I wrote this snippet when Stargate Atlantis was still running. It was in response to some stories I've read where I could only roll my eyes. It's a bit satirical so don't take it too seriously.

This story is now betaed as well through Senema. I'm so grateful for her help.

Sheppard never thought he'd enjoy watching a Wraith leisurely approach a human and utter his usual threating quips about how good they would taste.

"Do something, Colonel!" the man squeaked in horror.

"Are you sure, sir? I mean, after all, the Wraith has a right to feed on humans, as you so nicely explained to me yesterday. How was that? Oh yes, nobody can be expected to starve to death and if the only food is humans, they have the right to murder them for ten thousand years, use Ronon and others like him as toys to hunt or as laboratory rats like Teyla's ancestors," Sheppard said smugly.

Ronon grinned in amusement, the man's ridiculous and sanctimonious comments had gotten on his last nerve and it pleased him to see him so horrified. "I wonder if the likes of him would still think so if the Wraith would use them this way."

Teyla said admonishingly, "Colonel -."

But Sheppard could see her lips twitch as well.

"You know Elizabeth's going to be pretty annoyed with you if somethings happens to him, don't you, Sheppard?" McKay asked curiously.

"Oh, it wouldn't be the first time. Besides, I don't want to be accused of being overly violent in my reactions again," Sheppard said carefree, but raised his P-90 and aimed it at the Wraith. He had to wait a little until the consultant took a few more steps back, so he would not be no longer in danger from ricochets.

"Kill him," the man begged, backing away further, until his back hit a boulder and he had nowhere else to go.

"Are you sure? What about the right of the Wraith to live?" Sheppard asked.

"I don't care, kill it", the man screamed hysterical with fear.

"Interesting, now that his life is threatened, it's an 'it'," Ronon said, amused.

"Yes, and all his noble principles are forgotten," McKay replied. "What a hypocrite."

Sheppard started firing until the Wraith fell dead to the ground. As soon as he was safe, the man ran screaming to the stargate.

"I don't think he'll want to join us on another mission to teach us better ways to do things," Teyla said, smiling. This stupid man had really tried even her patience.

Sheppard walked slowly to the Wraith and fired a few more rounds into him to make sure he was really dead and unable to regenerate. "I am already looking forward to the report he will write about this incident."

McKay snorted. "I doubt he'll make one at all, guys like him hate to look bad. And there would be questions for us over this report; he certainly wouldn't want that to happen."

"Well, at least he won't bother us with his stupid and unqualified remarks anymore", said Ronon with satisfaction.

Sheppard laughed and slowly walked towards the stargate and his team followed him.
