Chapter 7

Tommy's house..The next day...

Tommy called the school to let them know neither of his students would be in due to them all being sick. He needed his team together today. He got up and made breakfast. He grabbed a plate and walked to his sister's room. He smiled noticing she was sitting up in her bed.

"Oh is that waffles i smell?" She asked with a smile.

"Maybe" She went to reach but he pulled it back. "Now you can have these on one condition"

"What's that you big meanie?"

Tommy rolled his eyes. "That you stay in this bed until you get your strength back and i promise that if we locate Jase you will be the first to know".

"But.."

"No buts, do we have a deal?" He asked holding out his hand.

"Fine, deal now give me my food". She huffed. He gave her the plate. "Stop brooding Tommy"

"I'm not, its just when you were missing it scared the heck out of me, i remebered the day when you were a kid and we found you in that cave. JJ its my fault this time".

"Why would you ever think that?" She asked him taking his hands. "Hey look at me". She lifted his face to look at her. "Tommy talk to me"

'JJ i got your message for help but i assumed you were poking around here so i brushed it off. Then i saw what really happened".

"Listen to me" She wrapped her arms around his neck. "This was not your fault, its Mesogog's," She pulled away. "I knew you would find us. You managed to use our bond to assure me of that. Look you protected me my whole life, and you still are but vowing to get our family back".

Tommy grinned at the girl in front of him. She was the strongest girl he knew. He kissed her cheek. "Thanks JJ". He got off the bed and headed to the door.

"Hey Tommy?"

"Yeah?

"Did i ever mess up your life or ruin your plans with your friends?" She asked looking him in the eyes.

"No, why would you say that?".

"No reason". He looked at her weirdly as she lid down facing her back to him. He silently left the room. Jay let one lone tear fall she felt that what Jason had told her was in some way true.

Tommy walked into the lab to be greeted by the other three teens. "Hey guys".

"How's Jay doing?" Kira asked.

"She's okay, she is still a little weak but she's okay". Tommy answeredd her with a smile. "Hayley anything on the clone?"

"No Reefside is pretty quiet." Hayley answered.

"Kira can i talk to you for a second?" Tommy asked her. She nodded. "Kira i need to ask you something i know you two girls were talking last night. Did Jay say anything to you about the clone?"

"What do you mean?"

Tommy sighed. "Dp you know if he said anything to her about her past or what it was like for her as a kid?"

"No she didn't why do you ask?"

"Its just she's acting weird but maybe its just me overthinking things, let me know if she does please". He asked of her.

Dino Lab...

"Uh guys you might want to take a look at this" Hayley got their attention.

"Jase?" Tommy whispered as Zeltrax and the clone appeared on the screen.

"Rangers, i guess by now you have been wondering what my plan is now since your rudely ruined it" The clone growled. "But if you must know there is only room for one of us". He gestured to Jason Scott who was in a cell with Zeltrax in front of him. . "Lets see which one survives" The video stopped.

"We have to help him" Kira exclaimed.

"Tommy wait, you know Jay can't get involved in this, she's took weak, and you and I both know she will follow you". Hayley spoke.

"I know but she will hate me for this, Hayley this is Jason we are talking about".

"Tommy if she is still weak and she goes in fighting she will hurt herself even more and you know Jason wouldnt want that". Tommy looked down as she placed the remaing black can in his hand. "She needs to stay here, i called Hunter to inform him of what's going on. I also adjuted the dose of the sedative so when she does wake up she will still be alert, look if you want i will do this with you"

"Hayley if i do this she will never forgive me we just started being a family".

"Tommy believe me i know but i know you don't want her getting hurt, yes she will be angry but she will get over it, now please lets keep her safe".

"I just thought of someting" Conner spoke. "She can conjure water what if she tries?"

"I thought of that too Conner, i added a component that will dampen it so if she tries it won't work"

He looked to his three rangers who nodded sadly. Tommy wiped a tear away as he made his way upstairs. "Jay?" He knocked as he entered her room. She was sitting on the floor under her window. He went to sit by her as Hayley entered the room and closed her door. She was texting.

"Who are you talking to?" Tommy asked.

"Hunter, he just texted to let me know he is coming over". Tommy smiled at Hayley since she called him to keep her company.

"JJ we found Jason". She looked up at her brother. "We have a plan to get him, now you promised you would stay here".

"I know, but i want to help"

"I know you do sweet girl but your vitals and strength are still low". Hayley answered. Glancing at Tommy who knew she would follow. Jay huffed as she began to get up but Tommy pulled her by her arm back down.

"Tommy let go". But his grip tightened. "I told you i would stay and i will stay." She tried again but he quickley grabbed her two arms locking them behind her. He knew since she was weak he could manage her.

"Hayley please what's going on?" She pleaded as Tommy held her butt to the floor as he knelt behind her. Hayley took the mask from her pocket and the can. "Guys don't please!" Jay began to try and free herself but her strength wouldn't let her.

"JJ i need to make sure you stay here". Tommy whispered as he wrapped one of his ams around her waist. She gripped his arm that was around her neck. "Please don't fight me"

"I promised you!". She yelled as Hayley passed the mask to Tommy. She watched as he inched it closer to her face. "Tommy don't do this!" Her eyes went wide as he held it tightly and began to whimper. Hayley nodded to him as he hit the button. Jay grunted as she felt the mist flowing into her body with every breath she took.

"Shhh thats it sweet girl deep breaths" Hayley soothed as she began fighting to free herself. Tommy closed his eyes as she gripped his wrist trying to pull it away as her legs began to kick. "Don't fight it, you need to rest sweetie". She whispered as her grunts reached her ears.

Tommy felt his sister fight with all her might. His heart breaking as her eyes began to close and her breathing evening out. Her legs fell to the floor as he body began to relax.

"Its okay sis, its soon over". Tommy whipsered holding her to his chest as she began to slow. Hayley chocked back tears as she covered Tommy's hand that held the mask to her face with her own. Tommy looked down as she was going slack as he felt her grip loosen and began to release. "That's it, easy" He whispered as her hands let go and her head fell to the side.

"She's out". Hayley spoke as Tommy removed the mask from her face. Tommy wiped her bangs from her face and kissed her cheek. "We did the right thing, i better let Hunter in since i heard his bike pull up".

Tommy nodded and lifted his sleeping sister up into her bed. "I'm sorry" He spoke as he covered her. Tommy looked up as Hunter walked in. "I'm sorry Hunter but it was the only way to keep her safe for now".

"Listen i understand, when Hayley told me the plan i would have done the same thing, Ipromise i will stay with her until you come back". Tommy watched as the ninja laid down with his sister and wrapped his arms around her. Hunter kissed her cheek. "Go bring him back".

Jason's cell...

Jason groaned as he watched his clone join him. "Wow don't you look happy".

"Silence!" The clone growled. "The rangers escaped!".

"I told you rangers always win"

"Not quite though, see me and Jay also had a little chat and i might have put a few bad emotions in her head.". Clone/Jason said wickedly. Drones entered the room hauling Jason to his knees. "Now there is only room for one original red ranger in Reefside so lets see who will rule me or you".

"What? where are you taking me?" Jason growled as they tightened his ropes. "I will end you!"

"We'll see about that" The clone nodded to Zeltrax. Jason grunted as the familar plastic was held tightly to his face. "Don't worry when you wake you will meet your doom". Jason kept his eyes on his clone as he was losing his fight to stay awake. He was lowered to the ground and brought through a portal.

In a cave...

Jason shot up grabbing his head. He noticed his binds were gone. "Huh? Where am i?"

"Your here to determine who will be the next red ranger". The clone spoke from the entrance. "You're going to fight me that's if you still can, you destroy me you win if not you lose". The clone told him as he walked closer.

"Bring it" Jason taunted. Jason swung his fists at the clone but missed as it ducked. Jason gasped as he got a knee to his stomach. Jason brought his legs up kickng him back. "You have no heart like i do".

"Oh you should have seen the look on her face when i told her thr truth".

"What truth?"

The clone cackled sending a punch which Jason blocked. "The truth as how she ruined your life, how you hated her being around "

Jason charged knocking him to the ground pinning him. "She's knows better than that. Jay knows we all loved and still love her, we did it sometimes to protect her"

The cloned kicked him off. "I really don't she believes that anymore". He kicked Jason in the stomach. "It was amazing to see her heart break right in front of me". he pulled Jason up throwing him outisde to the ground.

"You're nothiing more than a copy, your nothing like me and you never will be". Jason spat.

"Jason!" He turned to see the rangers running towards him. "You okay?" Kira asked helping him up. He nodded.

Tommy and his rangers stepped in front of him. "Ready guys its time to show this poser some real love". They nodded at their teacher. "Dino Thunder! Power UP Ha! The morphed.

"Jason you up for this?" Conner asked standing next to him.

"Oh yeah, i have a trick up my sleeve" Jason reached behind his back. "ITS MORPHIN TIME! Tyrannosaurus!

"Huh!?" Tommy exclaimed through his helmet. "How did you do that?"

"Explain later, lets finish this".

Tommy and Jason led the charge. Tommy jumped kicking off a tree sending a slash to the clone. "You hurt my family! no one hurts my family!"

"Kira may i have this dance?" Jason offered her a hand. He twisted her kicking her away as she twirled around each time striking the clone with her ptera grips.

The clone growled sending lasers towards them from his eyes. The rangers fell to the ground.

"Enough!" Conner hissed as they got up. "How about it guys combine weapons! z-rx blaster" The formed the blaster Jason loaded his sword. "Ready! aim! fire!" They fired the blaster at the clone Jason's sword going through the clones body.

"NOOO!" It yelled and it writhed falling to the ground exploding. Jason felt a surge of power go through him as it vanished.

They all powered down. Jason gave Tommy a huge hug. "Thanks Man, thanks guys".

"Anytime, good to have you back". Conner shook his hand. Ethan followed.

"Kira i'm sorry, i would have never hurt you".

"I know its okay". She told him with a smile giving him a hug.

"Tommy, man i'm sorry for what he put you through".

"Listen, Jase we all have that side of us".

"Please tell me Jay's okay"

Tommy looked down. "I don't know i may have knocked her out to keep her home out of this, i did it for her own good, come on lets get back to her".

Tommy's House...

As they arrived home they noticed Jay and Hunter snuggled together on the patio swing. Jason hopped out and ran. Jay smiled widely.

"Jason!" She yelled running to jump into his arms. He spun her around. She never looked at her brother as he walked by.

"Gosh Jay i am so sorry he whispered into her ear". Jason let her down taking her hands. "You know i would never hurt you".

"I know, i am just glad your back". She turned to her three friends. "Thank you for bringing him back to me". They smiled as they headed inside. Hunter kept his distance.

"Jay talk to him, look he told me what happened and the guilt is killing him" Jason told her pointing to Tommy who was talking to Hunter.

Tommy sat down and rubbed his eyes. Hunter sat next to him.

"She's okay you know, she's not mad at you"

"She won't even look at me Hunter".

Hunter sighed. "Tommy when she woke up she understood why you did it, did she tell you what the clone told her?"

"No".

"Look she does forgive you and she undersands trust me". Hunter assured him patting hid shoulder.

Jay joined them all as she sat on Hunter's lap. Jason smiled at how close they were. Tommy sighed and walked inside.

"Look you need to talk to him please?" Hunter pleaded. Jay rested her head on his chest. "lus you said you would and if you did you know what i promised you?"

"I know" She grinned. "Pick me up tomorrow around 7?"

"Sure". He kissed her cheek and left.

"What did he promise you little miss?" Jay grinned.

"He is coming camping with me for the weekend in Angel Grove"

"All alone?"

"Yes Jason just the two of us" She told him walking inside the house. Jason scratched his head and walked inside.

Jay walked into the house, she noticed Tommy sat on the couch, she walked to her room to change into her pajamas. Tommy watched as she came out and sat next to him. He watched in silence as she put a pillow on his lap and laid down.

"Do it again and i will wash you out to sea".

"Fair enough".

"What is this i hear about camping?"

Jay laughed. "Hunter promised me he would go camping with me this weekend in Amgel Grove if i forgave you"

"Just the two of you?". Tommy questioned as he covered her.

"No me, him and the three bears".

"Very funny, i'm sorry JJ, i just wanted to make sure you were safe its all i ever wanted for you".

Jay grabbed his arm that was around her shouldes. "Tommy stop, its okay i know how stubborn i can be but its time you trust me a little more. You should know by now when i promise something i keep it".

"I know, are we okay?"

"Off course we are, we always will be". She assured him as she let him hug her. Jay laid back down on her side. Tommy kept his arm around her. He watched as she began to fall asleep.

"She's going to be alright". Jason spoke as he sat on the floor next to the couch. "There is something going on though, Zeltrax knows her, i don't know how but he does, its like he always did"

"Actually me and Jay also felt like something was off". Tommy replied looking down at her sleeping face. "Come on lets get her to bed its been a long day". Jason picked her up and carried her to her room.

"Night Jay". He kissed her head as both guys went to bed for the night.

Mesogog's Lab

Mesogog walked into a room and hovered over two bodies in chairs. One being the shell of Zelttrax, the other a male whose enegry and concious was flowing into it. "My plan is almsot ready, those rangers won't know what hit them". He hissed at the male form.

Note: I know Tommy would never do that to his sister or do anything like that in the show but i wanted to show something different and next chapter we find out who Zeltrax is and its not smitty!
