Ahem: a collection of stories for my little sister's birthday. I shall put my music library on shuffle and pair her top 10 ships with the first 10 songs. Each ship gets a story related to the song with decreasing times: ship #1 gets 10 min., ship #2 gets 9 min., ship #3 gets 8 min., etc. So ship #10 is a hot mess 1 min. panic attack.
You don't HAVE to listen to the song first...but you might want to. And author's notes are bolded.
4. TopangaxCory (Boy Meets World) – "Dixie-Anna" by Shirley Temple – 7 min. timer
AND, OOPS, the out-of-order, extra, add-in couple! I have seen exactly three clips of this show: something where she thinks she's fat, something where he screams, "LET ME TOUCH SOMETHING!" lolol, and their wedding night. And you saying they're wholesome. So that's what I've got to go on.
"Topanga!" Cory hissed, throwing another pebble at her window.
She finally appeared, her hair glowing in the moonlight.
"Y-you said you'd meet me tonight!"
She shook her head.
"Can't. I've got to study!" She saw his crestfallen face and immediately recanted. "Maybe tomorrow-"
"Everyone's out tonight, Topanga. Everyone who's got someone to be out with, that is."
Now she glowered at him.
"You mean at Lover's Lane? Well, I wasn't about to go there."
"I…" Well, in reality, YES, OF COURSE, that was where he wanted to take her. "Topanga, why do you keep me waiting?"
He could tell she was about to slam her window closed.
"The moon is shining!" he tried one more time, hoping to stoke some romantic nerve in her. Some very buried, dormant nerve. "And my heart – it's pining for you! Please...won't you come meet me?"
"No."
"But – but love is in the air!"
"No."
"Can't I at least hold your hand?"
"Maybe. Tomorrow. I have to study. And maybe not tomorrow either if you insist on being so crude."
And then her window was slammed closed.
Cory sighed heavily and began his walk home alone in the moonlight. He failed to turn and see the kiss that was blown to him from between her curtains.
This was fairly easy to write, I just quoted the song a bunch. Also #Ilovethissong, man, very underrated Shirley song. I hope I did remotely okay with these characters I know nothing about, lol.
