Chapter 8: Goh and Bandana Dee's Time to Shine
(Smash City)
As the portals were closing after Mario and the rest of his team used them to exit Smash City. But three shadows managed to creep out of the portals and into Smash City moments before they closed. Not long after the portals closed, Dimentio flipped Vaati, Poke'mon Hunter J, and himself back to normal.
Dimentio- See! I told you to just leave everything to me! Now we've gotten into Smash City and those dumbass heroes aren't aware of anything or even here to stop us!
Poke'mon Hunter J- Flipping between dimensions like that…not exactly my favorite way to travel…
Vaati- Actually, J, it's not that much different from how we use portals to travel between Subspace and back.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Let's just find out where Olivia is hiding and get the **** out of here! I know the Super Mario Brothers' Team is busy with Bowser, but I still don't like being on their home turf.
Dimentio- The feeling is mutual, J. Especially after what happened the last time we were here in Smash City.
Just then, Vaati thought he heard something and quickly turned around.
Vaati- What…
Dimentio- Vaati, something wrong?
Vaati- I just thought I heard a small buzzing sound just now…(groan)…maybe I'm just being paranoid that Link or one of the other good guys will jump us since we have until the Mario's beat Bowser before they return and the fact we're disconnected from Tabuu's power in Smash City.
Dimentio- Well, let's get cracking then. Olivia has to be around here somewhere.
Little did they know, Charmy was hiding behind a corner and listening in on their conversation.
Charmy- Olivia…that's the name of that other origami the craftsman told me about. I think I get it. Tabuu must've been the one who stole the Fold of Life from the Origami Craftsman and used it to bring Olly and Olivia back to life. Tabuu must want them for whatever he's got planned for the Super Mario Brothers' Team. But somehow, Olivia must've gotten away and found by Mario. I better find her before they do!
Then Charmy flies off while doing his best to not make any buzzing sounds as he rushed to find Olivia before Tabuu's followers.
(In the Poke'mon stadium in Smash City)
Olivia, Ribbon, Adeleine, Bandana Dee, and Rick were still in the Poke'mon stadium, but they were in the audience seats and with Goh now.
Olivia- So, this is where Ash's friends usually are during battles?
Goh- That's one way to put it. A lot of Ash's companions cheer and support Ash from the audience. Though, I'm not much of a battler like Ash is.
Olivia- You're a Poke'mon Trainer too?
Goh- I am. But my interest is catching Poke'mon until I have one of every kind of Poke'mon. Including Mew!
Olivia- What's a Mew?
Goh- Actually, Mew is the name of a Poke'mon I've had my sights of catching for many years now. But they're saying Mew's just as rare and hard to find as that Ho-Oh Ash has.
Olivia- Ho-Oh?
Bandana Dee- A really big and powerful phoenix Poke'mon that actually belonged to the Poke'mon Trainer that was part of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team 1,000 years ago. Now he serves Ash in the fight against Tabuu like he did with Prince Calmly.
Olivia- And he's still alive after a 1,000 years? How long do Poke'mon stay alive for?
Goh- Well…let's just say…Ho-Oh's not a normal Poke'mon…he is a classified as a legendary phoenix Poke'mon for a reason.
Adeleine- Ty mentioned something about a barrier around the audience seats.
Goh- Yeah, the actual stadiums in the Poke'mon regions have these invisible energy barriers to block off stray attacks to prevent innocent spectators from getting injured. Like the one used in the Galar region where the World Coronation Tournament is taking place. Barriers like that help protect everyone in these seats from harm.
Suddenly, a hyper beam attack struck the barrier and knocked Goh, Adeleine, Ribbon, Rick, Bandana Dee, and Olivia to the ground. But they were completely unharmed.
Rick- You mean…like that, mate…
Goh- Yeah…just like that…but where did that attack come from?
Olivia got back up and looked down at the battle arena in the stadium.
Olivia- Oh no…
Standing in the center of the stadium were Poke'mon Hunter J, her Salamence, Vaati, and Dimentio.
Dimentio- Hello there, Olivia! You didn't think you'd be able to escape us that easily?
Ribbon- Hang on…they're after you, Olivia?
Olivia- Unfortunately, they are!
Goh- Keeping Olivia away from Tabuu's followers was the reason why they brought Olivia to Smash City, since Tabuu's power can't work here. But how the hell did you even get in here?! Tabuu can't open portals to this place!
Dimentio- Hey, where there's a will, there's a way. Now do us a favor and save us the trouble of kicking your asses and just hand over the origami girl.
Olivia- What have you done to my brother, Olly?!
Vaati- You really want to know? Just surrender yourself and you'll find out.
Olivia slowly floated a bit backwards and had a scared look on her face.
Olivia- I…I can't…I promised Olly I wouldn't…
Poke'mon Hunter J- So much for doing this peacefully. Salamence, go and fetch her!
Salamence- (Roar)
Salamence rushed out to grab Olivia. But just before Salamence could grab hold of her, Goh called out his Cinderace and blocked Salamence's claw with Cinderace's giant foot.
Goh- Nice work, Cinderace! Now knock Salamence away from Olivia with blaze kick!
Cinderace- Cinde…RACE!
Then Cinderace struck Salamence and knocked it into the battle arena in the stadium. Goh and Cinderace jumped down from the audience seats and into the arena to face Tabuu's followers.
Ribbon- Goh…
Goh- You guys go and make a run for it! I'll hold them off!
Olivia- But Goh…
Goh- Don't worry about me! I can handle this! Besides, Tabuu's power can't work in Smash City. That means they'll have to fight me on their own without relying on Tabuu's power to strengthen them. Now go! And keep Olivia safe!
Then Goh saw them run out of the stadium and into the hallways of Smash City before returning his attention to Tabuu's followers.
Poke'mon Hunter J- You arrogant little twerp! Guess someone's going to have to put you in your place. Drapion.
Then Poke'mon Hunter J called out her Drapion as her Salamence was getting back up.
Poke'mon Hunter J- And Salamence, time to Mega Evolve!
Then Poke'mon Hunter J activated her Keystone and Mega Evolution Stone Salamence was holding as Salamence Mega Evolved.
Mega Salamence- (ROAR)
Drapion- Drapion!
Cinderace looked nervous as it realized it was outnumbered.
Goh- Don't worry, Cinderace. Help is on the way! Inteleon!
Then Goh called out his Inteleon and had it ready to fight by Cinderace's side.
Inteleon- Inteleon!
Goh- Inteleon, snipe shot! And Cinderace, pyro ball!
Poke'mon Hunter J- Salamence, dragon pulse! And Drapion, pin missile!
The four Poke'mon attacks collided and filled the stadium with smoke. But before Goh could realize it, Vaati had snuck up behind him, pinned Goh's arms to his back with one hand, and held a knife to his neck with his other hand.
Cinderace- Cinde?!
Inteleon- Intel?!
Both of Goh's Poke'mon noticed Vaati had grabbed a hold of Goh and seemed like they were about to attempt to attack Vaati to get him off of Goh.
Vaati- Ah, ah, ah! I wouldn't do that if I were you. Not when I'm holding a knife to your trainer's throat. My hand might slip.
Goh- This…isn't…fair…
Vaati- FYI, this isn't a Poke'mon battle even if you and J are battling with Poke'mon. And that means we don't have to follow the same rules as your Poke'mon battles.
Bandana Dee- And neither do I!
Before Vaati could react, Bandana Dee smacked his spear like a bat and knocked Vaati to the ground and made him drop that knife.
Bandana Dee- You ok?
Goh- I'm fine, but I thought I told you to run.
Bandana Dee- You should know I'm a fighter too. After all, we did work together against Dimentio when Kirby and the others switched bodies.
Then Goh's attention returned to Tabuu's followers and he noticed something was missing.
Goh- Hey…where is Dimentio?!
Vaati- You're not the only one who can distract someone, you idiots!
Bandana Dee- We'll have to take care of them quickly if we want to go after Dimentio before he finds Olivia.
Goh- Fine, let's make this quick! Cinderace!
Then Goh reveals a Dynamax band on his wrist.
Poke'mon Hunter J- A Dynamax band?! Are you telling me this place in Smash City can support Dynamaxing?!
Goh- It sure can! Guess Tabuu didn't prepare you for Dynamaxing.
Then Goh returned Cinderace into its poke'ball, the poke'ball grew in size after absorbing the energy from Goh's Dynamax band, and a giant version of Cinderace appeared out of the giant poke'ball.
Gigantamax Cinderace- CINDERACE!
Poke'mon Hunter J- I'm not afraid of that giant stuffed rabbit of yours! Salamence, draco meteor!
Goh- Cinderace, G-Max Fireball!
Mega Salamence- (ROAR)
Gigantamax Cinderace- CINDERACE!
The two attacks collided, but the G-Max Fireball knocked Mega Salamence into the ceiling of the stadium before making it crash back down to the ground. Vaati attempted to rush at Goh again, but Bandana Dee held out his spear and blocked off Vaati's path.
Bandana Dee- Forget already? I'm in this fight too!
Then Bandana Dee swung his spear at Vaati and Vaati barely managed to block with his knife.
(Somewhere else in Smash City)
Olivia, Adeleine, Ribbon, and Rick managed to run into this one room after running away from Tabuu's followers.
Olivia- Do you think we got we lost them?
Rick- I think so, shela.
Adeleine- But Olivia, I think you should tell us what's going on. Why are Tabuu's followers after you?
Olivia- I guess I owe you that much. Tabuu brought me and my brother, Olly, back to life not that long ago. At first, Tabuu told us he needed us for a special project and invited us to stay in his palace until preparations were finished. But then, Olly discovered what Tabuu was really up to. Turns out there was a monster called the Origami Empress that was folded 1,000 years ago before me and my brother were ever folded. And Tabuu needs us as sacrifices to revive the Origami Empress. But luckily, Olly and I were able to escape Subspace, but only to have those three hot on our trail. But then Olly created a distraction just so I could get away. And that's when I found Mario and told him everything. Then Mario brought me here, telling me that Tabuu wouldn't be able to follow me in here.
Adeleine- It is strange how they managed to get into Smash City in a place where Tabuu's power won't work for them.
Ribbon- But that also explain why Kirby and the others forgot that we were coming for the tour of Smash City.
Rick- But why did Mario and the others not tell us anything?
Olivia- I guess they didn't want to worry you or make you panic or something like that. Huh…
Then Olivia noticed this large boat that looked big enough to be an airplane in the middle of the room. However, it certainly didn't feel like a boat to ride over water.
Olivia- Wow…that's a pretty shiny boat they have in here. But this doesn't appear like some regular boat. What is that?
Dimentio's voice- Oh that? That's the Shooting Star.
As soon as they heard Dimentio's voice, Dimentio flipped between dimensions and into the room with them.
Dimentio- A marvelous work of art. The Shooting Star is an airship created by the gods. It looks like an ordinary boat you see sailors and pirates using, but it actually has the ability to travel through air like a plane or through space like a space shuttle. Given to Marco Mario by Kyrin 1,000 years ago and then given to his decedent, Mario, 1,000 years later. A truly kingly gift if you ask me.
Olivia- Dimentio?!
Dimentio- What? You wanted to know about the Shooting Star and I was answering your question.
Ribbon- How did you even get in here?!
Rick- You couldn't have beaten Goh and Bandana Dee already!
Dimentio- No. Vaati and J agreed to play with them while I went to get Olivia for her playdate with the Origami Empress.
Rick tried to tackle Dimentio, but Dimentio snapped his fingers and the next thing Rick knew, he was running on a giant hamster wheel and couldn't stop.
Rick- Hey! What's going….
Dimentio- What's wrong? Feeling like a hamster on a wheel?
Suddenly, Dimentio heard booing from the reader. Then two readers, Owyn Ross and Ultimate savior infinity, each threw a tomato at Dimentio. One hit Dimentio in the face while the other got him right in between the legs.
Awesome ax10- BOO! YOU STINK!
Dimentio- Hey! Come on! That was a good one! I'm telling you, you people who read this guy's fanfiction series have no sense of humor! Anyway, make to the matter at hand…
Then Dimentio returned his attention to Olivia, Adeleine and Ribbon.
Dimentio- Now Olivia, just come quietly and you can avoid all this trouble.
Suddenly, Charmy flew right in and tackled Dimentio from behind. Dimentio was knocked a few steps forward, but little did Dimentio realized was Olly's cage he tucked under his cape fell out.
Olivia- A bumble bee?
Charmy- You don't need to be afraid. I'm friendly.
Ribbon- He's right, Olivia. I know him. He's a friend of Sonic.
Dimentio- Another runt? Where did this bug come from?
Charmy- I spotted you guys rushing to the portals from Smash City while the Super Mario Brothers' Team was going to deal with Bowser's Team and I decided to follow you.
Dimentio- Another pest getting in the way…just buzz off before you get hurt, shrimp.
Charmy- The only one buzzing off is you, jester!
Charmy rushed to sting Dimentio, but Dimentio pulled out a spray can and sprayed Charmy with whatever was inside that container.
Charmy- GAHHHHHHHH!
Dimentio- A can of bug spray works on anthropomorphic bees…who would've thought.
Then Dimentio sprayed Charmy again and Charmy fell to the ground, acting as if he was suffocating.
Charmy- (GASP)
Dimentio shook the bug spray can again, but before he could use it on Charmy again, a crudely drawn anvil landed on Dimentio's head and made him drop the bug spray.
Dimentio- An anvil…again…that's twice…in this series…
Turns out that anvil was drawn by Adeleine so she could save Charmy. Then Olivia and Ribbon help Charmy back up.
Olivia- Are you alright?
Charmy- (Gasp)…whew…I think so. That stuff he tried to spray me with felt like poison to me!
Then Dimentio got back to his senses and put on a completely different face. One less cheerful and one more serious.
Dimentio- Alright…no more Mr. nice Dimentio! I've had enough of this! I'm sure Tabuu won't mind if Olivia's body is a tad singed…
Then dark energy was glowing around Dimentio's hands as he glared at Olivia, Charmy, Adeleine, and Ribbon.
