Some Distractions Are Better Than Others
With the majority of the Son family out of their home on Mt Paozu or at other commitments most days, a tired and now very bored housewife struggles to fill her days. Chi-Chi often found herself home alone while her husband, a secret champion protector of their world, worked tirelessly on their family farm and trained inbetween. Their youngest child had since moved on from days filled with homeschooling to continuing his education at a privileged establishment that had been funded by the money that had been gifted by Mr Satan. And with their eldest child, Gohan, frequently occupied with his promising career and having long since moved out to live with his partner, Videl, it was no wonder Chi-Chi felt the way that she did.
Each had been something that Chi-Chi had desperately hoped for. She had spent most of her adult life working towards being able to keep her family out of the limelight, coaxing her husband to provide a secure wage for their home and especially their food bills, and ensuring that her children have the freedom to choose a life outside of the combat and peril that she and her husband had grown up with. With that finally achieved, it was a relief to know that the only cost now was her loneliness. That, she could live with, even if her daily life often left her unfulfilled.
Once more, in a day that seemed to merge with others in monotony, this capable woman had taken care of all the necessary household improvements. The food had been prepared, the cleaning was complete, her family's clothes were repaired, she had taken time to read, she even tried television but soon gave up after finding it filled with trivial matters and gaudy advertising, as well as her daily katas, there still wasn't much else to do.
However, one particular day, when Chi-Chi was sweeping the pathway that led to their humble home and their doorstep, she stumbled on a loose flagstone and accidentally knocked over one of her many plant pots. Sighing frustratedly, she crouched down to the ground and began picking up the bulk of the fallen pot and the scattered shards surrounding it. As she looked back up at the others that lined the gardens around her, she noted that they all looked pretty old and worn now. A brief memory ghosted a smile across her lips, as she had started using them before Gohan was born to bring colour to the gardens of their new family home. Placing the broken remnants in a small pile, Chi-Chi stood, dusted her hands off, and took several steps back from her home, running her scrutinising eyes over the whole site.
Towards the back gardens, she could see the old metal drum bath that Goku still liked to use to soothe his body from heavy training. Occasionally, she enjoyed joining him for a soak under the stars, but that had become less frequent as they got older. Looking at it with fresh eyes, she could see that it had definitely seen better days. Chi-Chi chewed her bottom lip in thought as she stared at it, before her gaze carried over to the area where they used to roast food on the firepit, and her face instantly dropped - the area was now overgrown. Over the years, even in the absence of her husband, she had never let the garden get out of control, just simply maintaining it every now and again and sometimes delegating it to Goku when he needed to be kept out of trouble. But looking around now, to her eyes, it looked downtrodden. It didn't look inviting at all. And Chi-Chi started to believe that it was no wonder that their friends did not come over for gatherings and food at theirs anymore.
Blinking back tears, the raven-haired woman raised her chin with all the stoicism she has shown throughout the years and was now resolute in her new decision. Chi-Chi was going to make changes, and this garden would be her first project. It would be a task that she could put her time and effort into, crafting an environment that reflected the image their enduring family deserved. As she considered the logistics of it, a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as she thought about how it would fill her days with purpose. Although she reasoned that it was quite possible that she might have to bring her husband in on the project when required to do some of the heavy lifting. Actually, no, I won't. I can do it myself. I'm not that rusty with my training; I'm sure with a few extra repetitions a day, I could do it no problem.
Chi-Chi spent the rest of the afternoon methodically walking around their wraparound gardens, taking stock of what they had, what could be fixed, and just what simply needed to go.
Although she had considered it throughout the afternoon, when it came to dinner time, she decided not to divulge any of her plans to Goku or Goten when she was asked how her day was and instead opted for it to be a surprise.
The following morning, Goku awoke and rolled over in their bed to cuddle his wife before getting up, but he was surprised to find her side of the bed empty. Chi-Chi's up early, but not normally by this much. He looked at the space with a confused expression as he felt out for her Ki. For some time since he had been resurrected, the Saiyan had been squeezing in a little extra training before his wife awoke and he had to start his day job of farming. Although he would normally have put on his Gi first, his curiosity had him roaming the house for his wife in just his boxer shorts. Goku followed her soft Ki all the way outside, all the while questioning to himself what she could possibly be doing out here at this time.
As he drew nearer, he stopped suddenly and couldn't help the smile forming on his face. It was a pleasant sight for him to see Chi-Chi practising her katas under the tree on a mound a little way from their home. The sun had only just risen, and it had captured the edges of her body, causing the beautiful silhouette of her seamless forms to stretch across the grass. She sure is beautiful. Maybe I should join her? No, whatever she's doin', this is hers. I should just go. Or I could just… stay a little while and watch. Just for a bit.
Moving to the furthest edge of his home and then to a clump of trees at the boundary of their gardens, Goku remained hidden as he continued to watch her entrancing, radiant form from a distance. As long as she didn't see him, he was sure it would be fine.
Almost lost in the sight before him, he hadn't realised how much time had passed when his wife started to turn and make her way back towards their home and him. Not wanting to be discovered, Goku raced back to the house and jumped back into their bed. He hoped to be able to see her like this again, but the Saiyan didn't want to risk getting caught doing his own early morning training, which he had already tried so hard to protect.
Shortly after, Chi-Chi returned to their home, completely covered in a fine sheen of sweat. She had thought it would be fairly easy to jump straight back into training, especially as she had always been fit, and it hadn't been that long after all. However, she wasn't anticipating having it have as big an effect on her as it did. Making a beeline through the quiet house, Chi-Chi went straight to the bathroom and showered herself off from the exertion.
After freshening herself up and putting on her normal day clothes, she noticed that Goku was still asleep. She moved over to his side of the bed to gently wake him up, placing her hands on his arm, "Goku, it's morning. It's time to wake up." Great. Now he decides to have a lie-in. We'll see about that. After no response, Chi-Chi decided that this called for the smell of cooking food; that was likely going to be the only way to get him up when he's like this.
As she turned to walk away, she suddenly felt strong arms wrap themselves around her chest and pull her backward onto the bed with a loud thump. Letting out a slight shriek, followed by a round of giggles from both of the married couple, there was a mess of hands tickling up Chi-Chi's sides, causing her volume to increase. Enjoying her melodic sounds, he laughed along with her. Although it often takes her by surprise, she wouldn't change these cherished moments with him for the world.
After he pulled her in for a warm cuddle, inhaling her scent and gently stroking her still slightly damp hair, Chi-Chi began to pull away. "As comfortable as this is, breakfast won't cook itself, and Goten will be up soon, if he isn't already with that noise."
He rolled on his side, looking up at her, while she was straightening her cheongsam. "Hey, I remember it being you making all the noise. Anyways, Goten can fend for himself. I could at his age."
She walked over to their bedroom door, standing half out of the room, before she turned to look at him and answered, "Is that so? Well then, since you can cope so well, I'll give your portion to Goten."
Sitting bolt upright in their bed, furrowing his brow, and speaking in his deeper, more serious voice, "You wouldn't."
Chi-Chi narrowed her eyes; if that was a challenge, she would gladly accept it. "Try me." Without a second thought, she immediately shut the door to shield herself from the pillow that he was bound to throw. Not even a fraction of a second later, she heard the dull thud and let out a giggle as she made her way downstairs.
After getting dressed in his work clothes, Goku made his way downstairs. As he stood at the far end of their elongated hallway, with his nose guiding him, he looked towards the kitchen. His eyes suddenly widened as he saw the devilish look on her face. Her eyes locked with his as she casually offered Goten the first serving of breakfast. His serving.
Zipping straight into the kitchen and into his seat, Goku snatched the plateful of food from Goten's reach just in time.
"Hey! No fair, Dad. I was down here first." Goten objected indignantly.
Taking a hearty bite of breakfast, he answered, gesturing at his son, "Yeah, that might be true, but I'm dressed properly, your jumper is inside out."
As Goten checked, looking from side to side around himself, Goku speedily stole some of the bacon from his youngest son's plate.
"Oh, that's not funny, dad!"
Goku just gave a big smile while each of his cheeks were full of bacon.
Chi-Chi rolled her eyes; it was always the same: "There's plenty more."
Once she had sent Goten off to his school on Nimbus, sent her husband to their fields to work, and cleared up from the carnage that was breakfast, Chi-Chi already felt the weariness of the day's activities so far. It seemed that this endeavour was likely to require more effort and commitment than she had originally accounted for, but still, this was a project she had pledged her heart to doing. And done it was going to be.
Taking a pencil and notebook, she made her way back outside for the day and started to draw a layout to plan where everything should go. It took a few attempts to figure out what she would actually like to do with the various areas.
But eventually Chi-Chi came up with something that she was happy with and would serve her family best, as well as conceding that she could always make little changes along the way. Enacting her plan, she made piles of the gardenware that she would definitely like to keep, marking them on her template, and started to move around and even remove some of the other items that were broken or that she no longer wanted in the garden.
By the time that late afternoon came around, Chi-Chi knew that she had to stop. Not only was she already drained of her usual stamina, but she had to make a start on dinner before her husband and son came home expecting their food. Walking up the old path towards their home, she let out a defeated sigh; this had been and was likely to be far more exhausting than she had initially given the activity credit for.
Back in their home, Chi-Chi caught sight of herself in the mirror as she passed it on the way to the bathroom. To her surprise, she discovered that not only was she covered in odd streaks of dirt mixed with cobwebs and grass stains, but that she had managed to tear her cheongsam in several places. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she clenched her clothing; this was certainly not suitable attire for gardening. Taking it off so that she could wash up, Chi-Chi threw it into a pile so that she could sew it later.
Freshly cleaned and changed, Chi-Chi was just finishing up as Goku opened their bedroom door, taking her slightly by surprise. "You're home earlier than usual."
"I finished everything for today; I even got some training in too." Chi-Chi eyed him as she tied her hair up. "Don't worry, the field's still there." He said with a reassuring smile.
He caught her looking over his rippling chest as he stripped off his dirty farming clothes; he knew she loved his body, and as much as he didn't understand the appeal himself, the effect it had on her was always telling. With a smirk, he asked, "I'm about to jump in the shower, you fancy joinin' me?"
Chi-Chi found herself swallowing hard. It was a tempting offer, but she knew that she was already so tired and still had more to do. She closed her eyes to pull her gaze away from his flexing physique and made the first excuse she could think of, "Uh, Goten's going to be home any minute." And she turned away, letting out a slow breath and only opening her eyes to leave the room.
"That's never stopped you before, but okay, if you say so." He said sarcastically as he threw his dirty farming clothes in the basket next to where Chi-Chi's dirty and torn clothes, which she was wearing earlier in the day, lay. Frowning at the sight, he asked, "Hey Cheech, what happened today?"
She came back as soon as she heard the concern in his voice, and on seeing him, she followed his gaze. "Oh, that, it's nothing. I was just moving some things around, and it got messy."
"Hmm, okay, as long as you're alright. You could've asked me, y'know."
She walked over to him and placed her hands either side of his head and watched as his face relaxed as she said, "Honestly Goku, it's fine. It's nothing that I can't handle."
After dinner and clearing up, and whilst Goten and Goku sparred down by the river, Chi-Chi decided to take the opportunity to make some more appropriate clothes for her gardening project.
Using some of the blue material that she used to make her husband's undershirt for his Gi, she skillfully fashioned herself a similar sleeveless top. And after rummaging around in her wardrobe for a little while, she was able to find a pair of her old red Gi pants that thankfully still fit her. And lastly, she used a length of spare red material - that she found in the bottom of her sewing box - to wrap around her waist to keep her shirt from riding up as she worked. Chi-Chi reminded herself that just because she was at home when she was working didn't mean that she shouldn't still try to be modest, especially as guests could arrive at any moment. At least this way, she was happy that she wouldn't ruin any more of her good clothes.
Once the new morning came, Chi-Chi put on her new training and gardening clothes. Passing the mirror, she paused, placing her hand on the material as it clung to her body, and smiled briefly at herself; it had been a while since she had seen herself in any kind of fighting role. Shaking her head free from her nostalgic notions, Chi-Chi made her way outside to make a start on her forms. She knew she would have to continue to increase her training so that she could complete this task.
Again, Goku awoke to find Chi-Chi's warm body - which was usually nestled against him - missing from their bed, only to find her a short time later in the same place as the previous day. This time, however, he noted that she was pushing herself much harder and- Wait a minute. Is she wearing- Has she made herself a new Gi? He stood staring, equally baffled as to why and besotted with the sight. To his eyes, she didn't look that different from when he first reunited with her again at the World Martial Arts Tournament all those years ago. She had often said since, that she's changed or that she's old, but to Goku, she still looks like the Chi-Chi he had always enjoyed and loved. To him, she was her, his wife, his friend, the mother of his children, and his lover - if he behaved himself. Nothing was ever going to change any of that, so he didn't understand why she made comments that they both knew would upset her.
Right now, looking at her, he could see what an exquisite woman she is. Watching her move so fluidly and with powerful purpose, yet still gracefully. It stirred those strong feelings inside him - the same kind that claimed her on their very first night of intimacy and those evenings that pull at him whenever his body bathes in moonlight.
In this moment, he desperately wanted to join her, stand with her, and run through forms together, just like they used to. He even wanted to grab her and drag her to their bed before their youngest son woke up. Hell, he wanted to do all of that and more.
But this was obviously a time that she wanted and maybe even needed for herself. If that were the case, she wouldn't forgive him for taking that away from her or interrupting it.
So Goku made a decision to keep his distance, and yet, he couldn't quite bring himself to leave. If this was what she was going to get up to every morning, it would certainly be well worth watching. Smiling at the idea, Goku sat himself down on the dewy grass, just watching in awe as she moved that incredible body of hers, his eyes never leaving her form.
Before long, he felt Goten's bright Ki flicker as he felt the boy stir from his sleep. Knowing his time was about to be cut short, he made a beeline straight for home. Making doubly sure that he wasn't caught by Chi-Chi, who was now already starting to make her way back.
A little while later, three members of the Son family sat at the kitchen table, eating breakfast. Looking over at his father's apparently innocent smile, Goten asked, "What are you so happy about?"
"Oh, nothing, just a good day is all."
Goten craned his neck to look out of the kitchen window. "Oh, okay, yeah, it does look like another hot one."
Goku sat smirking to himself, saying, "Sure is."
The Saiyan tried to stop his suspicious smile from seeping out every time he was near his wife; he knew that she would surely be curious about his state of mind if she cottoned on to it. But thankfully for him, it seemed that Chi-Chi just took it as Goku's usual cheery, odd self.
Whilst Goku was on the farm, he began to wonder about what Chi-Chi might actually be up to and why she was training. Was it for a tournament? No, that would be too far away. Maybe she wanted to fight him again, like they used to spar. But then again, she probably would have asked first, so they could work together. He didn't have many answers, but he was certain that he would eventually get to the bottom of it.
Finishing his work early, Goku was hoping to catch a glimpse of what Chi-Chi might have been up to. He snuck towards his home, shifting from tree to tree to get a closer view of what he might be missing in his absence, but all he could see was his wife organising some plants. As he cast his eye around briefly, he noted that the area looked a little different, but nothing that he could really put his finger on.
Chi-Chi, on the other hand, had been busy all morning. She had carefully decanted many of the well-grown plants and flowers from their previous homes in the older pots and transferred them to the new bedding that lined the front walls of their house. They were already beautifully mature but slightly restricted in their previous containers. Chi-Chi hoped that, with the roots now being free to roam within the soil, they would continue to grow and flourish up the sides of their home. Creating their own little blossoming nest amongst the woodland backdrop.
Having cleaned herself up from a vigorous morning, Chi-Chi had made a start on mending Goku's Gi. Despite adding her early morning training and gardening project to her routine, she still managed to fulfil all of her household duties and reorganise the biscuits that Goten had rifled through that morning. She could tell that her body was already adjusting. Although it was obvious that she was getting older and finding certain things more of a challenge, she had come to realise that in the absence of strenuous activity, Chi-Chi had forgotten just what her body was actually capable of. With this in mind, she made a plan to increase her training and activities from tomorrow onwards.
When Goku came home and interrupted her thoughts, she couldn't help but smile at him, just as he mirrored the action back at her. Though both of the married couple thought they were smiling for entirely different reasons.
The following weeks were more of the same; every single day, Chi-Chi awoke early to apply her training, fed the Son men, maintained their home as usual, and progressed further with her garden project. Although she had found herself resisting her husband's advances, which were becoming far more frequent than usual, in favour of her much-needed rest. Chi-Chi had forgotten how much it took to maintain her body, and she even had to increase her food intake to keep up.
Over that time, Chi-Chi had completely revamped the firepit using the logs of one of the trees that she had felled and repurposed one of her large pans to adapt the cooking rack for a wider variety of foods they could cook out there. This was going to be a place that Goku would certainly enjoy too. He often enjoyed cooking his catches, but he wasn't as skilled as Chi-Chi when it came to preparation and seasoning. However, when it came to outside cooking, he certainly was the master. Though they didn't tend to have wild boar as often as they used to, when Goku made it, it was absolutely delicious.
In addition to this, she also added a space on one of the logs so that the married couple could share the seat together. At the time of planning, Chi-Chi's mind had wandered, with thoughts of snuggling underneath a cover beneath the expansive starlit skies. Memories and desires of their younger years together had bloomed within her, and she wanted to bring some of that back. For Goku, it was like next to no time had passed, but for Chi-Chi, those seven years with him absent had felt like an eternity.
Goku had also spent each day waking up just in time to witness his wife's training, and on one of the days he was very close to getting involved. Though, on that occasion, it was not because of his renewed attraction to her but for fear of her safety. The Saiyan had witnessed the day beforehand that Chi-Chi had started to prepare to move a boulder, stretching her muscles and easing the rock into a more manageable position, but on the day that he almost intervened, he watched as she lifted the oversized rock clear from the ground. Goku found himself impressed by the feat alone but worried about her positioning and whether she might actually hurt herself. Keeping his gaze carefully on her, when he saw the boulder momentarily slip, he was convinced that she would need his help, but as he zipped closer to her, he saw that she had already recovered herself. Chi-Chi had not only caught it midair, but she had used it as an opportunity to better adjust her movements and was now moving with greater ease. Goku couldn't imagine why she needed to move the boulder, but he felt pride at seeing her overjoyed at having accomplished its relocation.
Despite this and her other achievements, it was what he saw in only the last couple of days that shocked him most. He witnessed his wife leap from tree to tree with such stunning agility, crack boulders into small chippings, fell trees with a single kick, and lug the huge logs around. Chi-Chi had always been the strongest of women in his mind, but damn, he was hard-pressed to see how he didn't know how capable she was. Well, Krillin's an Earthling, and he's achieved incredible things. Maybe…
Although the thoughts in his mind were swarming with ideas about training and teaching Chi-Chi about Ki manipulation, watching her every day like this, another feeling was certainly taking over; not only did he have a swelling of his heart, but undoubtedly the attraction was growing too. A beautiful woman, as she always had been, was now a glistening warrior, clad in the blue that he wore himself.
Today on the farm, Goku's mind had certainly been busy. He couldn't even concentrate on driving the tractor straight without his thoughts wandering to a svelte figure, a swish of midnight hair, a delicious scent that was more intoxicating than ever, and the ease with which she lifted whatever oversized object that she was carrying. Oh, and that little grunting squeak that she made whenever she exerted herself, it was reminiscent of their times in the bedroom. However, there was also this new little dance that he had seen her do a few times now. She would only do it when she had achieved something; it wasn't just how cute she could be; it was her contentness and pride in whatever she was doing that made Goku beam. That feeling was amazing.
Lost in his fantasies, he began to veer off in different directions again, but the huge tree stump that suddenly wedged itself under the wheels quickly jolted him from his mind's conjurings. He couldn't hold these feelings at bay much longer; at this point, Goku wasn't sure if he could last the rest of the work day. Over and over again, he thought about being intimate with her; then they would eat together and then train together. He had the image all planned out in his head, and being ever so eager to make that a reality, he abandoned the tractor and began making his way back to the house, as he knew that Chi-Chi wasn't a fan of him just dropping in on her with instant transmission. The beaming smile that he wore across his face remained unchanged as he flew home.
However, what he was met with was not at all what he expected. As he drew closer to the house, he felt familiar Ki, Gohan, Goten, and even Videl were there. His smile faltered; this wasn't entirely unusual for them to be there, but he just couldn't work out why.
When his home came into view, Goku couldn't help but notice a lot had changed on the outside; many of the usual fixtures were in different places, and it felt… odd. Landing on heavy feet to walk up the pathway to the gardens around the side of their home, he heard rounds of laughter as well as lots of praising and complimenting Chi-Chi.
"You've done an amazing job, Mom!" Gohan beamed, looking around at all of her hard work.
Videl chimed in, "Mrs Son, it looks beautiful."
"Oh Videl, you're practically family, please call me Chi-Chi." She said, putting her hand on the young woman's shoulder for reassurance. "And thank you. It all seems worth it now."
Goku wasn't quite sure what was going on. His wife was being congratulated, and he wracked his brain to think why, when he heard his son say something that made his heart drop.
"What a great way to celebrate your birthday Mom! We have all this and a celebration!"
Goku muttered quietly to himself, "B-Birthday… it's Chi-Chi's birthday?!" As it all came flooding back to him, he shouted a little too loudly, "Shoot!"
Unexpectedly gaining the attention of the others, the messy-haired man made himself obvious and walked towards them with his hand on the back of his neck.
Seeing his father's stance, Gohan's face dropped slightly. I hope he hasn't forgotten.
Tentatively speaking as all eyes were on him, Goku knew that he couldn't say the wrong thing here, "Hey guys." Lifting his hand to greet them. He turned to his smiling wife, "You like nice Chi-Chi."
There was a sigh of relief around the group; he hadn't forgotten. Goku was here for her first birthday since he was back from the dead, and immediately he had made his wife smile.
Resuming their conversations, Goku took the opportunity to look around. Their garden had been moved around. The firepit was now in a different place, and the outdoor tub replaced its location. There were new rock chippings, and the path somehow seemed different too. Beyond the cooking food, he could also smell the fragrant flowers; they were certainly tidier and much more colourful than he had remembered. Although he had not been back long, he couldn't recall it all being like this a few weeks ago. As he looked around, his eyes started to pick out things that he had obviously missed while he was busy gawping at his wife in the mornings. It all made so much more sense now. This is what she had been working towards this whole time. Goku felt a small and unexpected pang of sadness. If she was only training to makeover their garden, now that it was complete, that would mean his early morning viewing sessions would stop. Although he might be able to concentrate on his own morning training sessions again, he hoped that she would continue hers more.
He glanced over to Chi-Chi again, who was wearing a pink sleeveless cheongsam that had a thigh skimming split down the sides of it, this time without a pair of Gi pants in sight. He took in the glorious athletic legs of this woman as she shifted in her seat. His eyes continued to follow her, watching her touch her face gently in reaction to something someone had said, and then as she smoothed a piece of her raven hair down, settling it to perfectly frame her face. It had been a long time since he had seen her like that.
Goku had thought that she looked beautiful at the party that Bulma threw for the Z-Fighters after Kid Buu's defeat, and although he was late to it, he did appreciate just how good she looked. In fact, that occasion had reignited their passion, as it became the first time they had been intimate since he came back to life. Their nights prior to that had been spent with Chi-Chi pouring her heart out to him about what he had missed, and he regaled her with his own experiences and how empty he felt without his family.
As he continued to watch her, with her gracefully fluid movements and her succulent lips moving as she spoke, he felt that sensation that was reminiscent of that night again. It was the deep attraction that she had spoken of before; it had been washing over him these last couple of weeks, and now it was suddenly hitting him like an insurmountable wave.
"-get her?"
"Huh?" Goku answered after snapping out of his thoughts. He turned to look at Goten, who was bouncing excitedly.
"What did you get Mom for her birthday?"
Like a deer in the headlights, Goku held his breath as, one by one, all eyes moved over to look at him.
Letting out a small anxious chuckle, after a brief pause, he started to speak, "It's, uh, something that, uh, your mom nee-should have in private." A look of confused eyebrows raised around him. "Uh, Chi-Chi, shall we go inside?"
He had absolutely no idea what he was doing.
Chi-Chi, on the other hand, was positively glowing. Not only was her family coming back together again, but her garden project had been a success, and her husband had remembered her birthday. She could practically squeal with delight, but she tried to play it cool for whatever Goku had for her birthday gift. Although he wasn't known for the big displays that she sometimes wished she had, his gifts were always full of goodness and love in one way or another, and that had always been enough for her.
Walking inside their house, through to the kitchen, Chi-Chi smiled happily. She had no idea what her husband could have in mind for her, but she would love it regardless.
Traipsing behind her, Goku was desperately trying to think of what to say. She was moving so fast that the moment was almost upon them. As he gently closed the door behind himself - no-one else needed to hear the shouting that was about to happen when she discovered him - he began to open his mouth to speak, but was immediately cut short.
Chi-Chi ran to him, throwing her - now much stronger - arms around his neck, and looked up at him adoringly. "I honestly thought you'd forgotten, Goku. When you left so early this morning, I thought you had disappeared to train again."
Goku let out a small unsure hum. He certainly had left early, but not for his own training; it was so that he could get himself in a good and discreet position to be able to comfortably watch her train. His own morning routine had since been cast aside in favour of the beautiful sight that each new dawn would greet him with.
Looking down into her glossy, deep, dark brown eyes as he gently rested his hands on her hips, Goku's expression fell from one of fright to one of lust.
Feeling the Ki of their guests milling around a short distance away, they were far too close for the idea that had now crept into his mind. A small smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he lifted one of his hands to his forehead. The couple disappeared from their modest home, seemingly into thin air.
Appearing in a grassy opening in the woods, not too far from their home, his instant transmission was only enough to get them safely away from the others without being tracked.
Chi-Chi looked around herself before looking back up to him and asking, "What- Why are we here?"
"Just a minute," he placed his finger up, before cupping around his mouth and shouting, "FLYING NIMBUS!" He looked back down at her now confused face and gave her a heartfelt smile. Goku moved closer to his wife, leaning down to her ear to whisper, "If I fly, the others will feel my Ki and know where we are. We don't want that this time."
His close, low voice sent a shudder through her entire body, and she blinked slowly as he moved his head away from her, revealing that handsome smile that he wore whenever he was the one to initiate their normally nocturnal activities.
Oh.
Her blush and smile slowly started to take over her face, when he suddenly broke their eye contact and leapt them straight up into the air, holding her tightly around her waist as they moved. This caused Chi-Chi to scrunch her eyes tightly and squeal as they rose. She knew that he would never let anything happen to her, but that didn't stop her from being filled with the fear of the gods whenever she was launched like that. As they started to fall and a feeling of weightlessness overtook her sensations, Chi-Chi opened her eyes just in time to see the small, soft yellow pillow of cloud that caught them.
Breathing a sigh of relief and looking back up at her husband, Chi-Chi slapped his chest. "I've warned you about doing that!"
Laughing as he sat them both down, "We ain't gonna have a lot of time before they realise that we're missin'." And then stroked the little cloud in thanks. "I meant to say, but the, uh, garden really does look great, Chi."
With a beaming smile gracing her features, she snuggled forgivingly into his warmth, not just because it was colder at this altitude but because it had been so long since they had been able to do this together. His warm hands holding hers as he wrapped himself around her were reminiscent of when she was pregnant with their firstborn. When he finally understood exactly what pregnancy meant, the Ox-King instructed him that it was now his sole priority to ensure his new child's wellbeing as long as he lived. After that, Goku was much more attentive and devoted more of his time to his family. Chi-Chi sighed lightly. It was a blissful time in those first few years of marriage and parenthood. She leaned herself back a bit further as she moulded herself into his chest.
Approaching a familiar lake, Goku stood the both of them up before thanking the plucky little cloud that had allied their family for decades. He moved to pull Chi-Chi close to him so that he could jump them down to the ground, but Chi-Chi put her hand out, preventing his hold, and smiled confidently at him as she leapt off on her own. His gaze followed her over the edge in sheer amazement as he watched his wife make a perfect landing on the grassy banks far below.
With her hands on her hips and looking around - she knew this place well, although it had been quite some time since she was last here - she turned to speak as she heard him land behind her. "What are we doing he-"
Chi-Chi was instantly silenced by her husband's lips as a deep and long kiss pulled the breath away from her. His hand buried itself in her midnight hair, and his arm hooked her around the small of her back, drawing them closer together.
They remained like that for a few moments before Chi-Chi pulled back breathlessly, with her face heated and her swollen lips trembling. "What brought this on?" She whispered out.
Licking his lips and without breaking eye contact, he walked them backwards towards a tree for cover, he said in a low tone, "I just wanna give you your birthday present."
Chi-Chi's eyes widened when she realised what he might have in mind for her. "Goku, are you serious? O-Out here?"
His lips made their way to her exposed neck, kissing and softly dragging his teeth over the sensitive flesh as his strong hands found themselves roving her body as her back felt the imprint of the tree trunk behind her. Her low moans at his actions only spurred him on. All of the building over the past couple of weeks was finally spilling out; his now overflowing passion for her had steadily been increasing, and now having the opportunity to show her exactly how much she affected him felt incredible.
He whispered in between kisses, "We're miles away from home; no-one will know, as long as you're quiet."
His hand trailed up her leg, lifting the pink cheongsam and revealing her bare, toned thighs.
"Ahh, Goku-" She sighed, instantly trying to suppress herself. "I'm not noisy."
"Yeah, you are, and I know exactly which buttons to press." His deft fingers slipped inside her underwear, and she let out a loud gasp as he pressed close to her most intimate area. Close to her ear, he whispered, "Told ya."
Chi-Chi enjoyed his actions, trying to stifle a moan at every opportunity, but she was still very aware that they were out in the open. But with each of his movements, her eyes kept blinking the outside world away as she was pulled into all-encompassing love and euphoria.
Pulling back from her slightly to look at her face, Goku loved seeing the range of expressions as his wife enjoyed his actions. He had found himself rubbing his confined length against her as he moved. Oh, he needed her, but it wasn't time yet. He wanted to give her more first.
As her own hands wandered, running over him, she pulled his scarf off, followed by his jacket, throwing them to the ground and gripping his taut vest-clad chest as she moved her soft but eager hands downwards to unbuckle his trousers. But Goku shook his head and calmly spoke with a devilish smile on his face, "Not yet."
In one swift motion, he broke the band on her underwear, lifted her body to his head height - with her dress now hitched up around her waist - and buried his face in her core. Chi-Chi squealed as she locked her legs around his neck and dug her hands into his thick, dark hair. It had been so many years since she had experienced this, and her excitement for it didn't go unnoticed by the Saiyan currently lashing his tongue and devouring her from the inside out.
Her moans steadily increased as she bit her bottom lip and gripped locks of his hair tightly. With his swirling tongue enjoying every part of her, Chi-Chi was so close to reaching her peak, and it seemed like he knew it too, as he suddenly delved further and deeper, causing her to clench her jaw to stop herself screaming out to the sky as she climaxed around his lapping tongue.
Relaxing her legs, Goku lifted her down from her temporary perch as she now stood leaning breathlessly into his chest. He wiped his face before lowering his head to place a kiss on her forehead, whispering, "Happy Birthday, Chi."
"Mmm, nice try, mister, but we're not done yet." Chi-Chi yanked him down to her face and kissed him forcefully. She was definitely much stronger than he remembered her being a couple of weeks ago. She elicited a low growl from the Saiyan as one of her hands lowered to unbutton his trousers, allowing him to spring free from his confinements as his bottoms and boxer shorts dropped to his ankles.
With her eyes locked with his, she lifted one of her legs, hooking it over his hip to draw him closer. Goku certainly didn't need to question her actions; the fire in her eyes said more than enough.
Pulling him into her, she let out a shaky breath as he grunted at the warm new sensation engulfing him. He had certainly missed this; it had been a few weeks already since their last coupling, and with all the buildup of watching her, he was more than ready to take her.
Moving together passionately, Chi-Chi found herself biting his shoulders; she wasn't going to give into his assumption that she couldn't keep quiet. But right now, it was really hard for her not to.
As Goku moved rhythmically, he could feel her ecstasy building again, and he smiled in the knowledge as he breathed heavily against her. Wow, she's really liking it today!
Nearing her end, Chi-Chi let out, "Harder Goku!"
Slightly hesitant, he asked, "Gee… are you… sure?"
"Yes, yes, I'm sure!" He didn't need to be asked twice, as he started to thrust her harder, but he wasn't prepared for her to shout again. "No, wait."
Pausing in his movements, "What? You don't want it harder?"
"Go Super Saiyan."
He pulled back from her face to check if she was serious. He hadn't had sex as a Super Saiyan since before the Cell games, and he was by far stronger now. "Are you sure? I mean, the boys might sense it."
"Just make sure they don't then." Her expression changed to a devious smirk. "Goku, don't you dare stop now; it is my birthday after all."
"Well, if you're sure." Her eager nod was all he needed. Goku powered up, igniting the air around them and flooding the married couple with a golden aura. Chi-Chi gasped, not just at the sight but because he had grown inside of her too.
He stared at her with his intense teal eyes, happy for her reaction. He wasn't going to turn down this opportunity, but even with all the training she had been doing, he didn't want to risk hurting her.
Pushing gently again, just to make sure, Chi-Chi moaned out in pleasure. At the sound, a confident smirk overtook his features, and as he built up the speed, she progressively got louder.
She was now unable to contain the sheer delight of being filled so comfortably and repeatedly. It was pure, radiant, unbridled joy overtaking her senses. And at her end, she cried out for the peak that he had chased her to, shuddering as his glowing energy engulfed them. He too had reached his climax, having been spurred on by her ever tightening grip on him.
Placing his sweaty forehead against hers, his aura fluctuated around them as they chuckled to each other.
With a look up at him, she stroked his blonde hair, "I might never get used to this." Then she moved her hand to his face and cupped his cheek, staring directly into his impassioned teal eyes. "But these, these eyes are always the same, whatever their colour."
Goku let out a slow breath as he dropped out of the transformation, with his hair reverting back to the familiar black colouring, but his eyes remained teal for a moment longer before returning to normal. He smiled and took her hand from his face, kissing it as he pulled her tightly against his chest. "I love you, Chi."
"Goku, I love you too."
They stood for a moment in this loving embrace before parting to reclaim their clothes.
After adjusting her cheongsam and smoothing down her hair, she picked up his jacket and shook it out before looking back up at him. Goku was standing beside her, holding out a red apple for her. Chi-Chi looked from the ruby-skinned fruit up to his face and back again before turning to really look around at where they were. Sure enough, the tree they had been under this whole time was full of the fruit, and just like so many years before, here was Goku offering Chi-Chi his food once more.
The tears started to form at the corners of her eyes as she looked back up at him with adoring eyes. Taking the apple, her suddenly hoarse voice spoke, "Thank you. For everything."
"Aw, you never have to thank me, Cheech. Wasn't it the most pleasurable thing to do?" With a cheeky smirk, he took a massive bite of his own apple before then swallowing it whole. "Anyway, I told you that you were noisy."
Absolutely indignant over how blasé he was about discussing their intimate relations, she threw his jacket down and lunged at him.
With a grin across his face, he blocked her before she landed her strike and the next one after that. But what made his smile broader was that she blocked his attacks too. They continued to parry blows across the grassy carpet at the lakeside.
A short time later, in the midst of their sparring, they both stopped suddenly at the sound of a throat clearing.
"Ahem."
Goku turned to smile and raised his hand, "Hey Krillin, what are you guys doing here?" He was doing his best to disguise his weariness. Chi-Chi would not be happy at all if the others had any idea of what they had just been up to.
"We were worried. Your Ki spiked, and the boys said that you were at Super Saiyan. Is everything alright?"
He looked at Chi-Chi with an awkward half-smile and then back at their friends and family. "I was, uh, just showing it to Chi-Chi; she thought she could take me on."
The group was completely dumbfounded, but Goten shouted out excitedly at the thought of his mom fighting again. "Didya mom? Didya win?"
"I can definitely take him on, that's for sure," she said with a blushing chuckle and a glance at her husband.
They exchanged reassuring glances and spoke between themselves until Gohan remarked, "And you weren't hurt?"
"Oh, it's fine, your father just took me on a date is all."
