Twenty years ago the Pokémon world champion gold Roger retired but left with a challenge to the world to try and surpass him. that one statement brought forth an era of trainers and Pokémon that had never been seen before, the goal every trainer set out to achieve was to become the strongest in the world and to be known as the next Pokémon world champion.
Back in present time running through the woods was a boy named Luffy. Luffy was a small looking boy with a red button up vest, alongside his blue shorts he also had a pair of sandals sitting comfortably on his feet.
Luffy was currently running through the forest with his 2 older brothers one named sabo a boy not to bigger than Luffy.
Sabo was wearing a small blue jacket that had a smart white button up shirt underneath, with a pair of blue shorts to match, with some worn down looking trainers on his feet.
The final brother's name was Ace who was wearing a red tank top with brown shorts and a pair of equally damaged trainers as Sabo.
Together the boys called themselves the ASL and had all been raised together by Luffy's grandfather and the current Pokémon Professor of dawn town. Professor Garp
"I wonder what grandpa wants to show us" questioned Luffy with a look of excitement in his eyes. "Who knows maybe he found a new species of Pokémon" called back Sabo who couldn't help but share the same look in his eyes at just the thought of his prediction being true. "Or that old man might have found a super strong Pokémon and he just wanted to show us" Ace suggested with a grin.
The rest of the run through the forest was very quiet but it was a cozy one that allowed the trio to think of all the different reasons why the professor wanted them to come to his lab so urgently. When the trio arrived at the foot of the small lab that was dome shaped with the large red Letters P.L in the middle of the building.
Before the boys could even catch their breath the metal doors opened and the boys were immediately scooped up and put in a familiar tho tight hug. "I'm so glad to see you boys get here so fast" Garp cheered only to be interrupted by a small call "cant…breathe" gasped out Luffy.
After hearing that Garp immediately placed the boy's down and after checking if they were okay proceeded to rub the back of his head and laugh "haha sorry about that I sometimes forget my own strength. Anyway follow me and I'll show you the reason I called for all three of you here.
After the ASL trio caught their breaths they followed the professor through the lab seeing different scientists working hard on either Pokémon food for different types, Pokémon species and their environments, and Pokémon medicine.
Tho none of the boys payed them much attention since they normally came here to study with Garp on the basics of Pokémon so they are prepared for when they set off for their own journey. But as the boys came closer to the middle of the lab they saw a lab table with three rectangular shaped containers with a see through lid that with every step revealed to the trio 3 eggs but not just any type of egg no these were Pokémon eggs.
Each egg had the same patchy pattern but the colour of the patches and eggs themselves was different for each egg.The left one was a light green egg with red patches, the middle egg was red with dark blue patches and the right egg was black with yellow patches.
The trio just stared at the eggs with excitement and curiosity since none of them had never seen a Pokémon egg before never mind 3. "During my latest research exploration I met a kind man who after I healed his sick Trapinch" Garp began with a small smile as remembered the kind man and how happy he was when his Trapinch was fully healed.
Garp breathed out in a calm manner before continuing his story to his now very focused grandsons. "It was on my way back to dawn town that I realised how close all three of you are to turning 10 years old the most important day for you three boys as its the day you get to choose your first Pokémon to join you on your journey to achieve what ever goal or dream you chase tho I don't think I had to remind any of you of that did I" Garp questioned with a knowing and proud smile.
All three boys then answered at the same time loudly and proudly as if they had practiced the answer "NOPE!" each with the same roaring passion in their eyes that could make even a Gyaradose sweat.
Garp could only laugh in amusement at his grandson's before continuing on with his explanation for why said boys were here today. "Well since I've got to do another research expedition since there have been reports of a strange looking creature in the woods of a city near by I thought that I should give each of these eggs to be looked after by one of you three and before you ask there isn't a catch but a reward" now the boys after being told this couldn't wait to hear more
"If I come back after my trip and a egg hatches for one of you then you can keep it and train it before you are meant to receive a Pokémon partner but if an egg doesn't hatch then that person has to wait until they are 10"
"How long do you think you'll be away for" asked sabo who unlike his other brothers was trying to keep his excitement down until he knew he had a chance at the egg hatching for him"
"About a year and half at the earliest garp" answered sabo after hearing that couldn't help but join his brothers in their cheers of joy the asl trio proceeded to celebrate the news for a couple of minutes before ace asked something that had been on his mind "so who is choosing first" already knowing that an argument could start over this decided that it would be fair to play a game of rock paper scissors the last one standing chooses first then the second would choose and finaly the person who was eliminated first would get the egg that was left over.
Luffy agreed immediately since he loved playing that game and didn't mind if he lost because all Luffy truly wanted was to have a new friend since he never liked being alone.
The game then began and after a couple of rounds the winner was sabo second was ace and last was luffy. Sabo after winning immediately ran to the table and picked the left egg, ace was next and picked the right egg and luffy received the middle egg.
After the three boys got their eggs they thanked there grandfather and walked through the woods with the professor waving them off after they disappeared he remembered something and couldn't help but chuckled "maybe I should have mentioned that my friend was a dragon master oh well I'm sure those little squirts will figure something out they always do"
The ASL trio kept on walking together until they came around a branching path the right one leading to a small town at the bottom of the mountain, the left going to a small group of bandits at the top of the mountain and the middle going to the main city of the area.
"Hey what if we have another competition" asked a smiling luffy "why so you can lose again" ace teased "ace" sabo hissed "what do you have in mind luffy sabo questioned with a small smile. "Well if we want to be trainers we will have to be come strong with our Pokémon on our own right so what if we meet again when gramps returns and if we all have a Pokémon we do a battle to see who raised the stronger Pokémon"
"That's actually pretty smart of you luffy" Sabo complimented "yeah are you sure you didn't hit your head or something on the run to the old man's lab" interrupted ace only to receive a pout from luffy and a nudge from Sabo. "So are you guys in" Luffy asked excitedly getting a nod of approval from both boys.
Hey luffy how are we meant to raise our Pokémon separately ace asked with his head tilted to the side looking like he was trying to think. Sabo jumped in with an idea " what if each of us took a different path from here and go to the place and since it was Luffy's idea he chooses first"
Luffy immediately chose the small town since he wanted to show makino his egg. Ace decided that he wanted to go to the bandits since he believed a rough environment could make his Pokémon stronger leaving Sabo going to the main town which he was happy with because he knew of a library that was bound to have something in it about how to raise Pokémon eggs.
Each brother said their goodbyes before setting off to their chosen destination each with the same goal to each become a Pokémon trainer and have an amazing adventure with their Pokémon.
