A few weeks after Courtney had returned to school, she and Ginger were walking to the red head's house after school had let out.

"That history test was much harder than I thought," said Courtney.

"Told you that you should have joined us for our study group yesterday," said Ginger.

"Next time I'll take you up on the offer," said Courtney.

"Also, aren't you expecting to hear back from that company soon?" she asked.

"Yeah, I should have gotten something in the mail today," said Ginger as they reached the front door of her house.

"Hey, just the girl I've been waiting for," said Lois while stepping out of the kitchen once her daughter and her girlfriend entered the house.

"Hi mom, did a letter come for me?" asked Ginger.

"I placed it up in your room on your desk," said Lois before Ginger and Courtney took off upstairs.

"Okay, here we go," said Ginger after entering her room and finding the unopened letter.

"What's wrong?" asked Courtney as her girlfriend's expression turned from an excited smile to one of shock and hurt.

"They…. They turned my book down," said Ginger while sitting on her bed.

"I'm so sorry," said Courtney.

"Just kidding, they accepted it!" said Ginger who instantly brightened up and jumped back to her feat.

"You actually got me you little," said Courtney as she gave the red head a little shove on the shoulder. Down stairs, Lois and Carl could hear the two laughing.

"What's that all about?" asked Carl.

"If I had to guess, your sister's book was just accepted by that company and they are celebrating," said Lois who was getting dinner ready.

"Cool, her story was definitely a better read than her diary," said Carl.

"I thought I told you to stop doing that," said Lois as Carl ran away.
