A Simple Wish
The rich man in his castle,
The one with power of stars.
Behind his walls and girdered gate,
Which to people seem like bars.
...
Some say it's gift of Heaven.
Some say it's magic, fate.
But the poor, the desperate, they all yearn,
For what lies beyond the gate.
...
There comes a night, upon full moon,
Under the light of stars.
When Rosas Castle's gate is lifted,
People walk beneath the bars.
...
The people wait for wishes.
Not all of them are granted.
But it matters not, for in this dance,
All of them enchanted.
...
No wish granted to be king,
Not even wish for queen.
Only small desires met,
To those who dream dim dreams.
...
The magic ends, stars lose their shine,
Thus bows Magnifico.
Until the full moon again rises,
The peasants have to go.
...
Rosas Castle again empty,
The stars no longer sing.
For all their light, for all their love,
They're owned by mortal king.
