Chapter 7: The Stealthy Entry

(Smash City's Poke'mon stadium)

Kirby, Ty, Shantae, Olivia, Adeleine, Ribbon, Bandana Dee, and Rick were standing in the middle of the battle stadium. Adeleine, Ribbon, and Olivia were standing in one of the trainer boxes where a Poke'mon Trainer would stand during a battle as the looked around the empty audience seats.

Adeleine- Hmm…so this is what it's like to stand in a Poke'mon Trainer's shoes.

Ribbon- Guessing Ash likes to put on a show.

Olivia- So big! I know you said they need the space for the battle, but why so much space? Also, are all places for Poke'mon battles this big? And do they have to be in large stadiums and…

Then Kirby cut Olivia off by holding his hand up to her face.

Kirby- Sorry for interrupting like that, but I think those questions are better suited for Ash to answer. After all, he's the Poke'mon Trainer and Poke'mon battles are his specialty.

Olivia- Specialties?

Ty- Yeah, shela. Surely you remember Mario telling you that we're all masters in different skills in one way or another. I offer me brains, tech skills, and me skills with me boomerangs. Kirby offers, his resourcefulness in his Copy Abilities, knowledge of the secrets of the Ancients, and memorizing the map of nearly every galaxy in existence. And Shantae offers her genie magic, her acrobatics, and her dance moves.

Olivia- A dancer? You like to make music! Know any good songs to sing along to?

Shantae- I'm actually more of a dancer than a singer. But my dance moves do a lot more than please the eye. I utilize my dancing into my fighting style. That and I also need to perform certain dance moves to activate specific genie spells.

Olivia- That sounds a bit complicated. Don't you normally just snap your fingers and make jazz bands appear as you sing catchy songs while doing silly impersonations?

Shantae- I'm not that kind of genie. And neither was my mother.

Olivia- Your mother?

Shantae- My mother was a genie too. In fact, she was part of the original team Marco Mario assembled 1,000 years ago.

Rick- Hang on, shela! Your mother was part of Marco's team?! How old are you?!

Then Shantae moved her face up to Rick's and glared at him.

Shantae- Do me a favor, Rick. Never ask me that again!

Then Shantae turned around and walked away. However, Rick was still a little shocked from the look Shantae gave him.

Bandana Dee- You know, Rick, that was a bit rude.

Ribbon- You should never ask a lady her age.

Adeleine- If I recall, Palutena and Viridi get angry when someone asks them the same question.

Suddenly, everyone heard the speakers of the intercom being turned on before Mario's voice was heard speaking through them.

Mario- Kirby, Ty, Shantae, afraid we'll have to put this tour on hold.

Kirby- What's wrong, Mario?

Mario- It's Bowser. He's attacking Toad Town again. And according to Tails and Toad, Bowser brought along everyone from his team along for the ride. So I'm going to need everyone on the team for this.

Ribbon, and Bandana Dee looked sad after hearing Mario say that.

Bandana Dee- Oh man! And I was so looking forward to this tour!

Olivia- Bowser…I remember him. He was that giant Koopa that was ruler of that Kingdom Olly stole those minions from when he was making his army. He seemed big and scary, but he was a softy and was very protective of his son.

Mario- He's also a villain and my nemesis. I'm sure both me and Bowser explained that to you while we were making our way through Olly's origami castle. And like me, Bowser put together a team of his own consisting of the nemeses of my friends.

Kirby- Like my nemesis, King DeDeDe.

Ty- Or me nemesis, Boss Cass.

Shantae- Or my nemesis, Risky Boots.

Mario- We'll continue the tour after we've dealt with Bowser's Team.

(Toad Town)

Several of Bowser's minions were raiding the part of town where the decorations for the Origami Festival were being set up and wrecking the place. Most of the people like the Toads were running away. However, some were staying and fighting. Knuckles threw his fist at a Koopa named Boom Boom and Boom Boom did the same. When Knuckles and Boom Boom's punches collided, both Knuckles and Boom Boom seemed even in strength. But while Knuckles was keeping Boom Boom busy, Diddy Kong snuck up behind Boom Boom and bopped him on the head.

Boom Boom- Why you little…

Then Boom Boom began spinning around like a top and used his tornado fist to knock Knuckles and Diddy Kong to the ground. But before Boom Boom could attack them again, a portal opened up and a blue blur dashed out and knocked Boom Boom off his feet. But before Boom Boom hit the ground, he saw Donkey Kong above him before Donkey Kong swung his Monkey Punch and knocked Boom Boom to the ground. Then Sonic stopped running in front of Knuckles and Diddy Kong while rubbing his index finger under his nose.

Sonic- Wow, Knuckles. You keep running into all kinds of trouble when I'm not around.

Knuckles- Very funny Sonic.

Then Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Link, Kirby, Ash, Pikachu, Charizard, Ty, Pit, Shantae, and Tails exit out of that portal form Smash City. Knuckles and Diddy Kong quickly got back up and Marx, Espio, Vector, and Sly approached them.

Sly- About time you guys showed up! It's a mad house out here!

Ty- We know, Sly. Tails already informed us.

Link- So, where's Bowser now?

Vector- At the castle.

Espio- His Doomship is attempting to breach Peach's castle defenses while his minions are running amuck in Toad Town. Possibly to distract you with civilian danger while they kidnap Princess Peach.

Mario- Can you guys keep all the Toads safe while we deal with Bowser's Team?

Marx- You can count on me!

Knuckles- But what were you all doing in Smash City just now? I figured you would've been here helping with the preparations for this festival since you were the ones who invited us to attend.

Mario- We'll talk about that later. Right now, we got work to do.

(In a nearby alley)

Dimentio, Vaati, and Poke'mon Hunter J were watching the Super Mario Brothers' Team from a distance and they turned their attention to the portal to Smash City that was still open, but slowly closing. And Dimentio was still holding Olly in a cage with the shock collar on him.

Dimentio- Right on time! Just like Master Tabuu said they'd be. This is our chance to get into Smash City without having to worry about fighting any of those heroes on their home turf.

Vaati- But we need to move fast. That portal won't stay open for long.

Dimentio- Alright. Just hold still and keep calm. I've got this.

Poke'mon Hunter J- I've never traveled by flipping between dimensions. This better not be uncomfortable.

Dimentio- As long as you don't panic and let me do all the work, nothing will go wrong.

Little did they know, Charmy was flying just above where they were when he noticed they suspicious figures hiding in an alley.

Charmy- Huh…? What's going on here?

Charmy pulled out a pair of binoculars and got a better view of them.

Charmy- What the?! I know those creeps! They work for Tabuu!

Then Charmy noticed the caged origami figure being electrocuted by the shock collar every time he tried to resist.

Charmy- Hang on…that purple guy looks just like how that craftsman described that Origami King fella. But what's…

Then Charmy saw Dimentio store the cage under his cape before Dimentio made a square outline appear around Vaati, Poke'mon Hunter J, and himself. Once Dimentio snapped his fingers, the panel flipped and the three of them turned into shadows on the ground.

Charmy- What's going on here?!

Then Charmy saw those three shadows on the ground rushing for the portal right before it closed. Knowing that they were up to something, Charmy rushed after them. Then without anybody noticing, those three shadows of Dimentio, Vaati, and Poke'mon Hunter J entered the portal to Smash City before it closed behind Mario and the others. However, Charmy also managed to jump into that portal before it closed behind him.
