm ok, I suppose. I'm not the one stuck in Greenland, probably wandering around hurt and alone," Trina wrapped her arms around herself, trying to lend herself some kind of comfort.

"Curtis and Taggert had gone to Greenland to look for Spencer. If he's alive, they'll find him," Portia came in and sat next to her daughter. "In the meantime...let me take you home. You can use your own bed right now…"

"No. No, I want to stay here. They'll bring Spencer here and I need to be here when he arrives," Trina shook her head, getting up off the bed and walking to the opposite side of the room. "I'm not going anywhere until I know he's safe."

"Trina…"

"I said no."

Portia sighed and held her hands up in defeat. "Alright, alright. I won't make you leave. But at least let me bring you something to eat. Did that man even feed you?"

"Not much. I'm not really hungry anyway."

"You're probably running on fumes right now. I'll put in an order for a meal. We have a new food service serving the hospital now and the food is pretty good. Mind you, not Kelly's, but not the usual hospital fair either," Portia picked up the bedside phone to dial the number for food service.

"I just want him to come back to me," Trina's voice was barely a whisper as she walked over to the hospital window that looked out into the hospital courtyard.

Portia again didn't know what to say. Her heart ached to see her daughter in such a state. ..

Trina frowned, realizing something. "Where's the baby? I told Spencer I'd take care of him until we got home…"

"He's with his mother now. He's safe. Don't you worry about that now. You just concentrate on yourself, now baby. You've had quite an ordeal."

"I'm fine. Just...scared for Spencer. Hopefully, Curtis and Daddy will find him soon and bring him back to me," Trina stared out the window, trying to keep her mind away from thoughts of what if. The last thing she needed was to wonder what if Spencer was gone. What would she do then?

Hours after the explosion of The Haunted Star…

It was his day off. The fisherman was ready to return to the small house that he shared with his wife and son and enjoy spending time with his family. He was about to put away his equipment and head for his car when he saw the boy wandering amongst the ice-covered rock formations. He looked like he had gotten into a bad fight with someone. His clothes were wet, and he was pale and shivering. The fisherman frowned and took a step forward.

"Help me," The boy nearly whispered before falling to the ground unconscious.

The fisherman gasped in a mixture of shock and horror as he ran to the boy's side, searching for a pulse. Finding it, weak but beating, he began preparations to get the boy some help. The island didn't have a good medical facility, but his wife may be able to help. The only problem was, getting the boy to his house, but he was sure he could manage. He just had to hurry.
