Chapter 6

Mesogog's Fortress

Jason Lee Scott groaned as he began to open his eyes. He shook his head to clear the fog. He looked around to see he was sitting in a cell. He tried to move but his legs and arms wouldn't move against his binds. He felt like an elephant was on his body.

"He awakens". Jason turned his head, his eyes widened as he was staring at hmself.

"What are you?" He croaked out.

"Oh i'm you, the side of you no one sees". Clone/Jason spoke walking into the cell. "Oh don't worry you won't be getting out of those ropes anytime soon, the gas we gave you will last for hours after. I will say thought the two girls put up quite the fight".

"What? what have you done?" Jason snarled.

"Oh nothing, yet, but they are sleeping nicely in their new home, its a shame really but Kira showed up so i had no choice. Jay such a fighter".

"You listen to me, she will see right through you, Jay and Kira both know the real me you don't have a chance".

"We'll see about that, you know what's going to be the most fun, watching Jay freeze to death, see water powers are weak against ice, let see how she does". The clone taunted as he got up and left.

"No you leave them alone!" Jason yelled as his evil self left him alone in his cell. "Hang on Jay please"

With Kira and Jay...

Jay began to slowly wake up. She managed to look around as she was being tied to a wooden pole. "Easy little one". She slowly turned to Clone/Jason's smling face his eyes red. She closed her eyes as her wrists were being tied behind the wooden pole. "Its alright you won't be getting out of these ropes. The gas i gave you and Kira may be allowing you to wake up but your strength will be gone".

She watched as he went to adjust her legs together. She looked to see Kira in front of her. They were both still gagged. Kira groaned as he began securing her to the other pole. The two girls weakly locked eyes. They were in some sort of container.

The clone stood in the middle of the two girls. "Oh Jay it was only you i needed but Kira you had to intrude. But no worries you won't last in here once the cold air reaches you"

He knelt in front of Jay. "If you want to be free just give up your powers to Mesogog and you will be fine". He pulled the cloth down.

"Never, i would rather die then give in to the likes of him". Jay spat.

"Then so be it, i know your weakness, cold freezes water so this will be a real treat little water ninja". He taunted as he adjusted her gag securely, he made sure Kira's was tight. He went to a panel and hit a switch. The girls watched as smoke poured from a pipe. "Have a chill evening girls" He spoke as he left and locked the door behind him.

The girls began to shiver. They only had t-shirts and shorts on.

Dino Lab...

its been an hour since the girls went missing and everyone was on edge. The three remaining dino rangers were on the front porch. They looked up as the clone appeared.

Tommy went to charge but Conner held him back. "Where are they?! where is my sister!?" Tommy snarled.

The clone of Jason just laughed. "Oh they are safe,tucked away" He waved a hand showing the guys an image of the two of them, bound in some sort of box. "But that really depends on you".

"What do you want?" Conner demanded.

"Oh Lord Mesogog wants the gems off course but here is the fun part, see we know all about Jay's weakness as a water ninja, and you know what happens to water when it gets cold, well it freezes. Lets just say it won't be long until they both freeze". He explained. "Give me your gems and they will be released, or if Jay lets Mesogog have her powers they will be returned, its clearly up tp you"

"You should know her better than that". Tommy told him stepping in front of his two remainng rangers. "You should know us, we will find them and destroy you!" The cloned laughed and vanished.

They ran back inside. "Please tell me you have something Hayley" Ethan begged her.

"Sorry Ethan i don't,he's smart that's for sure. I am worried about their vitals, he is right about one thing their bodies are getting colder." Tommy looked at the monitors at the girls vitals. "Tommy this is much worse for Jay, depending on how sick she is her body will naturally try to cool it down for her fever which makes the cold that much worse".

Tommy collapsed into his chair. "I can't lose her, Hayley please do what you can".

"You know i will". She assured him. "Tommy have you tried to reach her through your link?"

"I tried but got nothing".

"That might be due to her being asleep, why not try again they could be awake by now". She suggested.

"Come on Jay let me find you". Tommy whispered as he closed his eyes. He felt Conner and Ethan grip his shoulders. He felt their gems strength.

Wth Jay and Kira...

The girls were freezing, They were shaking violently. Icicles were formng in their hair and on their skin. Jay and Kira both felt their bodies shut down as the ice began to coat their gems.

"Jay? please Jay answer me?!"

"T-t-tommy, is it you?" Jay felt a wave oe emotion at her brother's voice. "H-help me" She pleaded.

"I'm coming for you and Kira please don't give up, do you know where you are?"

"i'm so cold, i d-don't know where we are, please h-hurry"

"JJ!" He tried but the connection was gone.

Jaycee Oliver and Kira Ford both gave in to the cold as their heads rested on their chests.

Dino Lab...

Tommy gasped as the link broke. "Dr.O?!" Conner yelled as Tommy fell back. "Dr.O where are they?"

"I don't know, she doesn't know, Hayley their is bad shape'

"I know, their vitals are showing they have hypothermia"

"There has got to be something" Conner spoke in panic. "Wait if they are in the cold they would need something to keep the cold inside right? no windows or anything?"

"Conner what are you getting at?" Tommy asked hopeful.

"Last week Kira said something about a new arena being built on the west side of Logan Road, the building has power so maybe we should look there,".

"Conner your a genius!

"I know Ethan i know".

Hayley began typing at the address. She smiled a little noticing the building had the lights on. "Guys look".

They looked at the screen to see what seems to be a basement. "Good job Conner" Hayley spoke with a smile.

"Look we need to get the girls out as quckly as possible but we also need to be careful". The guys nodded at their teacher.

"Tommy take your jeep because they will need the heat when you get them, i got extra blankets for you". He took them from Hayley. "Also you get them back here then we get Jason out, the real Jason".

Hayley watched as they ran to rescue the two rangers. "Come back safe".

The Arena...

The three rangers ducked behind a dumpster once they arrived. They knew they were at the right place as drones surrounded it.

"Look we need a distraction".

"What do you propose Ethan?" Tommy asked.

"Look you can turn invisible let me handle getting them away from you while you and Conner get inside, i can handle them".

"Look be be careful"

"I will Dr.O" Ethan got up and silently walked towards the east side of the building. Conner laughed as he watched his friend begin throwing rocks. The drones got the hint and followed the blue ranger.

Conner used his speed to run to the back as Tommy used his invisibilty. Once they got inside they looked around. The noticed no one was inside upstairs.

"Come on they have to be in the lower level". Conner told him gesturing for him to follow. When they got to the door they were halted.

"Not you again". Tommy groaned looking at Jason's clone. "Get out of my way".

"How about i destroy you i was always the better one". The clone spoke.

"Dr.O go, i can handle him".

"Conner no".

"Look trust me i will be alright". They shared a glance. "Go".

"Wait for me!" Tommy looked to see Ethan at his side. Tommy pulled Ethan with him as Conner engaged in battle.

Tommy and Ethan ran down the hallway. " over here!" Ethan called as he found a black hose. They followed it to a small room.

"Ethan!" He called from the door to the room. "Its locked, can you break it?".

"I can try" Ethan made his skin hard. He grunted as he punched the lock. They both pulled it open, they stepped back at the rush of cold air. Tommy's heart sank as his eyes went to the two bound girls in front of him. They were still as a board.

"Jay! Kira!". Ethan cried running to Kira's side and Tommy went to his sister. "Kira please wake up" Ethan pleaded tapping her face. He removed her gag and undid her hands. "Kira?! Dr.O she's freezing". Ethan freed her legs and wrapped his jacket around her.

"JJ? can you hear me? hang on okay i am going to get you out of here". He told her as he began to undo her ropes. He ripped the cloth from her mouth noticing her lips were turning blue. "Ethan there is an exit down the hall get Kira to my jeep, go!" He ordered him. "JJ hold on". He lifted her ito his arms and followed Ethan.

"Dr.O!"

Tommy laid his sibling down next to Kira, he popped the roof up and cranked on the heat. "Ethan i need to get them back are you able to help Conner?"

"Of course". He ran back inside morphing as he did so.

"Hang on girls". He whipsered as he sped back to his house.

Dino Lab.

"Oh my..." Hayley stared as Tommy ran into his kitchen. he brought Kira in first. Tommy laid her down next to his fireplace and turned it up on blast. He ran out to get his sister.

He wiped the ice off her face. He slowly lifted her into his arms and brought her inside. "Tommy they need to get out of the wet clothes, Hey its okay let me do it".

Tommy remembered Conner left his hoodie in the lab so he rushed it up for Kira. When he got back Hayley changed the girls. "Thank's Hayley"

"Anytime"

"Are they going to be okay?" He asked worried as he wrapped blankets around the two girls.

"I think so you got them back just in time. Jay will be longer since it hurts her element but they will pull through". She assured them as she excused herself.

Tommy cupped his sister's cheek. He smiled as her colour wa returning. "Don't worry JJ we will bring Jason back i promise" He told her as he kissed her cheek.

"Dr.O!" Conner yelled as he and Ethan limped in.

"Hey! you guys alright?"

"We will be man that clone packs a punch" Conner managed. He led them to the couch. "How are they?"

"Hayley say's they are going to be okay". Tommy answered. The two other rangers smiled. "Look its getting late you guys go home i will call you if anything changes we still need to find and rescue the real Jason so until we find him you need rest".

Later that night he standed vigil waiting for the girls to wake. He looked up from his table as Kira began to move.

"Kira? hey, its alright you back at the house". He spoke as he knelt down.

"Dr.O?"

"Its me" He helped her sit up. "Easy"

"How did we get here?" She asked looking at Jay who was still out.

"Actually you can thank Conner he put the pieces together" He answered her adjusting her blankets.

"Is Jay alright?"

"She will be, she might take longer snce she's a water ninja but she will be fine". Tommy helped her up and brought her to the couch.

"Oh be quiet". Tommy turned to see Jay looking up at him. "No one can sleep with you blabbing".

"Oh knock it off". Tommy huffed as he helped her sit up. Her back against his chest. "You alright?"

"Yeah i'll be alright". She hugged his arms around her shoulders. "Did you get him?

"No, JJ but we will i promise we will defeat him and get the real Jason back, You know it wasn't him right?"

"I do which is why we need to get him back".Tommy kissed her head.

"We will, look Kira if you want i can drive you home or you can stay here".

"If its okay i will go home". She said softly. The girls smiled at each other. Tommy nodded and led his sister to her room.

Tommy drove Kira home and returned to his own house. When he got back he noticed his sister sleeping in her bed. "Don't worry sis i do whatever it takes to make this right". He whispered into her ear as he covered her up. He went o his own room and let sleep overtake him.
