A/N: First time writing something in a long time, so errors beware
Constructive Criticism is always appreciated~

Shadow the Hedgehog did not exactly know where he was, how he had gotten here or what he was doing at the moment. The only feeling he could discern was a general feeling of freefall, a feeling that reminded him of how he felt whenever he used Chaos Control or Snap to teleport, only more powerful and vastly more uncontrolled and directionless. Every time he opened his eyes, he was unable to see anything beyond a myriad of colors and fast images of people and every second, unable to make out anything beyond a few faces (Were those Rock People? Vampires? A Monkey Man?) and brief flashes of amazing locales before he was forced to close his eyes shut, lest they be burned by the energy surrounding him, the same energy that made his body feel as though he was burning to a crisp and healing every wound at the same time.

At some point during his fall he had come to the conclusion this trip would be an endless one, forever being trapped in a loop of eternal punishment. And for what exactly? He couldn't remember what had brought him to his current predicament besides a few key events, of which included G.U.N contacting him again for a solo mission, a secure facility he needed to infiltrate, a flash of purple energy, the large wave of energy hitting him and the 7 Chaos Emeralds being used in someway..

Shadows' eyes shot open as he searched his memories in an attempt to remember the incident as he remembered the Chaos Emeralds! They must've been brought with him into this, place, wherever he was, and he looked to his hand and saw the Green Emerald was still being gripped by him, unconsciously he must've been trying to protect it against whatever he had faced earlier, the culprit still being locked in his memory, unable to be found.

He reached out and tried to sense for the other emeralds, but they felt, far in a way, he could sense their presence but it felt as though they were locked away and unable to be truly found, which Shadow found odd. He would've pondered this more had he not felt something pulling him down. He suddenly felt his rather comfortable pace of freefall turned into a dramatic downpour as he felt himself dragged towards one of the walls of whatever creation he was in. Shadow felt his body hit the surface of the glass like structure he was surrounded by and he felt a pain so intense it was incomparable to anything he had ever felt before, not even being blindsided by Super Sonic felt this intense as he screamed in agony as a burning sensation started to take his body over. The feeling crept from the side which had collided with the wall to the rest of his system as he continued to scream into the void.

With all of his strength, Shadow gripped the Chaos Emerald in his hand and screamed "CHAOS CONTROL!" in a last ditch effort to save himself from whatever was currently affecting him. The wall's energy and Shadow's Chaos Control mixed together and shattered the area of the wall that was in contact with Shadow. The black void beyond looked to be all encompassing, with the exception of course being the Green and Blue planet that lay beyond the newly formed hole, with its accompanying Star and Broken Moon.

Shadow took what little relief he could and took a deep breath as he turned to look at what the new crack in this structure had for him. His face took a stoic turn as he glanced at the new planet, as the Chaos Emerald glowed in his hand, its residual power alerting him to the presence of another like it on the surface of this new world. He groaned to himself that yet again it seemed, he would be traveling to another world,as he prepared to make his leave, but before he could do anything more, a giant wave of energy hit him from behind. It seemed as though it was that interdimensional tunnel he had been traveling through had thought of him as more trouble then it was worth and knocked him out of it, disappearing not soon after.

Shadow, having used most of his energy in his still unknown encounter and with that last Chaos Control, was unable to resist this wave and was knocked unconscious, but not before seeing the Green Emerald fly out of his hands and towards this new planet, making Shadow take yet another groan before the exhaustion took him over and he started his freefall into the atmosphere of a planet named, unknown to Shadow, Remnant.

One Jaune Arc was feeling very stupid at the moment, as he continued to run away from his home and onwards towards his new life at Beacon. Everything in his body screamed at him to run back and return to his Mother, Father and several Sisters, but a voice whispered to him that this was the only way to become the hero he had always wanted to be, and the hero he had been denied to become several times by his parents out of concern for his safety. He knew they were only looking out for him, but he was 17 now! He could look after himself, or so he thought as he looked at his surroundings and gasped as he realized his thoughts had distracted him from his correct path towards his Bullhead. He was now semi-deep into the forest that surrounded where he and his family lived, a dangerous area with lots of Grimm around, and although they were rather weak forms of Grimm, the numbers they came in more than made up for the fact.

Jaune knew the basics of basics about the dark creatures, but even the most novice of potential Hunters should know that screaming and showing fear would be one of the worst decisions to make in a Grimm infested forest, as the creatures could sense one's negative emotions and were drawn to them to feast on any unfortunate souls.

Jaune's girlish scream betrayed his knowledge of Grimm and their behavior as he saw a pair of Yellowish-Red eyes glare at him from the shadows as a Beowolf appeared before him, he quickly sloppily drew out his families heirloom, Crocea Mors and turned it towards the Grimm, in a pose that looked as though he was desperately trying to hide his fear of the creature.

His fear quickly rose as he realized that the creature wasn't alone, as 8 more eyes appeared behind the approaching Beowolf, and 8 more of the Grimm revealed themselves to Jaune as he gulped more air as he realized what trouble he was in. "If only I had stayed on task instead of drifting off again!" Jaune thought to himself as he cursed himself for getting this stuck.

As the fight (more accurately called a slaughter to Jaune's current estimate of himself) was about to begin, a whistling noise entered the ear of all parties involved as the Grimm and Jaune turned to look at a blinding, Golden, shooting star coming barreling towards their location! Jaune screamed once more as he ducked for cover and watched as 2 of the Beowulf's were completely obliterated by the impact of the meteor while another was injured as the remaining 6 uninjured Grimm looked at the impact crater with at first curiosity then disgust as they smelt the presence of emotions, a clear sign of humanity, their prey.

The 3rd Beowulf, the one which had been injured, got back onto its now broken leg, it glared at the ash cloud which now surrounded whatever had landed and snarled in its direction, as it began to limp towards whatever energy it sensed in the hole, ready to kill whatever had attacked it and stolen its chance at a kill this night.

Jaune didn't expect a meteor to save his skin when he least expected it, nor did he expect to feel such pure power radiate from whatever landed near him and his Grimm attackers, but at the moment he could have cared less as he watched from afar the injured Grimm slowly make its way towards the still golden glowing ash cloud. Jaune predicted any number of things could've happened, the Grimm could've melted from the immense energy and heat of a still cooling down meteor, nothing could happen and he could still be on the menu for these creatures, or..

Before he could finish that thought, a noise startled both him and the Grimm, Jaune having been lost in his mind failed to notice a small change from within the ash cloud, as the 3rd Grimm yelped in shock as a gloved hand grabbed it by the throat before a loud and sickening CRACK was heard throughout the forest, before the Grimm went limp and fell to the ground, quickly turning into the black ash Grimm were known for after death.

Jaune gasped as the ash finally settled around the fallen celestial object, and he fully took in what had landed on his world. It was an Alien! A fully out of this world, 3 foot tall anthropomorphic creature, unlike anything he had ever seen before! It resembled something he could imagine being made if a Faunus fully became an Animal instead of just having animal abilities or parts.

The Creature, known to himself as Shadow the Hedgehog, turned to look at his assailants and growled to himself. They resembled too closely both the creatures of the Black Arms and the beasts he had to face while tracking down Mephiles and Iblis. As the black ash of his slain foe surrounded him, he took note of his surroundings and glanced at his enemies, 6 creatures of solid darkness it seemed, they radiated negative energy, again reminding him of the creatures of darkness created by Mephiles all those years ago.

The beasts who resembled Mobian wolves growled at him and bared their fangs as they prepared to charge at him. Shadow was not to allow them this chance however, their mere existence disgusting him beyond belief, an almost counterthetical to his purpose to exist, they must be destroyed here and now, with swift precision. Just as the creatures made to jump at him, he used Chaos Snap to teleport behind all 6 and shouted "CHAOS SPEAR!" as 5 golden energy spear-shaped objects appeared behind him and quickly placed themselves inside of the Dark Wolves, exploding and rupturing their bodies, tearing them apart and leaving only a cloud of black ash and sparkles of Chaos Energy.

The 6th beast turned to look at Shadow and howled in rage as it charged towards him, only to be blindsided by a kick to the head from a teleporting Shadow. As it slowly got up, it only got a second of sight before being almost bisected by a Spindash from Shadow, piercing the entirety of the middle of the animal and coming out of the back covered in a black goo. Shadow stood up on his feet and watched the creature melt slowly into nothing, as he glanced up to see if any foes still remained.

Shadow could feel the presence of another, much weaker individual near by, he slowly walked up to where he would believe this presence to be and found it to be behind a large tree, unwillingly to be such easy jumpscare fodder, Shadow used his Super Speed to surprise whomever or whatever was waiting for him on the other side, only to be surprised to find a blond boy with blue eyes looking at him in both fear and wonder.

Shadow examined the boy, he only appeared to be 17 or 18, and he couldn't sense any connection from the man to the creatures which had assaulted him earlier, so he assumed he wasn't a threat and could be left alone. (He did notice the boys striking resemblance to a certain friend, but Shadow buried those thoughts down, they could wait until after his mission was completed.)

Shadow was going to leave and search for the missing Emeralds, but before he could make his first step away from the boy, he looked up at the sky from which he had fallen and saw, engulfed by the pale moonlight which embroidered the nightsky, he glanced at the full moon, or what should have been the full moon, but instead was a broken and shattered nightly object. Shadow was quickly reminded of the fact that this was a new, and threatening world, and he needed all of the knowledge he could get on it to be able to obtain the 2 Emeralds that were on this world so he could gather the rest, and return home and finish his mission. (Alongside the protective instinct that he tried to bury whenever he looked back at the blond boy.)

Shadow quickly did a 180 and looked the boy straight in his eyes, sensing his fear and worry as well as a small sense of curiosity, but that did not matter now, as he opened his mouth to speak,

"I require knowledge on your world to gain back access to objects that are Very personally important to me, it would serve you well to give me what you know so that I may succeed in my quest"

Jaune gasped for air, the alien in front of him not only was easily able to slaughter so many Grimm in such little time, but was able to also speak perfect Valean!? None of this made sense to Jaune and he almost passed out from shock but managed to keep himself together as he formed a nervous response to the creature in front of him,

"w-What did you need to know?"

The Creature replied, "Everything."

Jaune gulped again, this was going to be a much longer day then he had previously planned…

END OF CHAPTER

A/N: This was mostly an exercise for my writing skills, been a while since I've written anything like this for a while and im sorry for any bad dialogue or wording, I wrote this at 1 in the morning and dialogue was never really my strong suit, and any mischaracterization is also a massive error, but at least I handled Shadow's character better than anything in the 2010's.
