A Eulogy of Frost and Flame
Resistance troopers in their foxholes,
Moon shining overhead.
The living long called this front home,
Still in place beside the dead.
...
Brothers, sisters, all in arms,
Soldiers, comrades, friends.
Stationed at the Northern Front,
The Arctic they defend.
...
A realm of ice, a realm of snow,
Invaded by creatures of flame.
For centuries, this war has raged,
No mercy offered nor refrain.
...
The troopers shiver in the dark,
Beneath stars of Milky Way.
That endless sea of dark and light,
That offered foes to slay.
...
Aliens or demons named,
Arrived via stormgate.
Infernal Host, eternal foe,
Seek to Man, eradicate.
...
A klaxon sounds, all eyes are raised,
Once more Infernals charge.
Shadowflyers, the hellhounds,
And battle thralls so large.
...
Cue symphony of guns and cannon,
Cue the song of misery.
The Resistance ever holds the line,
Buys time for Discovery.
...
A shield deep beneath the ice,
A shield designated sword.
Shield named the Aegis Cipher,
Against Infernals, ward.
...
The demons' bodies hit the ground,
Upon them, moon has shone.
Another night, another charge,
Life as it is limps on.
...
The living give their eulogies,
Remember what is lost,
In the fight against Infernal flame,
In this land of ice and frost.
