Ow. That was the first thought in Spencer Cassadine's mind when he woke up. Ow. His head was pounding and he felt like he was living inside of a furnace, he was so warm. Where was he? Where were Trina and Ace? Were they safe? Was his grandmother still there? Funny when he thought of his grandmother, he could remember being in her arms...but it was a dream because he was too big to be carried around like that right? He moaned, realizing that his thoughts were just a jumble of musings and wonderings. The only way to find out about the people he loved was to open his eyes. Now that all the weird dreaming was over, he should do that, right?

Frowning, he concentrated on lifting his lids until he indeed saw sunlight...sunlight that was streaming through a closed window. His frown deepened, and he looked around the room, taking note that he had no idea where he was or how he had gotten there. He just remembered jumping off of The Haunted Star before the drones could blow it up and feeling the rippling effects of the explosion as he tried to swim to get away. That was it.

He looked towards the door as it opened to reveal an elderly man, whose eyes lit up at the sight of him.

"Ah, our young patient has awakened at last, yes?" The man entered and walked over to his bed just to press a wrinkled hand against his forehead. "Ah, you don't feel so cool anymore. I believe we have warmed you up."

"Wh..where am I?" Spencer asked, his eyes again scanning the room for any clues to the answer.

"My home, young man. I had just gotten finished with my fishing excursion when you stumbled upon me out of nowhere and collapsed. I don't know where you had come from at this time of year, but it is a good thing you found me. You would have died out there, with that case of hypothermia. But my wife and I kept you warm and full of warm soup and waited for you to wake up. Now here you are, wide awake. But who had beaten you up, laddy? Your face was all bruised. You weren't involved in that Cassadine mess were you? The WSB was all over this island because of that."

Spencer's eyes widened as he sat up, then moaned as the room began to spin around.

"Careful. You've been out of it for quite a while. Don't make any sudden moves," The fisherman helped Spencer lay back down.

"Trina...Ace...I have to know if they're ok," Spencer moaned, feeling panicky. If anything had happened to them, especially Trina, since it was his fault that she was in this predicament, he would never forgive himself.

"There were no Trina and Ace with you. It was just you," The fisherman frowned. "Do you have a name?"

"Spencer. Spencer Cassadine...I was on the haunted star trying to stop...my insane uncle...but the drones came and I jumped off just before they blew it up...and that's all I remember. Please tell me that Trina and Ace got home safe...that's all that matters…"

"I know nothing about a Trina and Ace, young man. I do know about the whole situation that Victor Cassadine caused. I take it that's where you came from?"

Spencer simply nodded. "He kidnapped me and my baby brother...and my girlfriend snuck on the boat. He had a pathogen...he was going to test on us but...Trina's stepfather and my grandmother came for us...we were on our way to the plane when I saw my Uncle running to the Haunted Star...I had to try to stop him. He was mad...I couldn't let him get away…"

"No good comes from trying to be a hero, young man," the fisherman tsked. "I'll contact the authorities. Let them know you are here so you can go back to your family. In the meantime rest."

"Please let Trina be ok," Spencer sniffed, feeling an ache that was deep in his heart. If only he could see her again. He'd be fine, just as long as he could do that.

A knock on the door pulled the fisherman's attention away from his young patient. He frowned. Not many people knocked on his door at this time of year.

"Eddy! Answer that, will you? I am attending to our young man here!"

Spencer lay there and allowed the Fisherman to examine him and sure he was ok. He didn't hear the voices at the door or hear the footsteps until he saw three people enter the room, two of them being familiar. He tried to sit up again, but the fisherman pushed him back down.

"Settle down, young man. You've just woken up from a long sleep. Give yourself a chance to settle."

"Mr. Ashford, Mr. Taggert, where's Trina and Ace? Where's my grandmother? Are they safe?" Spencer questioned, unable to settle down until his questions were answered.

"Calm down, Spencer. Everyone is fine. They're all back in Port Charles and worried about you. Taggert and I came back to find you and take you home," Curtis explained. He looked at the fisherman curiously. "What's wrong with him? How soon can he travel?"

"The boy had a case of hyperthermia. It was come and go for a bit, but he should make a full recovery in a few days or so. We just want to make sure that his body temperature is back to normal," The fisherman explained.

"Thank god, Trina's safe," Spencer closed his eyes, letting his relief flow through him.

Curtis approached the bed and shook his head. "I thought I told you to get Trina and Ace to the plane, young man?"

"I had to stop Uncle Victor...I was afraid he'd get away."

"He's dead, thank god. He can't hurt anyone anymore. You and your brother and Trina are safe. We promise you that."

"I'll call and let them know we've found him and will be home in a few days," Taggert went out of the room to make the call, feeling glad that he had some good news for Trina for once. Hopefully, news of Spencer's survival will make her relax and ready to return to normal life again.

…..

Trina ran into the hospital, her heart beating with joy. Her dad had just called and told her the good news. Spencer had been found! Beaten up, a little frozen, but alive! A kind fisherman had found him and taken him in and had nursed him back to health and soon they'll bring Spencer home to the people that loved him! She didn't even see a startled Porsha as she rushed into Laura's room, startling Elizabeth, Lucky, and Martin.

"Spencer's alive! They just found him and they'll be bringing him home in a few days! He's alive!"

Elizabeth rushed over to the young girl and hugged her tight, her own relief filling her chest. "Oh Trina, that is good news indeed!" She looked over at Lucky who smiled and nodded, also relieved by the good news. He couldn't wait to see his brother's eldest son. He wondered if the kid had gotten just as tall as Cam. Was he like Nikolas in any way or was he more like his mother Courtney, or perhaps his grandmother Laura. It just reminded him that he had a lot of making up to do when it came to his family.

Lucky took Laura's hand and smiled. "Mom, come back. Spencer has been found and he's going to want to give his grandmother a big hug when he gets home. He loves you so much. But you have to come back. Be here for him when he gets home because he's going to need his grandmother."

Lucky gasped as he felt Laura's hand squeeze his own in response. He looked at Elizabeth with wide blue eyes. "She squeezed my hand! Is that a good sign?"

"It's a very good sign," Elizabeth nodded, more relief filling her up with joy. Spencer was coming home and by the looks of it, Laura will be coming out of her catatonic state to greet him! Things for her family were certainly looking better than they had in a long time.
